    My Trip Report

This trip was booked because of the excellent offer I received from Mlife some months ago. It included 3 nights and an $800 resort credit at the Four Seasons. I couldn't pass it up. The team this trip was my wife, cousin and his gf. A couple weeks before the trip I received an email about a slot tournament happening at MB during the same time I was to be there. I emailed my host to ask if he could get me into it since I would be there. He emailed back to call him. I call him up and he adds me to the tournament and asks who I was coming with. I told him I had my cousin and gf setup at Caesars as I had an offer for 3 nights, $450 casino chips and 2 tix to the High Roller. He proceeds to explain his dislike for Caesars and offers to provide a room for my cousin and gf. I accept as it would be more convenient. After some more discussion he asks for my flight information so he can have a car sent to the airport for pickup.

Flight ORD (Chicago) to LAS on Spirit. Always get the BIG seat. I love it. 1st class seat for $550. Only fly Spirit in summer months out of Chicago. A winter storm could leave you paying for $500 one way on AA or United.

We land and find our driver:

    We arrive at Four Seasons:

Dropped off the bags and down to the casino we go. I register for the slot tournament at Eyecandy while the wife has hourderves. I always play Pinball slots. There was only one outside the high limit slot area for the last few years. It was gone! It is now inside the high limit slot room at $25 level. Oh well. Top Dollar it is. I insert $500 and end up with this after a while:

My cousin and gf finally make it in. We head to Giada's for dinner. I read many positive reviews about this restaurant. Off to the Cromwell we go. Nice view from inside:

My wife sat down and as she was trying to slide down the booth her foot slipped on some food that was on the table base from previous diners. Not good when wearing open shoes. They quickly came and cleaned up the floor and table base.

We ordered - Baby Sweet Peppers with goat cheese, Orzo Meatballs, Chicken Marsala Meatballs, Bacon Wrapped Dates, Citrus Marinated Calamari, Pasta e Fagioli, Tricolore salad, and more.

The food had flavor and there was much thought put into the recipes, but was not to my liking. I wanted to love the food. I think the place is beautiful. I probably ordered incorrectly by leaving it up to the waiter to make most of the suggestions.

After dinner we walked to Caesars so I can check-in and pickup my casino cash and high roller tix. Got a Palace Tower room. It was the usual. We weren't staying there, but wanted to hang at the pool on Saturday. I played craps with the casino play. Turned it into chips and won a couple hundred. Nothing spectacular. Went back to MB for some gambling. I played the same Top Dollar machine the entire trip. It's a $5 outside the high limit room. I played this for hours. Up and down until 4 a.m. Bedtime.

Friday 7 a.m. - 3 hours of sleep? Way too much sleep for Vegas. I get dressed and head down. Top Dollar for a few hours. Off to Veranda for breakfast. I had steak and eggs. It was excellent. 4 people = $160 for breakfast. Vegas Baby! Off to the Four Seasons pool:

We hung out here for a while. I had to go to the tournament at 11:15. I like how everything is live and shown digitally as you play in the tournament. You know what place you're in the whole time. I ended session one in 4th:

The crew had moved to Daylight while I was gone so I walked over to meet them. It was around noon and it was dead. The place was packed an hour later. We had a day bed, which was nice. I'm in my forties. I felt old here. Some of these girls looked 18. The location faces a parking lot so it attracts many locals I'm sure. I had a few drinks and then headed to session 2 of the slot tournament.

I placed 18th on session 2. Booooo... That pretty much sealed my fate. I guess I'll take the $300 slot play and be happy. That's what the losers got. We had early reservations at Strip Steak tonight. I knew I'd love this meal as I had been there before. Had dinner at 6. Excellent as usual. I love the fries they serve instead of bread. I had them bring a second plate of them. I ordered Caesar salad, New York Strip, Broccolini, Creamed Corn and Potato Gratin.

We wanted to go to SLS, but decided to go to Aria and Cosmo. Vegas was busy. iHeart Radio was going on. I like Aria. I've stayed there 3 times. Once I had a corner suite. I found my 3 coin $5 Pinball machine. Won $400. Went to play craps. Lost $600 in 10 minutes. Blackjack - won $300. We then decide to visit Cosmo. This place is tight compared to MB. I'm talking about the walkways and casino in general. Not the machines. I don't like that feeling. We find a blackjack table. I buy in $500. Quickly lose $250. I tell the crew I'm going to craps. I get the dice and proceed to roll for 45 minutes. I was betting $30 - $50 on all numbers and some hard ways. I turned $250 into over $2k. One player netted $75k on my roll. Pit bosses were sweating it. There 4 of them hovering as I rolled. That was a blast. Back to Mandalay Bay. I play Top Dollar for the next few hours. Up, down, up, down. I think I netted a $500 win. I decided to get some real sleep because we were going to a concert Saturday night and I didn't want tired feet or feel like a zombie. It's about 2 a.m. Goodnight.

