    My Trip Report

    Pre-trip

Southwest had a $49 special so I booked a trip to Vegas, I needed to choose a date so asked one of my friends when he was going to be there. He told me Oct, so I booked a round-trip flight leaving Oct 4th and coming back in exactly a week. About an hour after I booked that flight I got an e-mail from Cosmopolitan for 4 free nights that was good until sometime in September. Ugh. Now I am really bummed and wished I had a booked a trip to go sooner. Then one of my friends from my old job calls me and tells me she is taking her family on a long trip to Yosemite and Disneyland, but they will be with some extended family in Vegas between California trips and that she has Friday June 23rd open with no plans. So I start checking flights, but they are kind of expensive so I decided to bit the bullet and just drive the 6.5 hours through the desert. I don't really enjoy the drive and I have never done it by myself (I love Vegas solo, just not the drive solo) , but I want to go to Vegas! So ... had a safety check done on my car, had the tires checked and put air in them, got 3 myvegas rewards, booked Cosmo for 4 nights (Weds through Sunday), and started researching deals and planning.

The night before I was supposed to leave I got an offer in the mail from my local casino that was good for up to 3 nights at Venetian/Palazzo and included $50 free play and also expired in Sept. I called and was able to book Thursday and Friday so had two rooms for two nights. I wanted the freeplay though!

Here is a rough draft of what was initially scheduled

    Day 1 - Wednesday 6/21
Go to my 7am meeting of local entrepreneurs, hit the road when it ends at 8:30am
Get in to Vegas to play before the 5pm Young at Heart Drawing
Go to Fremont for Young at Heart
El Cortez to use ATM and get Freeplay
    Check in to Cosmo
Dinner buffet at Monte Carlo (MyVegas)

    Day 2 - Thursday 6/22
    Breakfast/lunch buffet at Mirage (MyVegas)
Earn 100 points at TI and get $25 freeplay
    Check in to Palazzo
Join Luck Dragon Slot Club for their freeplay
Join SLS slot club and use ACG coupon
Play at Dowtown Grand to earn point for vodka (use $5 freeplay mailer and $10 freeplay from text)
Play at 4Q to earn points for freeplay and giftcards
RIO for quest points and Diamond lounge, Orleans to use ACG and LVA coupons
Look in to getting diamond tickets for 2 shows
    Back to Cosmo

    Day 3 - Friday 6/23
    No driving today.
Meet friend for lunch at noon at PF Changs at PH
Walk from PH to Palazzo stopping at all CET properties to earn points for quest
See a diamond show on the way and check out a diamond lounge or two
    check out of Palazzo
Walk back on other side of strip and earn quest points at CP
    Play at Cosmo

    Day 4 - Saturday 6/24
    Not a lot planned here
Whatever Diamond show I have a ticket for
    Crepe at Aria (MyVegas)
    Probably Diamond Lounge for dinner

I will write up each day soon and we can see how my planning matched reality and will try and add a few picture.

aces on fremont first day.jpg Night before

The night before I left I only had about $30 cash on me and I wanted to go to El Cortez and take out $1000 to get the 5% freeplay. A real dilemma because I also wanted to hit the Young at Hear Promotion at a Boyd Casino and need a little time to play and be entered in the drawing. As I was debating on what to do (I didn't want to take money out at home and Vegas) my guy handed me $300 and said just use this until you can get to the ATM. Problem solved, will use that to start at Fremont. I upped the withdrawal limit with my bank to be a bit over $1k and will only last for 48 hours and can't be changed for a week.

    Day 1 - Wednesday 6/21

Up at 5am, topped off the tank at Costco and made it to my 7am meeting for local entrepreneurs (Shameless plug, but a discount for you. If you need to send a gift to anyone in the US consider californiafruitgifts.com and use code 4VEGAS for 10% off) that ends at 8:30am. I just can't wait until the end of the meeting, so I bailed before 8am and hit the road.

