Well, since VMB is working on the first flight in awhile for me. I guess I can add more color to my opening post.
In late July, M had a mild stroke likely due to high blood pressure. She also had high LDL cholesterol. It happened while she was driving home from visiting Hollywood Aurora with her dad for the first time. And I now assume the last time.
Work trip in August that she wasn't planning on going regardless, but I barely decided to go myself.
Regular August/September trip canceled in two different spots. I actually forgot to cancel a couple of my M Resort bookings and was technically a no-show. They still refunded my deposit when I called. I thought that was so nice of them. M didn't have the same luck with MGM canceling outside of the official window, and we ate $22 over it.
But the idea was she would tag along for G2E.
She is ~mostly better. But her blood pressure medications make her feel off at times and one acts as a beta blocker so her heart rate is sub 60 at times which is a lot lower than she was. She is going to a doctor next Wednesday to possibly have the medication regimen changed.
Her speech isn't 100% at times, but it's close. Fine motor skills in the right arm/ hand not 100% either, but still pretty good.
She was ready to go last night as far as I could tell. However, she hasn't been to a local casino since it happened. Well, that was a mistake. She panicked thinking about the connection to Vegas and casinos and broke down. And when she gets anxious over things, some of the things she felt while having the stroke can reappear, so it makes her even more fearful to go. Sigh. We have delayed her driving again as well, she probably has only done it maybe 5 times in the last 2 months? We'll definitely have to work on that.
One small silver lining of her not going is I get the window and I'm an extra two feet away from my seatmate who reeks of cigarettes. I never realized we follow a river a bit while taking off. My M always gets the window.
twice now Keno fans
we two waying so half tips to him was the deal
Looking back on this picture, looks like it was a lucky accident of accidentally adding two more numbers that happened to hit
Better to be lucky than good, I've heard.
Best wishes for a complete recovery for M. I had a TIA last year a few months before my breast cancer diagnosis and it is scary.
I’m on a beta blocker for AFib and hate the effects. I get some anxiety when driving and there are routes I won’t take if there is no where to get pulled over quickly because of the light headed effect of the low heart rate that sometimes happens. I can relate to the anxiety M is experiencing; it will get better as she continues to improve. I’m sorry the travel was overwhelming for her as some time away may have been relaxing for her
@tringlomane I’m so sorry to hear about M! I hope she recovers soon and you get your travel buddy back. I agree with you on solo trips, I do enjoy them, but my preferred gambling partner is my hubby.
