I would have cancelled my flight for sure!

I checked out of Circa this morning. There wasn't an option to check out on the television. Normally I would just not check out and leave but for some reason, I went to the front desk. Good thing because they were charging me for the night even though I paid in full through Orbitz. Got it solved in about 3 minutes, but I suspect it would have taken a lot longer than 3 minutes had I discovered it later in life.

One other thing about my room, the sink on the left defaulted to burning hot water no matter what you pulled the lever up at. Also I think the makeup mirrors were installed sideways.

Funny I think my makeup mirror was installed wrong too, it was sideways and tilted down quite a bit.

I received a text message from the front desk asking about my stay and saying I could just check out by replying which I did.

Made it back to MN Tuesday just in time for another snow storm. Wrapping up the trip report with a recap of my last two days.

Monday was spent primarily gaming in Circa, as I stated before I would venture out to other downtown casinos for short periods but was drawn back to Circa quite fast. I started the day wrapping up some work loose ends and was able to break free around 10am to eat at Saginaws for breakfast. The food and service were top notch. The owner was making rounds to all the tables and mentioned the opening of the hotel has helped pick up their morning business.

After breakfast I took a stroll over to the D and had a $320 hit using $45 freeplay on pinball.

I then put that tito in $5 WOF and hit a $500 bonus spin.

I cashed out at $800 and proceeded back to Circa where I immediately had close to a $1,000 hit on Buffalo Gold. I took the picture before the bonus was complete because I was excited about the big hit coming 5 wolfs x 12 x 8 paying $864. I don't recall that I have ever had such a big on with any symbols besides the Buffalo. Anyways I was so excited I forgot to take a final picture of the bonus but if I recall correctly it was just under $1,000.

After the Buffalo hit I went to the James Bond machine. I don't know what it is about this game but it is one of the most fun to play. I didn't hit anything big but did have a chip bonus that filled up the entire screen which I have never done before, unfortunately only gold chip but overall not a bad bonus for $1.80 bet.

So at this point I headed back to the room for a nap and pocket dump. With the morning's winnings brought my self back to $1,000 down for the trip.

    Part 2 of Monday.

After a quick nap I went down to the high limit slots and played about 2 hours of Kitty Glitter on $600 buy in. I ended up loosing it all but had a great time and racked up about 1,000 tier points.

Pretty sure this is when I headed over to Pizza Rock for a beer and a slice of pizza but looking back at the pictures and timing of my other posts the exact order is getting a little foggy.

Gambling Tuesday late afternoon didn't end up nearly as well as the morning. I returned to high limit Kitty Glitter and lost a little over $1,000 without any bonuses. I then headed up to the room to shower and get ready for the night. I came back down just in time for MNF to start. I can't say enough how much I enjoyed watching football at Circa, truly amazing.

I had a reservation for Barry's at 7:30 and was seated about 15 mins early. This meal ended up being the highlight of the trip. The entire staff of the restaurant was amazing and the food was outstanding. The food highlight was the bone marrow fettuccine appetizer.

The server prepares the dish tableside by scraping the marrow out of the bone into the fettuccine. After the marrow is removed you then are handed the bone on a napkin and told to hold one end in your mouth. The server then pours a shot of liqueur in the other end of the bone. Truly a great experience. I had the bartender take a video of me doing it for my wife so I didn't get any pictures of the dish when it came out but here is a picture I found on Instagram.

The fettuccine was absolutely delicious and was the best food I had the entire trip.

After the appetizer one of the owners of the restaurant, Donnie Rihn came up to the bar for drink. We ended up talking for quite a while as we found we had some common business interests and then he offered to give me a tour of the restaurant. This was a really cool treat to see the inner workings of kitchen.

Barry was actually running the kitchen this evening since his chef had the night off. I was able to meet Barry as well. Great guy and awesome to see him working very hard, he is the second from the left.

After the tour I ordered the rest of my meal. Filet med rare and shrimp cocktail. Both were very good.

After dinner I was talking with Donnie some more and he introduced me to the 3rd of the 4 owners, Yassine Lyoubi. He and spoke quite a bit as well. Overall it was great to see the owners being so involved in the operation of the restaurant, you can tell they are going to do quite well.

I have a few more points to wrap up with regarding my conversations with a few different casino hosts and back end comps that I will wrap up with in another post.

So Barry Dakake is head chef, co-owner, and the guy who is not wearing a face mask in his own kitchen while barking orders at staff and letting his spittle fly wherever he pleases. Great!!!

Bad timing of the picture really, he had it up the entire time I was there except for a couple seconds.