Got to Fremont at about 2:45pm, valet parked, called home, swiped my card and got 10x slot points and 6x vp points, used the facilities, put card in an 8/5 BP machine and realized I didn't have my wallet. OMG in was on the front seat of my car. So I hightail it back to valet and tell them my wallet is on the front seat and ask if they will get it for me. A guy runs up with it and I gave him $5, he seemed really surprised. I walked back in and sat at the first decent BP machine I saw, it was right in front of keno. It was only quarters and I normally prefer to be able to up my bet, but right now I just want to sit and relax and get a cold drink. I put in a $100 and hit my first 4 OAK pretty quickly and it was aces. Great way to Start Vegas, but not great at starting the trip report. I am not great with the pictures and for some reason it is now at the top of this post and I didn't mean to post yet. Sorry. I'll do the next post with the continuation of day 1 and see if I can do better with the pictures.

    Day 1 continues

Hit aces and cashed out the ticket, put in another $100 and sometimes I switch games for a hand or two just in case. I had switched over to DDB and had a kind of crappy hand so I kept the k and 10 of clubs. Unbelievable the A, Q, and J of clubs all fill in for the best hand of all. I have just won $1k and I have been in Vegas for less than an hour. I have no idea why this had be a handpay, but whatever. I tipped the kid that gave me the money and moved on with my life. royal on Fremont first day.jpg

I played a bit longer and hit a few 4 OAKs, but nothing major. I then went and swiped my card and saw that I had a free buffet. I'm here and I'm starving so why not (I had a half a bagel and a banana at my meeting early this am). I got in a line that took about 15 minutes and then got my table. This buffet was awful, it reminded me of Vegas Vacation "I'll have some more of the yella" or something like that. Food was overcooked and didn't taste great. I ended up with a loaded baked potato and even that had fake bacon. I tried a piece of coconut cake and it was stale. Oh well, the price was right and it solved the hunger issue. I stupidly played some slots where I lost a couple hundred bucks waiting for the drawing for $100 freeplay and I didn't get called. No need to go to El Cortez now to use the ATM so I headed over to the Cosmo to check-in.

I'm Sterling at Cosmo so parking was free. I parked close to the elevator that was closest to check in and then went to the room to the left of regular check-in (autograph lounge I think) and checked in. I didn't ask for an upgrade and she didn't offer, I loved the time they upgraded me to the wraparound suite. For this trip I was comped a 1 bedroom terrace and I didn't ask for an upgrade because I figured it would be awesome no matter what. Well I got to my non smoking room and it smelled gross, like smoke. Also, my terrace was a beautiful view of the Bellagio parking lot.

I quickly unpacked and then went back to where I checked in and said something like - "I don't know if anything can be done about it, but my room really smells. I think maybe someone smoked in it." She basically said okay and then just kept looking at her computer. I finally said something like - so are we done? To which she replied we were. Odd, but maybe they would send someone up to do something. I then went and played at the Chandelier bar because I just wanted to have a couple of drinks before bed and try a verbena.

A couple of interesting things happened at the bar - a couple was sitting to my right play both machines and he got dealt 4 aces. He made a big deal out of it showing his wife and the bartenders and then he only head 3 of the aces. The bartenders were really nice and told him not to do anything and called over the suits who looked at the machine. They talked for a bit and told him they couldn't give him the $200 he would have won, but they did give $200 freeplay. I thought that was pretty nice of them because I have been in casinos where if you mess up the hand you are just SOL.

I'm just playing VP at the bar and drinking my drink when a girl, who knows the bartender, starts talking to me. She is a flight attendant and meeting some friends, but they don't get in until Thursday so she is solo. She also seems like she has been drinking awhile. When I tell her I am here solo she says to me "what do you want to do tonight?" Uhhhh ..... I've been up since 5am and driven all day, I'm going to get some sleep. It was odd. Anyhoo I had my first Verbena and I liked the drink, but don't need to eat that flower again.

I texted home 9:56pm and said I was in the room. Room still smelled. It was a pretty good first day. Had planned ATM at El Cortez and dinner buffet at Monte Carlo, neither happened on this day.

Sounds like a great start to your trip!
Not good about the smelly room - and their
response was not too cool, but other than that
sounds like a nice trip so far. Hope you get some
nice wins in! I loved your planning, but if it is like
most of my trips - I end up just winging it! Who cares
you are in Vegas!! Just do what makes you feel good.
    Enjoy yourself!!

