My usual morning ritual in Las Vegas begins with a hot cup of yerba matte while throwing a couple twenties at the 4Q 10/7 DB progressive. Last week when we arrived the jackpot was over $1350 - higher than I've ever seen it. Much to my surprise, nobody had nailed it by Friday morning. I played for about 20 minutes, was kicking ass and taking names, happy with a good run of winning hands. Then this:

Whoo hoo! My first Vegas royal. I probably don't play enough VP to ever hit another, but this felt damn good...

Wow congrats!

Nice hit! Nice way to get your first Vegas royal! And now maybe you'll play even more and eventually get another...:poke:

Great job on a great high paying play! I wouldn't mind the w2 since its way over $1,200. I usually don't like to play when the royal is from 1,200 to 1,300 because I don't want the hassle of the paperwork, and would rather hit it for 1,150, but for $1450, its worth it!

Congratulations! Those are the best machines around when the progressive builds, and excellent anyway at 10/7 for double bonus. Nothing like that first royal, and particularly when it's so big. But boy, when they're not hitting they can sure take your money in a hurry. Glad you took it instead of left it!

Where in the casino are those located? In back near magnolias?

The 10/7/5 DB machines (100.17%) are upright machines located between the entrance to Magnolia's and Chicago Brewing, on the wall under the restaurants. I know they play for a quarter, can't remember if they are multi-denomination. You can get 9/7 DB at the bar. El Cor has two quarter and one fifty cent coin droppers with this pay table. Haven't found it anywhere else.

Congrats on breaking the Royal ice, many more to follow!

Thanks! Feels good to get the monkey off the back.

I played the 10/7 at El Co and an to again. I will hit these up in Jan.

Nice hit! I always play those machines as well. Those machines have different variants of video poker but only the 10/7 DB is linked to the progressive. Sometimes I see people playing bonus poker or double double bonus poker on that bank of machines and wonder if they are contributing to the progressive or not by playing video poker other than the 10/7 double bonus?

I would doubt it, but I wouldn't rule it out either. I have personally seen something even odder at another casino.

At Tunica Roadhouse there is a multi-game 100-penny progressive that offers 9/6 JoB. The meter goes up one penny per four max bet hands played on the machine (0.25% meter). But one night the VP section is basically empty except for me and one other guy. He's banging away at 9/5 JoB on another bank at the $5 level (no progressive) while I'm taking a gambling break. Well, every 6 hands HE played on the other bank ($150 coin-in), the 100-penny progressive moved up a penny! WTF???

Anyone who knows anything about video poker knows these machines at Four Queens. They have been there for a long time and the screens on these machines show it. If they ever replace these machines, I hope they keep the 10/7 progressive. I have never done well on these machines but wife got 4 aces and 4 threes almost back to back. Congratulations on a sweet win. :woohoo:

Gotta Love Those Old CRT type machines (tube type screen as opposed to the new flat LCD's)
CRT stood for "Cathode Ray Tube" Fax me back to the 70's Scotty!

See vpfree2 for more good machines and location.
