Went to the Redwood at California, good restaurant, good ambiance, reasonable prices. I had the Porterhouse special and thoroughly enjoyed it, but the best was yet to come - it comes with a dessert which is only served with the Porterhouse special. Dessert was ice cream in an apple streudel, it was deeelicious. My friend is not into desserts so I forced myself with another, a shame to let it go to waste.

I enjoyed a bit of eating and gambling there (Pasta Pirate and Lapperts Ice cream).
You have *got* to try Lappert's ice cream in the California. Yes, I'm a teeny bit prejudiced because it's from Kauai, Hawaii (my favorite place on earth, the sacrilege!) but my friend last year tried it and proclaimed it better by far than Ben & Jerry's, and she & I are native Vermonters!

Golden Gate (downtown) has ‘The San Francisco Shrimp Bar and Deli’ which is the home to the world-famous 99-cent shrimp cocktail. I (and many others) do not consider a trip to Vegas to be complete without one or two of these.
Good/Cheap Food Downtown:
Golden Gate: 99-cent shrimp cocktail.
Golden Nugget: Carson Street Café
Golden Nugget: Sunday Champagne Brunch
Fremont: Tony Roma's
