I spent some time updating my flights. Most stayed the same or went down a little, some went up.

I did save some $$$ and points for a few minutes of time.

Slot tournament at Venetian, then on to Cosmopolitan
Cosmopolitan . . .time to try them out.

I have been so underwhelmed with every SW sale for the past 2 years from my area, that I don't bother checking prices during a "sale" anymore. Well for this one I checked, and found about $220 R/T for a couple of airports in the northeast area. Some of these fares had been up to $430 just days ago.

    BOOKING TRICK

SWA is again very lenient with changes. I recently book a late July trip - picked the cheapest late night flight a day later. Waiting a few minutes, then went to CHANGE it online to the time and date I really wanted.

    BINGO.

Check out the LOWFARE calendar on SWA home page to see when the cheapest rates are first.

Another trick to go along with the first thing. Keep in mind that ANY flight can be cancelled within 24 hours and get your money back. Automatic. Of course, if you are smart enough to be booking with points, they go back into your account anytime.

I didn't get a $39 fare (I don't think I've ever actually gotten the lowest possible advertised fare), but did save about $125 between five flights for the rest of the year.

$49 o/w from PHL Never saw prices that low although we did get $52 when we booked Phl-LAS a few weeks ago for Oct. Doubt that we'll be going but at least it's a carrot.

My October flight dropped $32, so I rebooked the same flights and now have a credit towards a future trip. Woo Hoo!

Prices have really gone up for our trip the end of next month. Snagged cheap rates when I first booked. Managed to get DD $42 each way out of Dallas--not so cheap now!

I have 4 more trips booked for Vegas this year and they are all booked as one-ways.
I changed 3 of them last night for a total savings of $52.
Not a huge amount but worth it I guess.