    Day 2 - Thursday 6/22

I wanted to get an early start today because I had a lot of things I wanted to, but I woke up around 8am and kind of just enjoyed the room for a bit. At about 10am housekeeping slipped a card under the door stating they came by already and to let the front desk know if I wanted to the room cleaned up. Wow that seems early. I called down to the desk and told them I was leaving to please have the room cleaned and even he said it was early!
I played a bit at cosmo and had some coffee. I tried the new Simpsons slot and I really like it, just kept hitting bonuses on the .75 bet, but at $1.50 not a thing. simpsons.jpg

I then went an played my favorite ultimate x machine at Cosmo (I won $2k on it last year when I got a nickel royal with a 10x multiplier) and this happened ....
    2nd aces.jpg

I leave Cosmo and my plan is to check in to Palazzo, get my 100 points at TI for $25 freeplay and get the breakfast/lunch buffet at Mirage. I end up pulling in to the Valet for the shops at venetian and was told I could pick it up there or at the Venetian main valet, but not Palazzo. No problem I will just work my way in a circle and end up back at Venetian. I go through the casino and get a card, it looks like I am a new member because my name is a little different on my license and I have a different address. Well this is great because there is a new member promotion. Earn 50 points and play in a slot tournament and also earn freeplay for certain points during the visit.

Head across the street to the Mirage where I had the breakfast/lunch buffet thanks to MyVegas and it was delicious. Light years better than Fremont. Nice that they have beer and wine included, but I didn't have any since I was going to be driving I really wanted to try the new Elvira slot, but people were on it. I dropped $20 in some other machine with no luck, I like to play a little something because even though the MyVegas rewards aren't as good as they used to be I have still managed to find rewards that work for me.

I had this offer from TI that is for discounted rooms and if I stay there I get $50 freeplay and if I don't stay there I can earn 100 points and get $25 freeplay. I went to the mean lady at the slot club and asked if I needed to let her know before I started to which she gave me a hard time and said you need to earn the 100 points first and if you aren't staying here you get $25. So I went to the .50 8/5 BP machines and got the 100 points. Went back to the slot club and the mean lady was busy so the nice gentleman called me to be next. I said to him I earned 100 points so just wanted to get my $25 freeplay. He takes my card, does his magic and then says .... you have $50 freeplay (yeah!) and $10 from point play. I said thanks and went back to VP. I know I won a little here actually, but wasn't enough for me to take pictures or write down.

I then went across the street and checked in to the Palazzo and got my $50 freeplay added to my card. I played this VP game I had never seen before where you got to spin a wheel if you were dealt a 3 oak of higher. It was kind of fun, but I never got very much on the wheel and didn't win on my freeplay. Now that I am considered a new member here I want to try and spend some time earning points for the freeplay on the trip, but it won't be today because I want to get downtown. Also, I didn't use the MyVegas dinner buffet at Monte Carlo yesterday and it is only good M-Th and closes at 10pm.

I decided I would go check out my room and take a 30 minute nap or so before heading downtown. I was really surprised to find this in my room champagne.jpg . A nice card with a business card from a host, must have something to do with my coming in on an offer from my local Indian casino. I took a nap and then went and played in the slot tournament. I played here a little more and I did get aces on ultimate x, but I don't seem to have the picture. I was 9th in the slot tourney at the time and they said that people could play for a few more hours and the top 15 would pay. I
was pretty sure I would stay in the top 15 and get $25 more freeplay. They told me it would be on my card for 30 days and I didn't need to come back at the end of the night. I walked back to Venetian Valet and got my car without a hitch. Those valet guys were working hard in the crazy heat.

Downtown Grand had a Thursday promotion going on where you get a bottle of Deep Eddy's vodka for every 500 points. I had $5 freeplay from a mailer and $10 from the text club thingy (have to get that added at the desk). My favorite 8/5 BP machine was available so sat down there and started playing. It always takes me a few minutes to get used to it thought because the buttons aren't lined up quite right. Doesn't take too long and boom aces. It's good to me right now! DTG aces.jpg

I play some more to get points and my guy told me he wanted me to play $100 of the $300 he let me borrow on VP at $1 when I was ready. I told him it could go pretty fast at $5 a hand, but he insisted. I figured I would do it here since i was earning points for vodka. Got down to his last $5 and guess what I hit? Aces again .... Wok aces.jpg Now he has $600. I guess I'm a pretty good investment for him since he just doubled his money! I ended up getting 1000 points and got a ruby red deep eddy vodka and a sweet tea vodka. I guess I also moved up to silver, but not clear what that gets me. Got my parking ticket validated and headed back to Cosmo. It was getting late and I need to get the Monte Carlo buffet before it closed.

