There will never ever be another entertainer like him. Been a fan since I was a little boy, listen to his music every day and never tire of it. Amazing that he's almost been dead as long as he was alive, and there are literally millions of fans loving his music and missing him to this day. Speaks volumes. Anyone think Justin Bieber will have a week named after him in his hometown? Think his house will become the most visited home on US soil someday? Yeah, me neither. Rest easy EP - you lived more life in 20 years than most men could or would in 100.

Thanks again for the annual reminder. Dan just left for his mountain bike night so I think I'll fire up the stereo and put on some Elvis.

What a great catalogue of music he left for us. Absolutely one of the best entertainers America has ever produced. I attend a couple dozen Veteran's events each year and at a lot of them they'll play "American Trilogy" which sends shivers down my spine. Long live the King!!!

I'll always remember 'Elvis the Pelvis ' although he was dubbed that name earlier on the Milton Berle show, it was on the Ed Sullivan show when tv censors said his moves were too vulgar for tv. LOL.

    Long live Elvis

    Somehow -
This event became on of those life markers = "Do you know where you were, when
you heard about Elvis' death ?"
    *
I happened to be standing next to a guy who answered his phone.
His mother was on the line ( from Memphis ) and she was crying.
She told him "Elvis is dead."
She was REALLY upset !........Elvis was "their" hometown boy.
So, I heard the news before it was broadcasted.
And Elvis' death became somewhat "more personal" to me -
because of her reaction + a phone call directly from Memphis.
    *
I'll still watch a couple minutes of any Elvis movie -
"Viva Las Vegas" is probably the best movie he did. ( friggin' Ann M.helps ! )
And I have an Elvis CD in my car's rotation of music.
    *
.......a shame the way his life played out.