Saturday morning. I wake up around seven. Get ready and head down. I find a craps table with one player. I stand on the other end. He proceeds to make point and seven out. He sits out on my roll. I make a point and then seven out. He rolls and seven out. He leaves. I proceed to go on a 45 minute heater. I was hitting everything over and over. I wasn't betting big, but ended the session up $2k. Wife shows up with the crew. Off to Caesars. I ask for a day bed - $250. Right by the blackjack tables in the pool. Score! I love this area. It was 10 a.m. and the sun is being blocked by the tower. I enjoyed the shade until noon. Then the sun came over the tower. I played blackjack in the pool for an hour. Lost $300. Terrible rules.

My wife had a little too much to drink and went up to take a nap. The crew and I went to Spago for lunch. Great prime rib sandwich and Caesar salad. Took the wife up a margarita pizza to help with her buzz. Left her to eat and relax a while longer. Went down and played craps for a while. Lost $400. Went to play roulette near the pussy cat pit. There was a huge crowd around a roulette table. I looked at the table. Someone had placed a foot tall stack of chips on 26 and it hit. Holy crap! It was insane. I played roulette for a while. No luck. The wife was feeling better so we went back to the pool to relax. Spoke to our waitress for a while and found out she was going to the same concert as us tonight. Settled up the tab and off to 4S to get ready. The total for a day poolside at Caesars $750 - Nice!

We get ready for the concert. I go down as the wife finishes up and win $500 on Top Dollar. Off to the Eastside Cannery to see Tesla! I saw them in Chicago at the House of Blues a few weeks prior, but had too much to drink and didn't remember the concert at all after the first song. I think I had 18 lemon and vodkas. I stayed as close to sober as I could for this one. It was a great show. We had 11th row.
    20140920_210011[1].jpg

Now for the crappy part of the night. We head out to grab a cab after the concert. The line is 50 people deep. Not one cab around. 15 minutes pass. One cab comes. 10 minutes pass. One cab comes. I finally decide to call a limo. The limo comes 20 minutes later. I would have gotten a cab 2 minutes before the limo showed up had I waited, but I wasn't taking chances. There was no interest for management of this place to make their patrons happy. They kept saying "We called. Cabs are coming". Bullshit. They wanted us to stay and play. Let this be a lesson. Have transportation setup when leaving the strip. $90 limo ride.

I wanted to have Pink Taco. It was 11:30 when we were picked up. We got to Hard Rock around 11:50. They close at midnight and wouldn't let us in. AAAHHHHHHHH!!!! This sucks. We head out to grab a cab. There's a guy passed out at the front door of the HR. Security is trying to help him up. We cab it back to MB and eat at Citizens. My cousin almost broke a tooth on something in his salad. The food is good except for that. The wife is tired and heads up. I play Top Dollar for a while. My cousin calls and says he's playing craps. I head over to the craps pit and he says he's done. He lost $400 in 10 minutes. I proceed to play. A player next to me was playing don't come and rolling. I was on the 10 for $200 and hard ten for $50. He proceeds to throw 4 hard tens in 10 rolls. He blows himself out and leaves. At some point in the session I get on a 45 minute roll. This time I press to $150 - $200 on every number, all the hard ways, hop bets, yo's, 3 ways, you name it. I ended up winning $4,500 on this one. I was also taking care of the dealers. $5 passline bets with full odds and $5 hardways. They were gracious and we all had fun. They rated me at $500 a hand. It was around 4 a.m. Played Top Dollar for 2 hours and won $1000. I was getting tired now, but didn't want to sleep as we were leaving in 2 hours. I walked down to the Delano area. I've stayed at The Hotel half a dozen times. It's different, but the same. I'm staying there in January for NFC\AFC weekend. Can't wait!

Wrap up - won $5,500 overall. Lots of tipping and spending baked into that so I won more. Moved from a gold card at 125,000 points to a Platinum at 270,000 points in 2.5 days. I like the 4S allot. The secret doors are fun. I felt special.

Great TR thanks. How far is the walk from the Casino to FS? Did it get old?

The 4S door is 20 feet from the MB elevator bank. No difference to me. Delano is further.

    Great report!

I agree with your comment about Cosmo having narrow walkways. It gives off that cruise ship casino vibe to me. But it's a beautiful property otherwise.