Parked at Cosmo, put my vodka and champagne in the room, walked over to Monte Carlo for dinner. Buffet here was really good too, thank you MyVegas. I dropped a little in the Elvira machine and hit a bonus or two, but the whole premise seems to be boobs and while they were big and bouncy the bonuses were not. I went back to Cosmo and played some more and had a few cocktails. I thought this was an interesting hand on ultimate x - had a 10x multiplier and held a jack but drew and got this awesome result nice hit.jpg

Played a bit of nickle multi play and hit aces with a kicker on DDB aces kicker.jpg

Went back to room (which still smelled) and called in a night. Didn't make it to 4Qs, Lucky Dragon, SLS, RIO, or Orleans and didn't need to hit ATM so no El Cortez. Plus I have now go over the 48 hours to take out $1000. Did manage to fit in quite a bit though and had over 15K steps on my fitbit.

    Day 3 Friday 6/23

Big plans for the day are to meet my friend and her family for lunch and to hit all the CET properties to see how I can do on the quest, get diamond show tickets, play at Palazzo/Venetian. I happen to look on Facebook and see that one of my good friends husbands posted a picture on Thursday about the temperature in Vegas when they arrived. Whoa, what?!! I basically introduced them to VP and comps and she and I used to do tons of girl trips, but then her hubby got interested, plus they moved hours away from me. We still meet in Vegas for March Madness (Beardown Wildcats!), but aren't in contact as much since they moved. Anyway, I texted her and said "are you in Vegas? I am and I am meeting my friend "J" for lunch at PF Changs". She said she was and that they were staying at Paris. We decided to meet up after I had lunch and earned points at PH towards the Quest.

I started off the morning playing at Cosmo. Got dealt this 4 to a royal, how many do you think I will get?
not royal.jpg None. I took a picture, it's not on my phone. Hmmm. I did get two flushes though. Then right after that I got this hand that threw me for a second not royal 2.jpg
About two minute later this happened aces with kicker again.jpg

My friend, J, texted me and told me she and her family were at PF Changs early. I cashed out and headed over. I picked this restaurant because it is one of their favorites and she is glutten free and trying to follow a Vegan diet, plus I can use reward credits here. I told her ahead of time I got the bill with my points, you get the tip. It was wonderful visiting with them and I am so glad that I could make it work. They really enjoyed Yosemite and were headed to Disneyland the next day. They left and I decided to start the quest. I had already opted in on-line. The cheapest blackjack table I could find was $15, ugh. I know basic strategy pretty well and don't mind blackjack, but that is pretty steep. I ended up losing $170 and decided I can't afford to do this quest on table games. I did go play some VP to get my 25 points and managed to hit aces which helped me recover some of the losses from BJ. PH aces.jpg

Texted my friends (D & J) who were in the Paris DL so I headed over there and met up with them. I had a martini and we caught up. They told me that they used their diamond show rewards to get two tickes to see Tenors or Rock tonight at Harrah's and that now you get a generic voucher that you take to the box office and tell them what show you want the ticket to. I decided to see if I could get a ticket to join them and one for another show. I went to the total reward desk and asked if I could get one ticket to two different shows and she told me no, you have to get 2 tickets to one show. Well I was just told they were generic vouchers to I just asked for two. I then went and earned 25 points at Paris where I lost. Headed to Bally's and went to the box office were the lady didn't blink an eye when i asked for one ticket to Tenors of Rock tonight and got a seat right next to my friends and one ticket to the Bronx Wanderers for Saturday. Oh yeah, my friends decided to go on the quest with me. We then played at Bally's and lost. Went to Cromwell and I hit aces again (spoiler alert, this is my last picture of aces for the trip) cromwell aces.jpg

Right after I hit these aces I saw 4 security guys carry a guy out of the casino, each carrying an arm or leg and the guy had a mesh bag over his face.

