Looking for a hot craps table.
Trips to Las Vegas
20
i am sitting in the airport waiting to get this trip started. It will be 4 nights at what's become my home away from home, Aria. I looked this afternoon at what may be available for an upgrade upon check in, but Saturday seems to be sold out completely. I'm not complaining, the standard Aria room for 4 nights at a cost of $0.00 is fine for me.

No real concrete plans other than Carbone Sunday night. Alize could also be on tap for Friday or Saturday night. One breakfast at MAG. Not sure where else I plan to eat. I'm not really a foodie but I love to eat.

I plan to play a lot of craps, hopefully the dice treat me better than my Labor Day trip. If things go well tomorrow I might go out and drive exotics on Sunday. I've looked into, but haven't booked, a scoot city tour for red rock.

Tomorrow I will get a shave and a massage at the spa and salon. I love the spa facilities at Aria and will spend a good part of the day there. Maybe even start out at the gym. Last trip I never made it from Aria past Caesars, this time I'm sure I will walk the strip quite a bit more.

After checking in, I'm going to go straight to the craps table and place a $96 8 and throw the remaining $4 on a hard 8. I'm gonna try to parlay that 4 times for a fun start to the trip. I'll try to update along the way.

Wheels up on a short jump to DTW in a little over an hour, then an hour layover and if everything is smooth there land at LAS at 10 their time.

To be continued. . .

Looking forward to the report and love the 'first bet' idea. My friend and I always place $50 each on two numbers on the roulette table right when we check in. Still waiting for a winner but its always a fun way to start a trip.

Sounds like you have a great trip planned. One of these years I'm going to book a Christmas trip, look at all the Vegas Christmas decorations, wander around aimlessly, and drink until I feel like a Christmas ornament myself. Have a blast and win lots!

The closest I have ever come to a Christmas trip was the Sunday-Thursday after Thanksgiving. I keep telling the wife we are going for Christmas one year.

Have a great trip!
My favorite things at Aria are actually the "bird chairs" outside.
Weird, I know, but it's fun to sit and take in the sights for a few minutes! Wish I was going today, too!

Good Luck!!
Looking forward to hearing about Carbone and Alize if you go there.
Carbone is on my list for the 30th

If you haven't tried a Hot Stone massage with Susan at Aria Spa, please do! It's the best. Deep heat while being ultimately relaxing. She's an angel.

@Its Only Money - I'm looking forward to your thoughts on Carbone also. We loved our meal there and thought the Veal Parm (bone in and enough for two) was the BEST! It's on our repeat list.

Lucky you - early Christmas in Vegas! :santa:

The Spicy Rigatoni Vodka is a must.
In August we went back a second night because everybody had to have it.
Meatballs not on menu!

I've been to Carbone every time I've been to Vegas since they opened. We happened in on opening night and had a fabulous meal at the bar. We've eaten twice at the bar and twice at tables. Love it.

So the flight last night was a bit of a bummer. It was an older 737-800 in the delta fleet. The wifi, entertainment and outlets were all inoperable. I tried to sleep some, didn't work, read a book for a while, listened to music, tried to sleep again, etc. There were nice strong headwinds so it made for a full 4.5+ hours of trying to get comfortable and get over the are we there yetitis. Anywell, we made it safely, our driver was waiting for us and check in at Aria went smoothly. Nice standard room on the 35th floor facing the mountains, I like the mountain view, higher floor is more important than strip view to me.

Gambling didn't go so well last night, but today is another day. Woke up leisurely. Will head down to the spa make a few appointments and then head out for some breakfast. Today is going to be a pretty chill day.

Until later . . .

Yesterday was pretty relaxing, strip walk, spa, good food, and finally a few wins!

The spa was great. Went up a little more than an hour early. Sweat out some toxins before my massage, I had a 50 minute classic therapeutic and she did a wonderful job. After my massage I went down to the salon for a royal shave, I treat myself to one every time. Luba was the barber yesterday, both she and Vinny do a great job. I can't recommend a shave enough to those who have never gotten one. After the shave I spent another hour relaxing in the spa facilities. It's a perfect way to spend a few hours.

Yesterday we had breakfast at Tom's Urban, I had the Ballpark Skillet, my wife had the Nashville hot chicken skillet. Both were excellent. We walked around The Park area a little and the was a quick outburst of rain in the sun, the wind really picked up too. Had a late lunch after the spa at Javier's, the seafood nachos and chicken taquitos. We love their seafood nachos. The food highlight was the tasting menu at Alize last night. All I can say was wow, it was really good. They do such a nice job with the presentation of everything. The view is incredible and the food matches it. I would say that each course is better than the last and neither of us were disappointed with any selection.

The gaming has been pretty terrible. Haven't really been able to get anything going. We played craps at Palms for a little bit and that seemed to improve our luck, but that casino was just dead. Came back to Aria and promptly lost what we won at the palms. Took the wife up to bed and went back down to play some more. Played for about an hour just pushing money around and made a small profit. I colored up and took a little walk. Decided I wasn't quite ready to go to bed and bought back in at another table. In about 15 minutes I had tripled my buy-in!! We hit the ATS in very short order. I kept at it for only a few more minutes and decided to book a good win. That brought me back up to only about 15% down for the trip so. Hopefully that continues.

Today we are doing the scoot city tours of red rock. Maybe I'll take some pictures. I suck at that. Heading out for a good strip walk and breakfast soon.

Hope the luck keeps turning for you!

  • We Both Need This Vacation. MGM too oversold again to start.
  • A Rare Friday Night Stay at MGM!
Nice comeback and great trip so far. I have never stayed at Aria and I have been inside Arial only twice, to visit the buffet. Wynncore has become my Vegas base but I love spas and you and many VMBers really like the Aria spa. I may have to check it out one day.

Things have been going well. Getting a lot of play the last day and a half but pretty much even. Fun tables though. Down about 25% on the bankroll, will probably up the bets tonight and see if I can book a win. Had a late lunch so cancelled the Carbone reservation. Will probably just go in there when we need a break tonight. 3 days will not be enough this trip.

I had never heard of scoot city tours of Red Rock, so I found their website. That looks like a blast!! Let us know how you liked it. I might have to book one as a surprise for Connie on our next trip.

I'm back. I will put together a recap later. Sunday we got back into the plus side of the ledger and maintained a small win for the trip. Travel yesterday went well and I slept like a baby last night. Getting up this morning was not as hard as I though it would be.
