That's not screaming. That's audible texting in all CAPS.

    Enjoying the report.

Played slots and craps in and around Harrah's with disastrous results today. Well, I'm down a few hundred but not a thousand so I guess it all depends on your definition of disaster.

Baseball bets have not fared any better...I'm 0-5. Cleveland let me down big time today. I'd make some joke now about how the river caught on fire there in the 70's, but my heart isn't in it.

I don't adhere to a daily gambling budget and I don't have a daily loss limit, however, I do sometimes stop and say, "Whoa....that'll be quite enough losing for the day." This is one of those times. But..good news, It's about half an hour away from a new day!

Though losing sessions all, gambling was enjoyable. Nice rowdy but not obnoxious craps tables. I've also become a fan of the Animal House and Brady Bunch slots. Very fun.

Harrah's is a video poker desert so I've mostly steered clear save for a few pokes trying for a big hand.

    The smell is better!

Seriously, when I walked in this morning it was eye-stinging. Maybe someone turned the casino scent machine up to 11. Maybe I'm just used to it and I've taken on the scent myself and now I'm walking around like a Harris Casino Scent Renuzit. Or, more likely, the other smells of Vegas have wafted in and evened things out. Smells like cigarette smoke, weary travelers, beer farts and desperation.

And, though Ivy was unable to help me out with a name of the scent, I look forward to our burgeoning guest/concierge text relationship.

The chairs in the poker room at Planet Hollywood did a number on my back last night. Bourbon and aspirin are working well.

If they ever bring back the Treasure Island Pirate Show......

And why the hell don't they?

I went to the Oyster Bar at Harrah's because I was feeling a bit peckish. Enjoyed a few of these while considering my options.
    IMG_3993.JPG
    Option one achieved.
    IMG_3992.JPG
    Macroshot Option One.

The drinks and oysters really amused my bouche because I was then ready to put an order in for an entree. Yes, I could have eaten a few dozen more oysters but there was something on the menu that intrigued me. Not sure I would get this again with so many other fine choices on the menu, but it was good and I'm glad I tried it. This is the
    *OSCAR BURGER

Half-pound Angus Beef topped with asparagus, red king crab and Hollandaise sauce, served with bibb lettuce, tomato, red onion, on a brioche bun. Choice of any side....

    It was very good.

This was a two burger day. And I didn't have to use my AK.
Oh, and just in case my mom is reading this...I should also point out that I had a salad. And, sorry for all the cussing, Mom.

So, I might call it an early night at this point. Or, I might grab a hundred bucks and a handful of coupons and head to Ellis Island. Heck, I might stop at the Stage Door on the way, which means I should grab a hundred and ten bucks.

Ahhhh, the Vegas screamers....."I won a dollar" at the top of their lungs. Enjoying your details and pix! As an FYI, I always ask for a "to go" glass of wine when using my food comp at the D grill. But then, I drink just about any wine as long as there is a slot machine to enjoy it at! Soldier on!

    Yes, Fat Choy!
I also enjoyed a few bites of the duck fried rice.
    IMG_4003.JPG IMG_4004.JPG IMG_4005.JPG

As my grandfather used to say, "You didn't leave enough meat on those bones to make a decent cup of soup."

Fat Choy was very good. Plus, for joining their players club, I got $10 freeplay. I was supposed to earn 500 points to get it, but the cashier was having a bad day...I had to wait a really long time for my card so she rewarded my patience by added the $10 without me playing anything. Then, I used that $10 to earn $9.40 to put toward my meal.

It is these thrilling moments of success that keep me coming back to Las Vegas.

There is a new player drawing tonight at 7pm. I could win $100 if I show up. I could also order the five other things on the menu at Fat Choy that I really want to try. I'll probably take a pass on that trip and try out their other restaurant in the next few days, Flock and Fowl.

Eureka casino is small, not overly smokey, and full of nice enough folks who are just going about their business.

I walked there from the Monorail.

Oh, and I rode the monorail for the first time ever. Had a day pass gifted to me so I wanted to give it a shot. Worked out well for this purpose, I guess. The station is fairly convenient to Harrah's valley tower. The eight minute walk from the station to Eureka was seven minutes longer than I would like. Blame that on the sun.

The success of that journey made up for this morning where I lost $120 at the craps table and was never up from a $300 buy in. Spent another $150 on three Baileys and coffees at the slots. Was really looking for that handpay while playing at Eureka. Maybe later.

Not sure what the evening will bring. It's nice to finally be at a property with a luxurious pool after having endured Bellagio and Cosmopolitan, so maybe I'll run down for a quick dip.

There's a magic convention in town...magic as in Gob Bluth, not sullen teens.

A happily intoxicated fella from Victoria BC at the slot next to me just turned a Canadian quarter in my hand into a looney. Then he told me about all the sexy Russians he worked with on cruise ships.

Try have that happening to you when you vacation in Myrtle Beach.

As the kids at Cosmo would say:

    VEGAS BABY!!!!!!

Still trying to wrap my brain around asparagus, on a burger.
Oddly enough, I believe you that it was good. Might just try one myself in September!

    Enjoying the report!

    Thanks!

    It was good....
The Oyster Bar is underrated, I think...lots of great options on the menu. The Oscar burger is a good choice if you're thinking about going outside the box.

Seattle is losing. I really thought the Big Maple was going to come through for me today after my positive experience with a Canadian in the casino. Baseball bets are just killing me.

Just had a solid craps session where I walked away up $240 from my $200 buy in.

Slots are not quite breaking even.

It's Saturday night in Las Vegas. I'm in my room resetting my gambling roll. Time to GTFOH, there's a casino downstairs and several others along the street both north and south.