Well it takes forever to get points at Cromwell on the full pay machines so we all went to the old school goldfish slot machines and were hitting bonuses like crazy. We all go our points and actually left Cromwell a winner.

Got points at Flamingo and lost. Played at the TAG bar and did get a 4 OAK, but was down after the 25 points and a cocktail. Made it to Harrah's right at the end of the hot food in the diamond lounge so had dinner there (salmon and salisbury steak) and then earned 25 points, but lost. I really wanted to get over to V/P and get some play since I still had a room there and we had about 30 minutes until the show was going to start. I told my friends that I was going to run next door and play and would meet them at the Tenors of Rock. I don't know what I was thinking, I forgot about Casino Royal actually being next door. I booked it over to Venetian and found a crappy VP machine right near the entrance. No freeplay on my card so I guess I didn't end up in the top 15 of the slot tourney, I hit a 4 oak and then left and went back to Harrah's for the show. The show was really good, the guys were fun and talented.

After the show I decided that I didn't want to go back to V/P and play there and then have to get back to Cosmo where my stuff was, so I decided to just walk back my friends and we talked about maybe getting together Saturday. They were going to the mob museum and neon museum. I thought I might go downtown, but wasn't sure when. I really wanted to get to V/P to give them some play and I need to check out by 11am. I went back to Cosmo where I played a bit, but had no good wins.
I went back to my room (finally doesn't smell) and left the curtains open deciding I was going to get up super early and go to V/P to play for a few hours.

Never made it to CP for the quest and I still don't have credit for any badges earned - wtf. Glad I didn't try harder on the table games.

    view 1.jpg Day 4 Saturday 6/24

Woke up at 5am. Here is the "beautiful" view from my room at sunrise
    view 2.jpg view 3.jpg

Whatever. I'm in Vegas and it's too hot to sit on the balcony anyway. At 5:30am I was driving to Palazzo and it glorious driving on the strip at that time of day. I did want to put the top down on my convertible to enjoy it, but even at 5:30am it was just a bit too hot. I left my car at Valet and went right in and played on an ultimate x machine for hours. About 3 different people told me about the lady who was playing the night before who had a dealt royal on quarters and won thousands and then hit another one for thousands more. She was big news in this corner of the Palazzo. A lady sat down next to me who was a bit chattier than I prefer, but I was polite. She had aces dealt on 5 play and won $700 and then told me two more times - "I hit aces again". Not me, I couldn't hit anything, although I wanted to hit her. Also, I'm pretty outgoing and will talk to anyone, but when I'm playing VP I don't really want to chat and make friends. Am I the only one who feels that way?

I was losing and it wasn't fun so I decided to go try some slot machines. I played Downton Abbey and hit a nice bonus and then moved to the machine next to it and hit a bonus for about $150. Helped ease the pain from the VP losses. I went to the room and took a quick 30 minute nap and then checked out. After that I played for a bit and got up to 2000 points so that I could get the $40 freeplay bonus for new members. I played titanic and hated it, probably should have known it would not be good since I would expect nothing more than a titanic loss with that kind of theme. Well I have been here for hours and I hope I get some offers from them after that long session, but I was ready to go back to Cosmo. Drove down Koval and up Harmon but the traffic was really backed up and I even saw a taxi dropping someone off on the curb on Harmon near Cosmo. Weird. I got to the parking garage, but the entrance was completely blocked and I couldn't get in. I told security I was staying there and he said you need to park in a different garage. Hmm, I would have to pay to park at Aria or Bellagio and I don't want to have to do anything to show a trip at CET because if I parked at PH I would probably have played there. I wanted to go downtown, but my extra phone battery is in room (long story, but charging port not working) and I don't have a lot of juice left. So on the fly I decide I will go to Orleans.

Orleans was packed!! I couldn't find a place to park so went to Valet. I saw there was a gun show in there, but not sure if that is why there were so many people. I looked in LVA and saw I had a coupon for play $10 get $10 freeplay so decided to do that. I did terribly here, couldn't buy a 4 oak. It was brutal. Suddenly I was really hungry so I went to the Oyster Bar and had a chicken ceaser salad, it was really delicious and hit the spot. While I was eating lunch I looked up what was going on at Cosmo and saw that someone stole a car and barricaded themselves in the garage at about 8am (thank goodness I left at 5:30am!) and that the incident was over (and had been when I tried to get in the garage). I called and asked if the garage was reopened and they told me it was.

