48 Hours - Pre Trip Report

Well going on my second trip to Vegas this year on Friday. Will be a fairly short trip but long enough to get away and relax. With 5 Kids and foster care a break is needed.

We are staying at Binions Fri/Sat night and at Mandalay Bay Sun/Mon (although won't be sleeping monday night, have a redeye at 1AM tuesday). Mandalay Bay was free from my previous trips comp value.

We are going to see the new Spirit of the Dance on Saturday Night and Mystere on Sunday night. I also plan on have one nice dinner (any ideas welcome) to romance my wife

Can't wait to hit the craps tables and take a ride on the "Grain Train".

haa.. best of luck to you Shane.. wish i was you (well just for the weekend.. not to have 5 kids).. enjoy the Grain Train... I recommend the Brain freeze.. but don't be shy to ask to sample a few of the flavors prior to making your selection. 7 come 11 !!!!

Since you are staying Downtown just jump across the street to the 4 Queens and Hugo's Cellar. Really romantic and great food/ service, etc. Price is pretty high but not like most of the Strip joints. Well worth the trip if you're not staying Downtown but since you are don't miss it!

Another great place downtown is Redwood Grill at the California. It was wonderful, nice atmosphere, and not too expensive.

On the strip my favorite is Mon Ami Gabi at Paris.

Thanks for the tips... Will try out one of them this weekend. We changed our plans from Binions however as Lady Luck is comping my rooms, since it is still the Isle of Capri and I play near hear at an Isle of Capri all the time they hooked me up. It's a block or two from FSE but can't beat the price. I probably could have gotten comped at Binion's too but this is a guarantee.
