Yes, for your convenience, they ended the free 7 Star river taxi tickets, and the 2 for 1 Diamond tickets (Diamond tickets were never free), a few months ago. They tried to blame the boat operators, but almost certainly it's just another cost saving cutback. (note my closing)

Went over to the non-smoking casino to introduce myself to @luckylinda . I hope that I changed her luck, as she was gringing awayAlso, I took a break and went to Terrible's Casino in Searchlight, on the way to Gus' Beef Jerky.

Note about Terrible's Casino in Searchlight. They do not have TITO machines, nor do their machines pay out in cash. I saw several machines that had "Call Attendant, hand pay $x.xx". Luckily, I only had $1.40 left out of the money that I spent.

Picked up Beef Jerky at Gus'. Then returned to Harrahs. I put $10.00 of gas in the car. The wind is playing havoc on gas mileage.

Went back and my BFF told me that his tower (the Central Tower) had no water, and he asked to use my room to take a shower.

Dinner is at 6PM. I'm gonna take a quick nap.

So, let me tell you my impressions of Laughlin . . . .

I am 64 years old and if you took a list of ages and drew a line at my age, there would be significantly more people above the line than below it. Not many young people, and definitely very few twenty-somethings.

A much more laid back, sedate crowd. An equal number of rookies and experienced gamblers as you would see in Las Vegas, but the bankroll (on average) was much lower than Las Vegas. I am judging this looking at the bet levels that were being played. Admittedly very scientific, but that was my impression.

Don't come to Laughlin if you're expecting the "Las Vegas" scene.

On the plus side, meal prices are much lower, and IMHO, just as good. More details after we eat at "The Range" steakhouse tonight.

My BFF and I are having the Seafood Tower and splitting a Rib Eye.

    https://www.caesars.com/content/dam/lau/Dining/menu/rangemenu030720forweb.pdf

    I'm looking forward to it.

OK, some additional information about the South Tower rooms at Harrahs Laughlin.

Each room has a wall safe
    upload_2020-3-14_17-24-35.png ,
a single cup (non-Keurig) coffee Maker
    upload_2020-3-14_17-24-58.png ,
    and a refrigerator
    upload_2020-3-14_17-25-19.png
The TVs have a USB socket that can accommodate a USB drive. You can watch your own movies (.mp4 or .mkv format) and the drive must be formatted as FAT32 or NTFS. It WILL NOT work if formatted as exFAT

IMHO, the Sage Steakhouse at Harrahs Laughlin rivals almost any steakhouse that I've eaten at on the Las Vegas strip.

We were seated promptly, and were first served bread
    upload_2020-3-14_19-49-50.png

Next, the seafood tower. It wasn't a tower, per se, but a big plate
    upload_2020-3-14_19-50-29.png
    upload_2020-3-14_19-50-41.png
We split a 14 oz. rib eye with onion straws
    upload_2020-3-14_19-51-46.png upload_2020-3-14_19-52-3.png
Garlic Mashed potatoes, and a creme de menthe before dessert
    upload_2020-3-14_19-53-13.png upload_2020-3-14_19-53-28.png
We had bananas Foster for dessert, but the waiter had a difficult time getting the sauce to light. I will put a video of that up on my youtube channel, but here it is.
    upload_2020-3-14_19-54-43.png
An excellent meal. Paid with RCs, the total was $171.00
BFF and I split up, and I went to sit down at a machine, and broke even. I then sat down to a "deadly" machine . . . 88 Fortunes
    upload_2020-3-14_19-56-16.png
This machine can eat you alive if you don't hit the bonus. It has a max bet of $8.88 a pull, but I played at the next lower level, $5.28.

I got down to a level that was limit +$9.00, so I told myself, one pull at MAX bet, and what do you know, I got the bonus!!

Made $200 and decided to quit. Since I have the "movies on the TV" working, I'm gonna get caught up watching Harley Quinn, or Treadstone. My TC count is a little over 1100, and I'm +$850. See y'all tomorrow.

Well, all good things must come to an end. I got eaten alive this morning at Harrahs, but I did accomplish my goal of making Diamond Plus for the remainder of 2020.

20,000+ tier credits for a spend of $1000 is a fair trade off for me.

We went to Tropicana Laughlin for breakfast.

I had CFS and eggs, and my BFF had Joe's Scramble
    upload_2020-3-15_11-36-4.png upload_2020-3-15_11-36-32.png upload_2020-3-15_11-36-10.png
Some minor slot porn from this morning, but it was mostly "feeding" the slot machines
    upload_2020-3-15_11-37-22.png upload_2020-3-15_11-37-43.png
So, over breakfast, BFF and I decided to cut out Laughlin stay a day short, and we're going back to LV for the final night, which will help us avoid getting up a zero-dark-thirty to drive to McCarran.

BFF was able to get a room at the California hotel, even though I had a comp room at any CET or mLife property.

Dinner "might" be at Jerry's Nugget.

An hour and twenty minutes to go before the swipe and then on the road back to LV.

