2016 recap email from Total Rewards, strange.

So last night I get this email from TR and it says congrats James you earned Platinum status for 2017.I scroll down to read I earned 811 tier credits 3281 reward credits ($32.81) .(Nowhere near enough to jump from Gold to Platinum)

I do have the Total Rewards Visa Card for the past few years,and did have Platinum status for 2 years because of that but have been back to being Gold for over a year..I did not charge more than $1000 on the card all year.

I thought a mistake for sure,but logging into my account it shows Platinum..
The only thing I like about it is the private check-in room at the Rio and I guess the discount in the shops helps also..
This happen to anyone else??
 
Yes, I also got an odd email from TR. It had the same subject matter yours did, but told me nothing- just had a bunch of "deals" available. Thought it was kinda odd with that title!
 
I got the same platinum email. I only had about 900 tier credits and got platinum status. I also have the CC but I only charged a $4 item to get the bonus years ago and haven't used it since. I too dropped back to gold when they added the spend requirement.

Also, I didn't play at any total rewards casinos since June 2016 and hardly then. Most of my measly 900 tier credits was in February.

I got the same thing. I figured it was because I did not use my card at all last year. Sad year no trips.
 
I would check their website to see if it agrees with the email. With CET, you never know.
 
I got an email too saying I earned Diamond. I just figured it's because I earned it last year which means I retain diamond for this year.
 
You guys must be high rollers, whales. Congrats!
I don't have Platinum status anywhere: Mlife, Indentity, Grazie, too hard to get.
Total Rewards Platinum also out of reach for me.
 
Other than maybe a separate line for check in and a few restaurants, there's no difference between Platinum and Gold so don't get too excited.

I am not excited. I typically only play poker tournaments at CET properties. It is good for free parking in Atlantic City though.

Not for nothing, with the parking fees they charge in AC (especially if there's an event) and they way I come and go from there multiple times a year, I am thrilled :). But I am pretty easy to please.
 
Now it's even stranger that some people got the upgrade and others did not.

Tonelocg,have a great trip! Can you please inquire about this if you pass by the TR counter along the way?