Parked at Cosmo and got to my room at 4:45pm and my room hadn't been made up! What is going on with this place?! I also realized I had ACG coupons to use at Orleans that I didn't use. That's what happens when I have to make decisions on the fly! Called the front desk and asked for the room to be made up, and they asked if I wanted new sheets. Which I thought was odd. I said they didn't need to change the sheets, just straightening up the room will be fine.

I needed to be at the Bally's showroom for the Bronx Wanderers at 5:30pm. As I was crossing the street between Cosmo and PH there was a young guy in his 20s running across the street from PH to Cosmo grimacing. I looked down and he didn't have on any shoes. I loudly said "OH MY GOD!" I don't know if he was drunk or what, but he is probably going to have terrible burns on the bottom of his feet. This heat is no joke. Anyway, got to the show and it was great too. I would recommend both of the shows I saw and can't even pick which I enjoyed more. They both did Bohemian Rhapsody which I thought was interesting.

I played a little at Cosmo on the Ultimate x machine I like and I sat down next to a guy who was playing and had $1k in the machine, his poor buddy was just sitting there watching. He was playing quarters and playing super fast. He and I were both losing, but he went through that whole $1k and then put another one in the machine. I lost a couple hundred and that was enough for me. I then walked over to Aria to get my MyVegas reward of a crepe for dinner. I really wanted the bananas foster crepe, but figured that wouldn't be a good dinner. So I got the vegetarian crepe and it was very good. Sorry, picture is not that pretty because I asked for no extra sauce on top. crepe.jpg

I then made my donation to row 702 (I think that's the right number - I know the right row even if I have the number wrong) where I lost a little, but did have one nice hit of a dealt straight with a 10x multiplier on stp.

Went back to Cosmo to play for my last night and played again on my favorite ultimate x machine and had some drinks. A guy sit down next to me and complains bitterly about how much he is losing and it was driving me crazy. He ordered a drink from the cocktail waitress and then left because he had lost like $120 in 10 minutes. She comes back with our drinks and I had to apologize for the guy leaving. A girl sits at that machine and she wasn't really winning either, but complaining guy comes back and says to me "she has my machine, I suppose she hit it big?!" I told him she didn't and then he bitterly says well at least he got his $5 drink. I'm annoyed so I decide to move somewhere else because I don't want him to keep finding me and complaining! I played some more slots, really like the Simpsons game and really hated Sharknado.

Even though I had a lot of great wins, I had some not so great losses so I went to the room and I was down $200 for the trip (that I borrowed from BFs win). Room had been cleaned up and made up for turn down service with the curtains drawn. Nice. I finished off what was left in the bottle of wine I brought with me and enjoyed the hot balcony for a few minutes. I called the front desk and asked what time was checkout time (11am) and if I could get a wake up call for 10am (yes, do you want a follow up? Nope and no need to call back if I don't answer). It would be very odd for me to still be asleep at 10am, but I wanted the call just in case the blackout curtains really did a number on me. I shut my phone down and went to sleep. Sometime later (had to be after midnight) the hotel phone rings and scares me out of sleep. I answer the phone and the guy says something like "housekeeping is outside of your room with the extra pillows you requested." Huh? I didn't request any extra pillows. "okay, I will let them know". WTF Cosmo? no sorry, wrong room or anything? I actually brought my own pillow from home so there is no way I am requesting more pillows!!

I needed to be back in Tucson by 6:30pm for dinner. I thought I would maybe swing by Ak-Chin on my way home and get my free play there and extra reward credits to see if I could make up my $200 loss. It is going to depend on what time I get on the road on Sunday and traffic.

Once again didn't make it to Lucky Dragon, SLS, or 4Qs. I needed one more day.

Day 5 Sunday 6/26 - wrap up, questions and things I forgot to mention earlier.

