I’m also looking forward to seeing some circa room pictures! I stopped in circa for some blackjack 12/8 and I think 12/10, midday mind you, but man was the casino slow. Hopefully it’s a little more exciting for you (or at least profitable) . Thanks for the TR..

I can definitely see me spending some time in Circa, but I can't see me paying their current prices. I'd be interested to see if you think the rooms are of a high enough standard to make the $ worth it, but my assumption is that they are charging what they hope people might pay and the rates will come back to the pack Q2+ next year. Very likely to give Barry's a spin though, a couple of other TRs have posted dinner pics and it looks very good.

Alright finally made it into my room. I went to check-in at 8 am and told my room wasn't ready. This surprised me a bit since I could've check in yesterday. Oh well housekeeping had it ready by about 11am.

Overall the room is pretty amazing. I'm in room 1945 which is a corner studio pool view.

    Pros:
    - great view and windows, view of stadium swim is really impressive.
    - lighting controls are very nice and easy to use.
    - finishes feel high end for the most part. Not sure how they will hold up though.
    - Size of the room is very good, not sure how it compares sf wise to a regular king room but this one is very nice with a lot of sitting areas.

    Negatives:
    - blinds are motor controlled but you need to tug on them to get them started. I found this a little weird as you have to pull realities hard. I spent a lot of time looking for a control for them and even called the front desk. They were not sure how they were operated.
    - tablet doesn't control anything in the room. It does have a music feature but isn't working now. One nice thing about it is that it acs as the phone for the room.

Overall I am very happy with the room and want to spend more time here. They also had a nice welcome present. Any other specific questions let me know.

I would say it is definitely a big step up from you average strip room but not the higher end properties. I paid $400 plus taxes and fees for the 28th which included the 26th and 27th. Definitely high but a fun novelty to be here when the hotel opened. I would think $150 to $200 per night is about right.

Being a Sunday it is busy here today, I'm thinking tomorrow might be a different story. I'll let you know.

You got a very fair opening offer, nothing wrong with that. Ofc it is up to each person to decide value, but I'd be amazed if I walked out of there thinking $200/night was fair dinkum. There's definitely some attraction to it being a new build, stadium swim, etc. But if you are a good bargain hunter, you can usually score 5* centre strip for $200/night without any problems.

Either way, I'll enjoy seeing it unfold - plenty of pics if you can pls! Edit: not sure how I missed the pics :D But keep them coming!! Room does indeed look very decent. Definitely better than a tired and medicore strip room, for sure. I think I've already upgraded my view though, so fair play on that, but still ultimately going to really struggle to part with $200 for downtown.

Do you have access to visit the Legacy Club? I saw some pix on Eater and it looks quite swanky.

Thanks for that, when I was there there were more dealers than customers! Guess my only question is, is there a shower door or am I just not seeing it? The rooms with showers without doors, like at the Downtown Grand really annoy a lot of people!

Pretty sure I was given a handicap accessible room so I would assume the regular rooms do but I am not sure. Surprisingly the water stayed in the shower quite well. Also water pressure and the shower head were really nice.

Yeah I would for sure agree it is overpriced for downtown and it definitely doesn't have the appeal of cosmo so it will be interesting to see where it lands. Also looking forward to what kind of comps they give for rooms.

Good point on the comps, interested to hear how willing they are to market to new customers with no D/GG play history.

    Alright time to recap Sunday.

Sunday was football and gambling all day at Circa. The casino was busy all day and is as good as everyone has said for watching football. The stadium seating had open seating with spots available up until 15 minutes before the first game kicked off. I didn't cash a single bet on the first games but did much better on the afternoon and night games.

I wondered around to a few other casinos, turned $45 freeplay at the D into just over $300 thanks to this hit.

Overall though every time I left Circa for a different casino I found myself wanting to get back to Circa so that is where I spot a majority of the day. Gambling was up and down with a more down. I ended the day with $3,000 remaining in the safe plus some pocket change. Craps took most of the budget for the day with 3 $500 sessions ending in zilch.

Alright after a slow start this morning wrapping up some work issues I am currently at Pizza Rock having a quick beer a d slice before I hit the casino again. Promise to be better on pictures today!

The pizza was great but I ended just buying a slice on my way out, wasn't hungry enough for a whole pizza and you cant buy it by the slice at the bar. Gave c4aps another go at the D afterwards a d ended the same as the others :) one of these times we'll hit a roll.

Agreed, unreasonable for one weekday night, but perfectly reasonable for three nights including weekend nights.

I stayed at The Plaza during a soft reopen after their complete remodel of all rooms several years ago. Things went well then and all other stats, and it was nice staying in a brand new room.

If not for all of the current travel restrictions, I would have likely splurged and reserved the room under the promo you booked.

I did not get a welcome present! My curtains were also not remote controlled but I expected them to be so I kept pushing everything in the room "is THIS the button for the curtains?!" until I figured out duh, just pull 'em open.

Haha who would think curtains would be so complicated. I am still not sure how mine are supposed to be operated. I had to pull way harder than I thought to get the motor to engage to open or close them. Just really didn't seem right. I asked multiple times to different hotel staff and nobody knew how they should be operated. 20201227_115313.jpg

I am 6hinking they just didn't finish installing the buttons for mine. I found a few wires that were not connected. Who knows!

Well what a trip, I had a great time. I am headed to the airport now and running very late. I hit my first hand pay on WOF as I was checking out. Crossing my fingers I make my flight, boarding starts in 15 minutes. Paying out the handbag took about 30 minutes. Crossed my mind to cancel this flight and a get a later one but decided to give if I can make it.
    20201229_094952.jpg

I will do a recap of the last day when I am on the flight home.
