2 for 1 MM TR feat BoostedRS and Dynasty22 PH 3/15-3/20 (LIVE)

So it’s about time to embark on my favorite time of the year! Our annual March Madness Vegas trip! To attempt to help me out with maintaining this as a LIVE TR both @Dynasty22 and I will be sharing this. In the past I have struggled at making these as well as keeping up. Especially when I take 10 minutes to make a post and Tapatalk decides to just go FUBAR and not post it! My goal this time is to have an awesome live TR with the help of a new friend as well as have a blast in Vegas!

I’m going to keep my normal format and try to explain the who, what, where, and how much. @Dynasty22 can add his on however he chooses!

Background

This year there will be 3 of us going. We are all 30-32 males. I’m from Columbus, Ohio and two of my buddies are making the trip up here from hometown to fly out with me. I will refer to these people as J and T later on. J is my normal gambling adventure buddy. We have been to all kinds of places to gamble/vacation including Vegas, Laughlin, Atlantic City, Chicago, etc. We plan to possible do Atlantis this year as well. T from what he said hasn’t been to Vegas in over 10 years when he couldn’t gamble or drink. So we will say this is first trip because he couldn’t do any of the fun things.


Gambling Habits

I pretty much play anything. I try to stick to mostly blackjack but have to mix it up sometimes. I for some reason can’t get enough of the Monopoly(older ones, new ones blow), Buffalo, as well as the Wizard of Oz slots. Other than those I attempt to play as little slots as possible as they annihilate my bankroll normally. I also have a new found love for UTH so I will play plenty of that on this trip as well. Other than that I’ll dabble in some craps, VP, and carney games.

I plan to do a lot of sports betting. This time I am just going to follow someone on Twitter who seems to have been doing pretty well. Last year I did all this research, did trends, analysis, listened to podcasts, and well I plan ol’ sucked ass. This year I’m just going to follow someone and hope they do better than I do. I’ll post all my bets here.

Flight

Flying out on Southwest from Columbus on Wednesday at 4:30 pm. Will this be bad karma to try and get pre-boarding? So long story short I messed up my back by falling on ice a couple months ago and sometimes it’s rough to stand for long periods.

Hotel

Planet Hollywood - March 15-20st. Not really sure on the room type, I think it is a Resort Room, my buddy dealt with the host. (I will find out) We both have March Madness party tickets for the PH party on Thur-Sunday and a small amount of freeplay.

I thought about double booking as I have offers at other casinos but they just aren’t that great for me to waste my time IMO.


To-Do

I always try and put a few new things on the bucket list but well they look good on paper but most of the time I don’t do even half of them. It ends up I get caught up in the moment, get drunk, or just don’t care as much anymore and am content at what I’m doing.

Some of the things on my list are:

- Go Downtown and visit some of the places I haven’t seen (Count’s Kustoms, Pinball Hall of Fame, Toy Shack, Gamblers General Store). Also to check out the slots the D bought from the Rivera on the 2nd floor and play the Sigma Derby.
- We plan rented a car so we plan to visit some casinos I’ve never visited to collect $1 and $5 chips. Both J and I collect cihps and are trying to add to the collection. I plan to visit Jokers Wild, Skyline, Big Horn, Lucky Club, to name a few. I’ll take some pictures of these gems.
- Meet up with some board members
- Possible Las Vegas Speed and drive a few laps in an exotic car? (This seems fun but have heard mixed reviews. I’ve owned some fast cars in the past so not sure if it will tickle my fancy.)


Gambling March Madness Games

I was reading the MM Facebook group on interesting things people do so I decided to take a few things from them.

Everyday (Thursday – Sunday) us 3 and maybe Dynasty22 are going to put a $20 bet on a game either spread, O/U, ML, etc. Hopefully nobody picks any stupid ones but it is what it is. Then put all the tickets into a hat and then I’m going to try and find a hot random girl to draw one. (I added the hot girl part. Makes it more fun!) Then whoever ticket is drawn gets the other ones.

Next game is also everyday we will pick a 3 game parlay probably for $5/10 a person. Each person picks their leg of the parlay with whatever they want to add. Whoever’s game loses for the next day pays for the ticket. So if my game wins and both J and T’s game losses they split the $15/30 (pending the amount we choose). If we win we start over and all pay again.

 

My son is also going for MM, but I don't want to know what him and his friends are doing. LOL. I will be following along.

 

Probably up to no good! March Madness mixed with St Patty's day in Vegas?!? Haha

 

@BoostedRS and I have been talking about this for weeks, glad it's finally around the corner!
This trip will consist of me, my girlfriend, my dad, stepmom, and little sister. All the flights will be on Southwest and we actually fly out of IND on the 14th and go to LA for 2 days then fly to LAS on the 16th till the 20th. While in LA we are taking the little sister to Disney and seeing some family while we're out there. If people are interested I can include updates and such from there, if not then I can wait till we get to Vegas to start contributing.

In Vegas we are staying at PH where my Host Hunter is based. I play HL BJ but will dabble in other games for fun. We have tickets for the MM viewing party but I think we'll only go to them on Saturday and/or Sunday.

This will be my girlfriends first time in Vegas so looking forward to showing her the sights and sounds and hopefully she will catch the Vegas bug.

Hunter setup the limo to pick us up upon arrival on the 16th and we are in a Z bay suite on the 51st floor of the South towers. It's a 2 bedroom suite. I stayed in it on my last trip but this time I'll try to include pictures.

I will probably be doing a lot more hit and run shorter sessions of BJ for the first few days of the trip then the last couple nights I'll log longer sessions.

Right now are set plans are reservations at Koi, Strip House, Mon Ami Gab, and Lotus of Siam. Besides that it will be lots of drinking, gambling, shopping, and just whatever else comes our way. I'll be up for meeting up with other members.

My bankroll for the trip will be 30k. This is my pre trip porn. Hopefully will bring home double and lots of memories and new friends!

Thanks for the follow! It's so much fun to look back at your old TRs and look at how your trips have evolved. It is a lot of work but totally worth it.

 

Don't follow anyone on Twitter, what I do when in a sports betting funk is draw teams and o/u out of a hat then bet whatever comes out....remember the sharks only hit around 57% during a great year... what the hat does-- being 100% random-- is knock out the 2-10 or 2-12 catastrophic degen gambling days and pretty much ruin your trip.. it also knocks out the 12-2 days however you might get lucky and go 7-5 or 8-4....I only do this when on a bad run and want to break things up

 

I'm not sure I understand the logic here? With drawing out of a hat it is completely random but you are still just as likely to have a bad day/good day as following a capper? I would rather go with someone who has logic and analyzed the teams rather then random? You still have a 50/50 chance? Maybe I'm missing something here.

 

No you're correct the hat is totally random just like the cat on Twitter the only difference is the twitter guy is more likely to go 2-8 or3-7 than "the hat". That's been my experience over 30 years.
I read where only 7-8% of cappers in a given year actually turn a profit, I'm solidly in 92% that dont most years

I know what you are saying. I don't really do much betting except during MM and right before to try and get ready. I might end up doing my own but not sure. I just assumed a "pro" would be better than I am.