Got up and packed, tried to enjoy the balcony one last time. Couldn't check out from the tv, but was able to check out on my phone. Left about 10:30am. Stopped at Costco in Henderson for gas. The place was packed, as Costco normally is on a Sunday. Got gas and saw a Starbucks so thought I would get a coffee for the road. The drive through line was super long so I parked and went in. Super long line in there too! Nope, just got in the car and hit the road sans coffee. Thinking to myself this was great, I would drive to Vegas again, no problem. I just need the trip to be a bit longer. At this time I was pretty convinced I could make it to ak-chin and play there briefly and still get home for dinner. By the time I got past Phoenix I knew I couldn't do Ak-Chin, I was starving, and convinced I never wanted to drive to Vegas again. I stopped at Arby's to get a bite to eat and thought I could get home with the gas I had. I couldn't. Had to stop right before heading in to Tucson and got gas and a coffee at Starbucks. Made it to dinner about 10 minutes late.

    Random thoughts and questions

It was great unexpectedly seeing friends in Vegas. We never got together again on Saturday because the closed parking garage really threw my planning off.

I love Cosmo, but that seems like a lot of issues to me (smelly room, housekeeping too early, no housekeeping at all, calling in the middle of the night). Is it worth complaining? Who do I complain to?

My first night I was at the Chandelier bar and I kept earning drink tickets. The bartender told me they were good for 24 hours. I kept two tickets and stopped by the next night and he told me they expired and one of them had just expired by a minute. A minute!!

Please tip the valet guys, it is really hot out there. I have the valet guy at Fremont $5 and he told me lots of people don't tip at all. I wouldn't want to be running and sitting in a hot car when it is 110 outside.

I live in this weather and I couldn't get enough water, plus alcohol dehydrates you too. Make sure you are drinking plenty of water when in Vegas in the summer! I was ordering club sodas and a bottle of water. Which reminds me when I ordered this exact thing at Flamingo the old bitter cocktail waitress told me it was one or the other I couldn't two drinks. Huh? I gave her a bit of a hard time about it being hot and needing water so she did end up bringing them, but told me if she did that for everyone she would never get through her orders. New one on me, I have never been told I could have a water with my drink before.

Thanks for reading along, hope you enjoyed reading about it as much as I enjoyed living it. I don't check in here that often unless I have a trip planned and then I just can't get enough.

Has anyone been getting credit for the CET quest? How long does it take to update?

    Excellent report, @kathiemc23 !
Thanks again for sharing your experiences and observations.
I can't believe so many people would stiff the valet guy when it comes to tipping!

I hope the countdown to your October trip goes quickly for you! :D

I'm curious, where is the nickel ultimate X Machine you like to play at Cosmo?
It's not right here high limit slots is it?
I played next to someone playing nickels on saturday night who kept giving me dirty looks (probably because I play super fast) and I was looking, but I wasn't complaining.. too much, lol

Timspeed ..... I wasn't giving anyone dirty looks! I hope you had better luck than I did on Saturday night at Ultimate X. The guy that was complaining was only there for about 5 minutes, but it was long enough. Playing fast doesn't bother me at all. The machine I like is closer to Clique lounge, near the slots.

    Great report! Really enjoyed following
along. Even though some of your plans
fell a bit short - you sure seemed to get
around a lot. I appreciated your observations
    and details. Thanks for sharing!
Sorry about the bumps at Cosmo. I would
definitely let them know at least about the
smelly room and the housekeeping glitches. Getting
a call in the middle of the night with no apology is ridiculous.

That's definitely where I played...right by Clique (which is also right by High Limit Slots)

Okay. I was thinking of the machines between Clique and high limit slots and I was playing at the machines across from Clique and next to penny slots. Maybe we were playing next to each other, but I promise there were no dirty looks! I was just looking at my machine while losing and drinking! I hope you won. I did really well everyday and that Saturday I couldn't even get a 4 oak with a kicker.

    Nice report!

Sucks about the room. We requested and immediately switched rooms at Bally's on our Sept. trip due to a smoke odor.

Great royal pull with KT suited! But those 10X quad 4s holding a Jack is even more impressive!

And nice story about the guy that mistakenly tossed quad Aces at the bar. It's a good reminder if that ever happens to anyone on a dealt quad, always call someone. You're at the mercy of the casino for it, but they do sometimes honor the hand. Personally though, I tend to double and triple check on dealt quads. Lol

And it's BeeeJay Memorial Row 802 at Aria. I forget how "Memorial" got in there, he still plays those machines. Lol But 702 is Vegas's Aria code, so easy to think that number. ;)
