And I wouldn't spend a penny more for any of those as an upgrade.
Agreed. Even strip view does not mean much to me, or high roller view. As long as it's not HVAC view (which happened only a few times), the mountain, desert, strip, arena all sceneries are pretty good anyways. I don't mind whichever one comes up.
I don't mind the HVAC view, I spend all of 30 seconds looking and then the curtains probably don't open again.
Any examples of $50, $100 sandwiches tricks that got amazing upgrades???
I got 7 nights in an Augustus Tower room looking at Bellagio fountains on a high floor for $50 or $100 (I used to drink a lot more then).
That was an upgrade from the cheapest room in 2009, whatever that was then. My room was part of a block poker package with Ladbrokes and from memory most of them had the cheapest room.
I always offer $50-100 at Cosmo when I check in there. To make sure I get a BT FV room. Cheap enough when I'm there for ~2 weeks. To me, at least*
*I've checked in ~11am those times, too.
^^^^^Didn't we all my friend, didn’t we all....
I've done a $50 sandwich at Luxor. Booked the basic room with a MyVegas discount, got upgraded to a 2 queen tower suite with a nice view, for 5 days.
Did a $50 sandwich at Bellagio, booked 2 nights for free with a MyVegas comp, got put to a high floor, center view of the fountains.
$50 at Harrah's, went from the basic room to a slightly less basic room, with a view of CP's. That one wasn't quite worth it IMO.
Did $50 at The Linq during DefCon, the guy gave me my money back because there was nothing he could do. He did put me on a higher floor and let me pick where I wanted to be.
I'll probably be doing $50 at the Excalibur during CES in a month or so.
I did a $50 sandwich at Flamingo because I hate their small rooms and wanted something a little bigger. The person gave me my money back. In general , I feel like there is no difference between the $50 and $20 sandwich. If they have the room, you get it. If no, no luck. For that reason, I would not recommend the $50 or $100 sandwich, let alone the $200 sandwich.