Perfect timing on the trip report as I'm thinking about booking a room at Harrahs, (wife wants to see Laughlin), one question if you dont mind, are all the towers the same or is one tower better then the others? Thanks in advance

@philvie - The rooms are all pretty much the same, with the exception the South Tower (Closest to the main casino) is "adults only". The casino is pretty stretched out with a North, Central and South tower. If mobility is an issue for you and/or your wife I would choose the central or south tower.

@DaiLun - thank you as always for a great report (and pictures!). This board is lucky to have you as a regular contributor as you always provide us with valuable information.

You mentioned it was windy and I often find that's the case - once you hit "railroad pass" (Coming from vegas) and head into the valley the wind really picks up, and along the Colorado River the same thing. I love the riverboats and am always amazed at how the captains can maneuver them with the high current in the river. The water is almost always clear and fun to see all of the huge carp in the shallows. Definitely a nice diversion. Food at the range looks amazing. You probably didn't have time for the buffet but I have found it to be excellent (including the desserts!) although it is priced high, but you can often find comps/discounts. The cafe is also quite good with a large menu, but the service is very hit and miss. With the amount of "coin in" over those couple of days, be prepared to receive a ton of offers from laughlin for the next year or so.

Final Point - for those of you whose bankroll isn't generating a ton of great offers in vegas and are looking for better comp's, you should seriously consider spending some time in Laughlin. Whether it's harrahs or any of the other casino's I can guarantee you will get offers from them even with minimal play. I understand it's not for everyone, but it doesn't hurt to give it a try. I always get a rental car, but even if you don't, I beleive there are shuttles/busses that run multiple times a day from vegas.

We probably walked past each other at some point. Also stayed in the South Tower. Was there on Saturday and just checked out this morning. I remember the bartender at the bar outside Range saying how the Central Tower having a water issue. It was resolved around 4 I think. Played V/P there for a few hours with my wife. We are definitely not the typical age range for Laughlin as we are both 36 and look late 20's.

Did okay on video poker. Best on the 5 hand machine at $1's ($25 per bet) and the 10 hand at $0.50's (again $25 per bet). Cats, hats and bats killed me. As did my wife's play. Quit when we got to around 4200 tier credits (42,000) when adjusted by 10x. Got dinner at Burro Borracho comped off. Dinner was excellent btw.

Rooms at Harrah's are much better than Riverside, at least if you stay in the South Tower. North and Central are really old.

Had breakfast at Bumbleberry, which was delicious as always.

Laughlin was actually fun this time. Had more life to it than Vegas.

So, for the final night, we ate at the Twin Creeks Steakhouse at Silverton.

    https://edw193gmi952caoiy3mkr4d1-wpengine.netdna-ssl.com/wp-content/uploads/2019/11/21299-1019-TwinCreeks-FALL2019-Dinner-HiRes.pdf

We both had the $40 Three Course finest.
Bread was brought to the table. The back waiter brought a tray to the table and we each picked 2.
    upload_2020-3-16_9-40-44.png upload_2020-3-16_9-41-3.png
    We each had Caesar salad
    upload_2020-3-16_9-42-4.png
I have the 12 oz. Prime Rib, medium rare, with garlic mashed potatoes and broccoli
    upload_2020-3-16_9-42-44.png
BFF had the Steak Frittes with regular French Fries, but we had to send it back because my BFF ordered it "Pittsburg style", but the chef cooked it well done.
    upload_2020-3-16_9-44-28.png
Dinner comes with a mini-creme brulee
    upload_2020-3-16_9-45-7.png
The bill came to $86 including the bottle of San Pellegrio, and after the $75 premium meal comp, we ended up leaving $37.00 cash.

I went over to Four Queens and won a second Yellow Cap and three clear caps for $60.00. ($100 in, $40 TITO out)

So, that ends the TR. Downtown, they had just started implementing the protective measures in the casino, which consisted of (get this), turning off every other slot machine, so there would be an empty space between customers.

    As always, thanks for following!!

@DaiLun thanks, as always, for the great trip report. I have never been to Laughlin and it was nice getting some insight. Good job getting all those TC's and making Diamond Elite.

Room in north tower this weekend

This was a friend room this weekend
There are nicer rooms in north tower along with the older ones

    Most Laughlin rooms are small.

We had the not remodeled central tower. Same furniture as 20 plus years ago.

South tower is the handiest to get to your room but it can be crowded and smokey at the elevators. Machines are at the entrance of elevators

Central elevators are close to nonsmoking casino area also handy to laurel lounge

Fun report, and thank you for sharing @DaiLun! Laughlin info brings back so many memories—was my first Diamond earning casino and we did the junkets many times from our former location. And Twin Creeks! Haven’t been there in years. And a belated thank you for the details on Silver Strike collecting—we’re now hooked and thinking of joining the groups.

Laughlin now has shut off every other slot machine and has taken half the seats from the table games.

Glad that you enjoyed your trip and got one in before the shutdown. Hope to see you in Vegas later this year once we return to normalcy. Oh, by the way, your silver strikes have been very lucky card protectors for me.
