As great as buckeye ran the next day (I'll let him tell the story in pics)... and it was a HEATER... it could have been SO much more. He missed kickers on a bunch of huge hands that still payed a lot but could have been 4-5x the win he ended up with. I'll wait for him to update ya'll

I see a lot of video poker under 99% listed in vpFREE2 now like some 97% games added earlier this week. Unfortunately it's a sign of the times since the better games are getting downgraded. (I'm sure tringlomane knows this but maybe others don't know that vpFREE2's mission isn't to list all video poker just the best games at each casino.)

So the next morning I wake up early, get ready and head down to the floor. While I am walking around searching out the VP machines I stumble across this one which seems too good to be true..

    uploadfromtaptalk1465665489323.jpg

I run some coin through and eventually figure that something has to be off because a $6.7k payout for a $0.25 doesn't make sense. Ended up even I believe thanks to a few hits.

Headed back to craps while exchanging texts with W while I have the table to myself for a decent bit. I'm playing the donts as usual with 2-4 DCs and anywhere from 4-6x lays. Sometimes I let them travel and once I have 3+ numbers on the board I up to the max 6x lay. What I enjoy about that is watching the scoop on all the numbers when rolling out and I'm getting paid nicely vs. Having all the money get swept away. I did fairly well playing that this trip even with hot shooters.

W eventually heads over to the Sports Book to place some bets and meets me at craps for a bit before we decide to head over to Bellagio buffet for a my Vegas 2 for 1 redemption worth about 25 dollars for 14k points.

Food was great, we fill up and eye the ice cream machine for dessert before eventually heading back to the sports book for MLB parlays.

Time for my sweet run. I am eventually able to jump back on the same machine I played the day before and thankfully I do as I start out quick and continue to run it up with a nice quads.

Before getting another chance at first royal..

    Booo!

    Another shot at a handpay..

    Followed by another..

    Doesn't pan out..

    And yet another Royal draw..

    Shortly after..

Which led to this beauty! Guaranteed win with 51% shot at handpay..

    Nooooo
    [IMG]

Now here's where I need to study up on Super DDB, because 2 pairs pay same as 1 pair of Jacks but quads with kicker pay higher and FH is only 6x, I threw away the low pair and treated them like aces but that may very well be losing a slight edge. I'll have to do more research to confirm.

Finally moved up and started hitting $500 quads.

    And premiums ..

Which allowed for a few $5 shots.

Before backing down again and yet still hitting some more quads.

    Again at $2 level.

Leading to another premium shot at $5 level..

    But no go..

By nights end I ended up closing out with another royal shot and another solid quad..

It was the best run I've had in some time as I cleaned up and didn't even hit 1 handpay. Not a bad way to recover.

W is off early in the am so calls it a night and we part ways. I play some more craps and pull out a 1k session even with one shooter nailing a make em all as I sat out after losing a few bets. Since I have now have recovered most of my bankroll, I head up to bed as well.

Next am I take my time getting ready and head down to The Henry for breakfast. Standard meal but I do enjoy their food.

Also stop by the Sports Book to check lines for the Cavs game.

Eventually I head over to look for the STP machine but run into Ultimate X at first. Other than a couple small hits I run cold and dump a few bills in before calling it quits.

After that I decided to walk across the street to take a stroll through the mall at PHO and buy a couple shirts before heading back over and finding some STP. This is another session I wish I had avoided as I continued to dump my previous day earnings right into one cold machine. Had a few 10x chances and an okay hit here or there but I dumped it all back in after bumping bets so I was kicking myself later.

    10x bricked.

    Like the odds...

2x better odds than the royal.. not quite the same payout..

After dumping way too much back into STP I felt pretty upset and headed back to place a bet on Cavs with the over and the won as they were a pick em at that time. Luckily they blew out GS and covered the over (barely) so I felt good about that. Prior to the game starting I played some more dice but shooters were hitting repeat numbers then 7 out so it was not a good session and made me wish I had left with W earlier that day.

I headed over to the sports book a bit late and my favorite machine was taken so I sat around the corner. Had another quad A's with couple of hits later but nothing special as it grinfed back into the machine even as i dropped my bets. By this time I was feeling tired so after sweating the game through 3 quarters I finished watching in my room. I was expected to leave at 5am so tried to get to bed early but that didn't work out so great as I couldn't sleep well so ended up pushing flight back and would figure out in the am.

Here's last few hits at sports book during the Cavs game.

    Quad A's
    [IMG]

Another teaser that didn't pan out..

    Final quads of the night.

The previous day I had stopped by the host on duty desk in the temprary high limit table game area by Queue bar to check my play and when reviewing my play, the host manning the desk (MP) asked if I had a host to which I told her no and she gave me her details. She was quite happy with my play and wiped my room charges and asked if I needed late checkout or ride to airport and I politely declined as I wasn't confirmed for flight out yet and wasn't sure when I was taking off. We chatted a bit and I got her card.

The final day I awoke at 330am and realized I wasn't ready to go as I was beat so slept in. Around 9-10am I called the desk to ask for late checkout and the person I spoke with said they weren't authorizing it because of a high volume of expected checkins. I quickly shot MP a message and she took care of it quickly. I went down for some more craps and was down about 1k at one point before grinding it back out to a +250 session. With that I stopped by to say hello to MP and thank her and promised to give her a call before my next trip.

