Plus there's a big difference between 10 bucks in cash and 1,000 n RCS. One would have to run $5,000 thru a slot machine in order to accumulate 1,000 RCs to enter a diamond lounge. Another 5,000 for a guest.

THIS I am sure is the reason why as if they really wanted to take cash or a CC it would not be complicated to set up a process to do so.

This is true, but provided you hit multiplier days, then less so. Plus, AC and my local often have "insert your card and get XXX Reward Credits" offers, so that should help some people if you get those.

No point in implementing the requirement then, as it would deter very few.

I disagree, it would allow them to make more money, which is a great incentive to implement the requirement. It will boil down to whether they make more money having people chase RC's for entry, and losing some customers, or keeping most customers and having them pay $10 per entry.

From the total rewards website for AC

Seven Stars are free for 4 pp. Diamonds above 25K are free for 2 pp, below 25K charge is $10 comp dollars per person. Additional guests are $25 comp dollars each.

So it appears getting 25k will be the same as having 15k now..you and a guest can come and go as you please, if you want to bring a 2nd guest it's 2500 reward credits....if it follows AC rules. Naturally they would not let us know the details before we get to that level, that would only make too much sense, thanks CET!

I've seen similar comments on Trip Advisor. If you were a lower tier Diamond and the lounges were a big part of the appeal, it feels like your status is not worth much. Every time they make a TR program change, it seems like they lose a customer for every two or three they get buy in from. I kinda wish they went back to the original intent of the program, look at where they are now and make sure they are on the right track Otherwise, they may end up back where they were post recession fighting for the same handful of customers and overpaying for the privilege.

Truth. And I may actually just do 3 trips where I get 2500tcs for the 5k bonus to get right there at it, instead of 1k trips. Then on the weekends I will just sit in the lounge and leech off of them. That will make me feel better anyways knowing that they actually got me to play less and use more by changing it.

Caesars is just a super shady and dishonest company. You don't tell people they are going to have access to diamond lounges and then at the end of the year after they achieve it change the terms. An honest company would announce this at the beginning of the year and state it starts in 2019 not use it as a scam to bleed people out of a few more bucks.

While I think the timing of the announcement isn't horrible, it could have been earlier. Pretty sure they've announced changes later than this, though. But a scam? No. I don't think a single person in AC or Windsor sees it as a scam. Shady? No. Good time to re-accept, right or wrong, every business can change policies overnight. Good time to fill out a survey, too.

Look at the recent companion card debacle. That was reverted after online/social media outrage, but that really ticked people off. Don't think that will happen here, but it wouldn't hurt.

Folks playing in AC already knew the rules and benefits because it was already active there. The ones who chose to get Diamond for 2018 chose to do so believing (correctly) that nothing will change for them. Those in other parts of the country who chose to get low level diamond for 2018 did not have the same luxury, they got (or were getting) diamond, and then the rug was pulled out from under them with 2 months to go in the year. A scam? No I don't think it is a scam...shady? Yes, absolutely shady as can be...it is nothing more than a money grab to finish out 2017 strong. And yes, a company can change policies overnight, and customers can choose to go somewhere else if they wish and send said company back into bankruptcy, which they just crawled out of.

The title of this thread is very misleading and incorrect. The only thing changing is that diamond members with less than 25,000 points "may be charged a fee" for lounge access for themselves and a guest.

I don't think this change should come as a surprise to anyone whose been diamond for any length of time. It's been their policy in certain markets already anyway, and there were rumors of it spreading to other markets for quite some time.

    Ridiculous corporate bootlicking.

I was told in January I would have access to the diamond lounges through January 2019 if I achieve 15000 tier credits in 2017. Changing that now is just dishonest. I've never been to AC or Windsor so I have no idea about the situations there. I'm sure they are well within their rights to do whatever they want that's not the point, the point is they are liars.

There were multiple threads and the one I started got picked to survive. But the title was from one of the other ones.

Because my thread survived, I just found I was able to edit the title, and did, to add the words "May Be Required" and "Complimentary."

The first post shows all of the relevant information so I think that's sufficient.

Let me rephrase your first statement, "The only thing changing is having to run $100,000 extra through a video poker machine in order to have the same benefits that we did have" or in my market (Tunica) "The only thing changing is you need an extra $1500 in theoretical loss in order to access the same benfits as you did have".

Granted, there are bonuses and I did not account for them, but I am saying what they expect, it's a kick in the teeth for many players.

Technically, you still have access. You would just have to pay to get in, whereas the lowly Gold or Platinum player can't do that.

But I also think they worded this in a way that folks under 25K in 2017 can still get in without paying. You may just have to put up a bit of a stink to get them to not charge the fee, especially if you got Diamond the old fashioned way early in 2017.

John Q Public that isn't aware of the change, will most likely pay and go on with there day. Squeaky wheel gets the grease.

as others have stated the powers to be are implementing the rules that are currently in their ac properties-----however------the ac properties are unique as their lounges not only offer comp liquor but a decent selection of food ,enough to make a meal--[choice of 2 soups,a salad bar,peel-em shrimp and usually a choice of a fish or meat entry as well as pizza and cold cuts and a decent selection of deserts to include soft ice cream---------

their vegas properties come no where near this with their food selection-------their chester pa property charges for liquor and has a limited amount of food though more than their vegas properties----

question is------will they upgrade their non-ac properties to the ac level?------or-----will there be exceptions made?

You would have a better point, and less people would be mad if you were not limited to having to pay via RC's. That 1k RCs may only be worth $10 to the casino (technically less consider their cost of goods, or Theo if someone uses it for free play), but to the consumer it cost a Theo loss of $350 (playing 94% payback slot machines). So yeah...$350 for one time access to a diamond lounge. Not worth it lol.

Not to mention over half of their Vegas lounges are ghost towns....MUCH better booze can be found on the casino floor, Flamingo D Lounge is literally the saddest place I have ever seen. If this sticks they might as well just close half of the Vegas lounges on January 1st.

I thought the Diamond Lounge was a nice perk, but it wasn't one that I really cherished or valued. I found the food to be less than satisfactory, and the drinks I could get at the tables. It was just a nice quiet place to sit, have a drink, and talk. Now that it doesn't offer entrance to all Diamond members, maybe they should call it something else.

But that's the thing: it doesn't exclude anyone. If you're under 25K, you have to pay $10 (+) in RCs, per person, per visit. I don't partake in adult beverages, but that seems to be the only thing of value in Vegas. Wasn't Diamond my last Vegas trip, but I'm going by what almost everyone says. Someone brought up Harrah's PHL, and having to pay for drinks and then possibly entrance? No bueno. Places like that, I'd suspect Shock is correct that some DLs may fall under "may charge".

Not saying this isn't something to be ticked about, but can you imagine if they actually closed the lounge to non-Aspirations? Vote with your feet.
