Do any casinos still have this lobster crane game? I took this pic when the Las Vegas club was in operation. For $2 if you catch a lobster they would cook it for you for free.

I don't know of any casino that currently has one. However, Mickie Finzz bar on Fremont Street has one (in the same building as Hennesseys and across from the Heart Attack Grill). I've won on it several times! You can see a pic of it in the gallery on their website. http://www.mickiefinnzlasvegas.com/gallery.html

Oh yeah I totally forgot about that, I was there last April and the alcohol made me forget about it.

I should add that I have never won a single lobster but I'm determined to win one someday. I estimate that I played about $100 in total over many, many times. A few times I had the lobster in mid-air but the lobster would flap its tail vigorously and get itself loose from the grasp of the claw and fall back into the water. So close but yet so far (lol). I vaguely remember seeing a lobster machine at Orleans once but I may have imagined seeing the machine.

Salukidean you make it sound easy. I could have bought 2 lobster dinners with the $100 that I lost trying to win it (lol).

Honestly, I would have thought you were kidding if there wasn't a damn picture. I lol'ed (I laughed because its probably the most absurd batshit-crazy idea for a crane game I've ever seen, I feel bad for the lobster's situation)

^ Consider The Lobster, by David Foster Wallace (long read, like all David Foster Wallace writings)

Don't feel bad for those lobsters. I'm sure they live a lot longer life than those in the tank at any steak house!

I just saw one of these, for the first time, yesterday !
BAR RESCUE --- that cable show where the heavy guy goes in to
a money losing bar + barks at some loser employee.
Verbally insults a few people/ owner -- then, spruces up the bar + WHAMO !....it's a winner !
*
The first thing the heavy guy said about the Lobster tank game --- "This goes FIRST ! OUT ! "
They mentioned animal activists were complaining about it.
One quick shot - shows the lobster losing it's claw - trying to be picked up.
Then, the cook throws it into a none boiling pot !

I watched a man "catch" a lobster at the game inside Vegas Club. An employee there told me this man came in every day and always caught one! Not sure how much each catch cost him........
Good luck. :beer::beer:

I can remember the Galoping Gourmet, Graham Kerr, speaking into the camera, beseeching his audience to take an ice pick and stab in between its eyes to dispatch the Lobster before steaming.

As for the $2 crane, there is one local and my daughter is great with stuffed animals, so I would like to see how she does with crustaceans.

I searched the lobster game and came across this website that manufactures the Lobster Zone game. But it doesn't say where the games are located. However, any establishment can purchase a machine if they so desire. It takes about 1 year to make a profit on the return of investment. Not worth it if you ask me. I would want to see profits in a couple of months, just my honest opinion.

Edited: That could be why the bar rescue guy said "get it out!"