I went over to the sports book for one last trip and to order lunch. I got the wings and fries and a Coke and really enjoyed it.

Saved this photo to check to see of this was the correct hold..

And shortly after eating and having about an hour to go I drew this whilenchatting with bartender and the guy next to me..

    First handpay!

I ended up putting another 200 in to play later on but cashed out 100 of it. Overall I finished the trip still down around 3-400 but when figuring in comped room, resort fees, meals, it would be an overall winning trip as far as I'm concerned.

Booked my standby ticket to London via British Airways leaving at 5pm for $91 one way and headed to the airport. Didn't make the 5pm because they said only seat available was a jumpseat (no thanks for a 10 hour flight) so I passed and got on the 930pm flight instead.

Put a couple 20s into VP at the airport and had one last teaser/reminder that VP still owns me.

Made it to London then flew to Qatar Airways in a 6 hour flight and slept most of the day today. Back to work tomorrow as local week is Sun-Thu here.

Final numbers were shy of 21 hours of table play with 15.5 hours of VP. Coin in for VP was 41.3k and coin out 39k. Overall down 789 so my craps sessions carried me through as did the big hit in the end.

All in all it was a great trip meeting my buddy W and I got a lot of play in so I am good for awhile. Thanks for reading and I hope to next time get that first royal.

Just go through and count the quad As with no kickers... it's insane.

I started my last day in town putting together some parlays (went 4/6 the day before on 3 team baseball parlays). Sones was working the sportsbook bar and I hit this while figuring out my bets. My only hit of the day unfortunately.

After Bellagio buffet we sweat our parlays and I dropped $300 on ol' Bonus Poker 25c trying to use the strict rules of parlay. I barely ever got up to the 50c level before busting my $20s. Brutal session but was super fun watching buckeye hit quad after quad at $2.

The dealt quad As was so sick. $800 guaranteed, $1600 for a face kicker, $2000 for a 2/3/4. He was a favorite to draw the handpay! UGH

Then it was hilarious, another one of those shots where after hitting a big quad buckeye says "Ok 10 hands at $5". We count them out loud and on #10 this draw appears... god what a sweat.

Regardless of all the $800 and $500 quads he nailed, which were many, the potential for so much more was just missed. Next time!!

We finished the night at craps and I had my first real winning session in 3 days of $300. Finished net down more than buckeye ($1300 or so) even though he bet way bigger. Could have been worse though. Stayed at PHo comped across the street and other than 1 short craps session at Cromwell day 2, I gave them no play. Their downgraded VP bartops is the main reason.

    Great trip!

Killer run on the VP there, buckeyestud!

As for Super DDB, I think you played all the hands you questioned right. At 6/5 Super DDB, you'll break two pairs with face cards and full houses with trip face cards, but you shouldn't at 7/5 Super DDB. Also in both games, trip face cards with a kicker is the correct hold, over a full house. Also in both games, holding trip 2-4s over a full house is correct as well. Nice job on your first handpay!

Great report and thanks for all the pictures.

Can I ask how do you book a standby ticket on British Airways to London? Can't get over that it was $91, now that's a win!

Great report!! Lots of great hits and pics.

That $6.7k payout for 25 cent royal is if you get a royal on all three hands at the same time, so that's why it's so high, basically you have to be dealt a royal to hit the jackpot. They have a similar one at Aria that I played for a bit thinking wow this machine must be way over 100% payback with that high of a progressive for the royal, then I saw the part that says "all hands."

So for Craps you just play don't come, nothing else? What base bet and odds do you play? Always interested to learn about different craps "strategies" that people use and how well they are working for them.

Funny you ask, I get this a lot. Typically only Americans say it like Cutter. The locals have an accent that sounds similar to this, but different. Kind of like 'Cuh-tar' said just as quickly. There are other variations such as Brits who say 'Cat-tar'. Nobody here gets offended by how it's pronounced though.

Thanks for the reassurance! Was bothering me as I couldn't find strategy easily so made my best guesses.

Great run indeed.. if only I had hit a Royal..I had enough hands in for one!

Thanks! Actually, my wife works for Qatar Airways so we get staff tickets for partner airlines as well, American, United, British, Virgin, JetBlue, etc. Saves us tons of money but we travel frequently so in the end we stretch the normal price of one trip into many.

Thanks! And yeah it's a bit tricky how they laid that out there. Took me a bit to figure that out.

As for craps, I typically played don't pass with full odds (6x lay) and 2 don't come bets also with full odds (6x lay). Sometimes if table limit was higher I'd only lay 3-4x to limit variance on bankroll. At $25min it's $150 max lay and on $50 it's $300 so swings are bigger.

At one point while shooting I had 4 DCs out there with the don't pass and nailed a 7 for nice pay. Thats the best part about donts, when a 7 hits you clean up instead of losing all your bets. Ideally I'm looking for choppy play, point, number, number out. If one of 3 gets taken down its still a small win.

W plays a strat where he lays a small DC bet, let's it travel then lays odds (I call it travel insurance) until his 2nd, bigger DC bet travels then he takes odds down. Theres a lot less variance this way and he's rated nearly the same as me because they don't count odds in play at Cosmo anymore. Also, if a shooter gets hot and knocks down a couple of your bets you can sit out until a reset happens.

Overall it's more of a grind and it's not quite as exciting when you're sitting out those long rolls, but I often times make more money this way, which I certainly enjoy.
