Hello all, Here is a shot at a trip report, names withheld to protect the innocent: 8/20/06: 2:30PM, Shuttle driver rips Sister in-law’s toenail off while moving baggage at the Albuquerque Airport. Beam and cokes, Miller lights. Niece has not flown since high school. During flight niece hides behind magazine, green imprint left on forehead. Entire section of plane goes into a fit of laughter including the wife and I. 3:30PM, Arrive at McCarren airport, Niece does not handle confined areas well, tram to baggage causes another round of Beam and cokes, Miller lights. Stood in line at the Dollar rental car for an hour and a half. Had reserved a car through SW Airlines vacation package. Shuttled over to pick out a full size, none available got a Charger. Premium no extra charge, cool but probably won't reserve again. Saw a lot of people being told if they didn’t have their papers from the internet they needed to go print them somewhere, miles from home wow! We were good, IN and Out double double animal style. Great as always, off to the Luxor. Stood in line twenty minutes, by the size of the line it looked like it could have taken forever. Beam and cokes, Miller lights. Off to Monte Carlo by foot, what happened to the bubble bath place? Luxor has great soaking tubs in the West Tower and my wife enjoys it! More Beam and cokes, Miller lights. Won a little on the slots by the little market store leaving, out to the strip exits. Over to the Tropicana, my niece loves the free air show. Another thing gone, anybody know what’s up with that? Oh well more Beam and cokes, Miller lights. Expressos for me, I have no idea what time it is and don’t care. We are in Vegas! I’m wired, Niece is hammered, and Wife is starting to drag a little not bad though. Sister in-law found some krazy glue at the CVC and glued toenail back on and is ready to head to the room. Back to Luxor, Beam and cokes, Miller lights. Now will be known as BCML to save my ninja typing, right! I’m winning on the slots that have the bets on the side of the reels, I should have written down names but you all probably know them. Sometime before dawn it’s bedtime, who knows. It’s Vegas! 8/21/06: Time has lost total meaning life has become a blur coffee, craps, at the Luxor. Great bunch of dealers and cocktail ladies at probably 6:00AM but who is counting. Tables are half price drinks are cheap, call the room everybody is still asleep. Hours later breakfast at the Peppermill, took you all advice ordered the large fruit plate, shared an omelet with the wife. If you love fruit this is the freshest we have ever had. Walked to Walgreen’s got a $2.99 Styrofoam cooler, ate on this fruit for days, I’m thrifty what can I say. Head back to Luxor for tequila bloody Mary’s, and BCML, I’m still winning on the slots that have the bets on the side of the reels. Down to the pool snooze, and check out all the beautiful people, wow I was young once! By now reality is gone, sweating crawling back to the shower. Alive again head down for BCML lost niece and sister in-law in elevator somewhere. The security card has many baffled and must admit it can be cumbersome. We feel safe it’s ok. Find niece clawing her way out of the elevator. More BCML and elevator training, good to go. It must be dinnertime everyone’s feeling weak. Valet at Paris walk to Margaritaville. It was ok, lots of food. Guys on stilts people yelling salt, salt. Waitress lost a contact so we kinda had to help her see, felt sorry for her. Tipped her big she was a real trooper. I repeat, it was ok. Hit the TI, Mirage, and Casino Royale. Slots were good. Tables so packed could not even see the action. Sometime before dawn back to the Luxor sleep needed, is this our room? 8/22/06: Coffee, craps, at the Luxor. I may learn a little about this game after all. Won a hundred took coffee and chai teas up to everyone. The line at Starbucks down stairs is long. The line upstairs is a piece of cake. Sister in-laws toenail is good; showers and we are all off to Paris for breakfast buffet. Line is long about 10:00AM, I think. Get a line snack at the little bakery across the hall, time flew we are told that we came at the right time for breakfast and lunch at the same time. And we did of course, this is wonderful food. Wife has a chocolate dessert of some kind and goes into a stupor. Life is good, back to the pool for BCML, sweating crawling back to the shower. Head downtown, Main Street Station buffets. We were told to eat within 30 minutes and then had to leave. We should have our mistake. The Busman was a hoot and defended us from the other personnel for a while then kicked us out. We probably won’t go back, first bad experience had at this establishment. Food was old, everyone felt rushed. Walked down to; it used to be called Mermaids I think. Got the niece a brainfreeze with an extra shot. Sister in-law took a sip and lost her breath, everclear wow. They don’t even serve that here in New Mexico! Toenails good, niece is looped. Wow El Cortez looks like a long way to walk; head back hit all the slots coming back. Did not win at all out of the four of us. Some dude selling lotions or something grabs the niece, had to help him understand that we don’t grab strangers in the United States. I’m sorry, but that was fun! More BCML, head to the Stardust. We have read that it will torn down in the near future. Winning on the same slots as the Luxor bets on the side deal. We like the Stardust, the old school or something. Back to Luxor, Excalibur for BCML. Everyone wins a little, stagger to bed. 8/23/06: Last full day, you all know what that means pack everything possible that can be done into twenty-four hours. I’m a total lunatic by now, totally enjoying life. The niece is close to alcohol poisoning and can’t keep much food down. The guys on the same floor as us at the Luxor are filling bathtubs with ice and invite us over. Someone asks my niece if she would carry a child for them since they cannot, no kidding. Wow, this must be Vegas! Honestly between then and getting on the plane the next day I remember returning the car and the crowds at the airport, and not much else.
She GLUED her toe nail back on????? Is that a medically correct thing to do???:confused2: Hope she is all better now....
Glued Yes Hello Blonde 4 Ever, Yes she glued it back on, apparently this is a recommendation that nail professionals recommend. I'm sure there is a name for nail experts, I have no idea. It keeps the air out and eases the pain. I have to tell you she was a real trooper. She was over this weekend and is ready to go back to Vegas at the drop of a hat! October 18-21 can't get here fast enough. Dave
