    My Trip Report

Ok so here goes my 1st trip report, though I’ve been going to Vegas 2-4 times a year since the early 90’s after I moved to the greater Los Angeles area. This is my other half’s annual birthday trip ( though 11/1 is his actual b’day). So here we go:

    • Already checked in for our Southwest flights for 11:25 out of Burbank to LAS. We’re just a 15 min car ride from the airport, check in is seldom a hassle and its only 50 min in the air. We could literally be checking in at the Wynn less that 3 hours after Uber picked us up from our house. Just one of the things I love about living where we do
    • We each got teaser offers in July for 3 nites comped at the Wynn + 300 FP + 2 buffets each. Offer had an upgrade to an Encore King, but we’ve already stayed in one of those so we opted for Wynn Panoramic Resort Kings instead. Friends from OH will be joining us as usual and they’ll actually be staying in the spare room. Hoping it’ll be a nice view of the Strip, some pics I’ve seen are largely blocked by the Palazzo
    • We’ve been loyal mLifers for years, but when we planned this trip we were already talking about getting bored with our typical choices of Mandalay/Luxor to stay, as well as jumping all over the mLife family for play. So the email teaser from Wynn in July was perfectly timed. Our play this trip will largely be based at Wynncore, with a probable few hours to Mirage and Bellagio to show some play on our mLife accounts. But Wynn have already sent us the identical Fall offer we’re about to take for Winter as well through 04/2018. If Wynn keep that up, they could very well poach us full time. Especially as our mLife offers aren’t corresponding to our mid level play, which has actually increased over the past few trips. I don’t even show a “gaming” offer on the mLife website at the moment
    • We aren’t huge foodies so there won’t be much in the way of food porn. Reservations for dinner at Maggianos/Mon and Fogo De Chao/Tue are already booked and we’ll use the Wynn buffets for the 3rd nite. I did want to try the infamous Drunken Noodles at Wazuzu, but I anticipate an uphill battle convincing our group to try that for lunch
    • I’ve been enjoying a spa visit/massage every visit for the past couple of years. So earlier today I emailed in a request for a Good Luck Ritual at the Encore Spa on Tue morning. Pending confirmation
    • I’ve decided last minute to try and have some birthday cakes waiting in the room for when we return from dinner Mon nite. If I can ever get out of his earshot I’ll put in a call today to Wynn catering. They have these simple and small but tasty looking vanilla and chocolate birthday cakes on their menu
    • My bankroll is $1000/day. Mostly slots, but I can hold my own on a BJ table if the one armed bandits aren’t co-operating. The $300 FP from the Wynn offer is double/triple what mLife typically offer me, so hoping I can convert that into a nice bump in my bankroll.
    • Alright should literally be checking in at the Wynn in T-24 hours, will update periodically. Plan to video as much play as I can, if I get enough worthwhile content I’ll put together a Youtube video, otherwise hope to post as much slot, chip and TITO porn as I can…

Good luck! I’ll be following along to get my fix until I get back to Wynn in January (unless the airfare gods decide to give me some reasonable fares for a pre turkey day trip).

I love the drunken noodles at Wazuzu. :feedme: Hopefully you can convince the gang to join you.

Thanks for all the responses. In my younger, single days I would have gotten too impatient and just driven out by this point !

Ok. Just waiting to board and will be on our way. The hardest part of any trip is leaving the ferocious beasts behind...

So ready for your trip report as I begin packing for my departure for Wynncore on 11/17. You will have a fantastic time! I know it!

The Encore Spa IMO is my best, not only on the strip, but the most beautiful spa I have ever visited . . . ANYWHERE . . . and as I live in NYC, I've been to a large number of great spas.

I have pretty much completely dropped CET in Vegas (though I am still Seven Stars based on AC play), except to take advantage of slot tournaments and room offers for friends. I would be surprised if you didn't make the switch from MLife. If Wynn had a hotel in the NY metro area, I'd likely drop my CET play in AC entirely as I am that much of a Wynncore fan.

I have never tried the drunken noodles myself but plan to do so in about 2 weeks!

Lastly, I ordered a small cake (served 5 perfectly) for myself for my 51st birthday celebration. I had a wonderful online conversation with the pastry chef, with whom I had shared what I'd be wearing that day and on my trip, which was white, with a touch of hot pink (it was in August) and that I like bling and sterling silver jewelry. The cake tasted fantastic but white, pink and silver were all incorporated in the cake decoration and frosting. The cake was delivered to Lakeside and was brought out at the appropriate time. It's wasn't inexpensive but 10000000% worth it and it probably was less than what dessert for 5 would have been anyway. I can't even remember how specifically the cake tasted (though it was good) but I was blown away by the attention to detail for a small cake that served 5. I felt that much more in love with Wynncore that evening. I'd highly recommend ordering the birthday cake. And you can charge it to your room. Based on your play you might get it comped at the back end.

Enjoy Wynncore and great times with your hubby and friends.

Lunch at Wazuzu is definitely worth it-try to convince your group. We do it once every trip. The Encore Spa is utterly spectacular-I’ve never seen anything quite like it anywhere.

We love Wynn and we hope you will too. We are also Bellagio/MLife refugees and Wynn welcomed us with excellent service and great food. Have a great trip.

I’ll bet you love it there and don’t go back. We didn’t.

Drunken Noodles are an asian fusion dish made with some sort of a noodle which I think is a rice noodle, even though it tasted like an egg noodle to me-comes in a big bowl. It has a soy based sauce and lots of vegetables. You can add shrimp, beef or chicken. I add beef-excellent. Hard to describe really. Mrs. Johnny often has them. I prefer their orange beef or lo mein. I also often have their crunch rolls as an appetizer. Wazuzu's menu is online. Everything there is good. Drunken Noodles are far from the only thing on the menu. Here's a link.

    http://www.visitwynn.com/documents/Wazuzu.pdf?_ga=2.167699902.1686424773.1510070016-836466539.1510070016

We always stay between five days and a week, so it's not usually a case of trading one restaurant for others-we have time to hit our favorites. We always include Wazuzu. Wynn has probably the best on premises dining in Las Vegas, with even more over at Palazzo/Venetian and the Fashion Show Mall. In my opinion, you really can't go wrong at Wynn (except we do not like Jardin-others do). It all depends on what you like. All of Wynn's restaurants post their menus-look at them, read reviews and decide for yourself. Wazuzu is one of the better less formal Asian places in the city-if you like that kind of food I recommend it. If you love Asian and want one of the best in the United States, try Wing Lei. Formal, expensive and maybe the best there is, certainly in Nevada.

We think you'll like it and that you'll keep Wazuzu on your list of Las Vegas favorites. We have never recommended it to anyone who has not come back with a positive review. Worth a try anyway...
