    This is crazy.
Borgata (AC) sent me a comp room offer.
I haven't been to Vegas for 5 yrs -- or AC
    for 8 years !!!!
(This is one thing that happens, having a baby - as you all know )
Where I got "on their radar" - I have no idea ?
They had an old PO Box number for my address ( Reward Card ).
    I call Borgata.
The operator has to get "hospitality" supervisor - because my
Reward Card was SO OLD !.....surprised I wasn't deleted ?
I didn't realize it had been 8 yrs since my last Borgata visit !
The operator was giggling at my Reward Card number --
She said, "it's so short....the numbers are WAY LONGER nowadays."
    ( My wife + I went there early in it's history, I guess ?)
    So, I tell the wife -"I'm staying 2 nights".....one comp + $15 resort fee / one at $79 plus = $15 resort fee !
( Offer has some free play + money stuff = I can use for resort fees )
I kinda pitch the idea to my wife --
"I can get us back on the Borgata radar, with some play + we can use it as a "home base" for our
next vacation in Autumn. Hell, where can you stay at a 4star hotel for comp and other
nights for $79 ?....gamble., too......pool for the kid...shore close by......Days Inn will cost more
+ we are going somewhere close by ?, in the Fall, for
    vacation.......why not ?."
    She gives the "okay".
I try not to show how FRIGGIN' PUMPED !..... I am !!!!! Whoo Baby !.....A night without child care ?:nworthy:
Are you kidding ?.................kiddin' myself !.........I'll be asleep by 10 pm !:rolleyes2::thumbsup:
I know the Table games are too high for me -
    I'm a $5 crap player
But I played VP at the bar - at Borgata years ago.....I can't remember the payscales ?
    What are they now ?
I'm figuring everything must be a $1 up at VP ?....is it more, now ?
Do they still comp drinks at that bar ?.......the casino bar = don't know the name.
I like to watch a game,too....even if it is The Phillies.
So - I get to play golf early ( at home ) - shower -
hop in the car + listen to the afternoon METS game on the 3 hr car ride to Borgata.
Crank some Sinatra !........Use the pool + play VP as long as I can stay awake !
How's the walk to Harrah's or GN ?
I don't need to see the boardwalk.....just go for a walk outside the next morning.
    Any input ?....thanks:wave:
    It ain't Vegas !..........but it's something !

I was there last year. They had 9/6 Jacks or Better at bar, both quarter and dollar. There were also some 9/6 machines on casino floor.

Borgata has the best overall payables in AC for single line VP. Where they fall short is the amount and variety of multi-line VP games at 50 cents and above.

    Trips to Las Vegas:
Harrahs is an easy,5-10 min walk(depending on whether ypu take the direct path across the field or the sidewalk around back.
The GN is actually closer but not easy to walk because it is a cross the 4 lane highway.Take the jitney.
The BBar is just inside the casino off the lobby and they do comp drinks.Gets very busy on weekends and tough to find a seat.Pay scales are best in AC.

Borgata is a great property with plenty of restaurants and bars.
I'm heading down to see Steely Dan 4/29-4/30.

I hope you enjoy your stay.

Joe when are you coming down? Maybe I'll shoot down and say hello.
The VP Bar at Borgata gets full early on some days but it's a nice bar with good beer on tap. Last time we were there there were a bunch of corporate yuppies drinking martinis taking up seats and not playing the VP machines.

    Jerseyguy -
    That's nice of you.
I'm not sure of my arrival time on Sunday ?
Golf at home in a.m. --- i might cancel if this cold weather persists ?
Then, I'd just leave in the morning for Borgata.
It would be a GREAT afternoon - if somehow, I landed a VP bar seat +
watched the end of The Masters - while playing VP + sippin' good beers !
Maybe, i should just leave in the a.m ?........otherwise, I might not
be in Borgata til late afternoon.
I have a suspicion "check-in" will be lengthy - as I have to go to Rewards first -
to settle my old card + have them validate my comp'd ( Sunday) room - before actual "check-in".
I'll watch the forecast - in the coming days.........let ya know ?
I can't believe they have 9/6 VP ???!!!!......even at the bar ?
That's tremendous !.....now I remember why I used to stay/play there.
    Whoa, baby !

For what it's worth, the Borg has a race book.

I don't know exactly how their drink ticket system works because on my second bet I asked and was given a drink ticket. For my third bet, I asked for another one, but the mature clerk informed me in her best Sister Mary Margaret voice: "we don't give drink tickets for each bet". I should have asked her how it worked, but didn't want to get my my knuckles smacked with her ruler.
