    My Trip Report

    WHEW!
I need to stop planning on going for 2 nights and staying 5. I also need to cut back the amount of Vegas trips per year (this is 11 or 12 I lost count).
We decided to leave Thursday ngihtr instead of Friady morning as planned because I had a couple of free nights at Buffalo Bills so we got 2 rooms for one night (we had 8 people total). We arrived so late that we only stayed up a couple hours but we weere glad we were there due to the fact that we weren't goign to have to drive in the heat and that we were only 30 minutes from Vega$. We had breakfast with some comped buffets (average) and headed out as the Flamingo said I could check in early). One cool thing was that I met Jimmy Fallon from SNL and I am a fan. On to the Flmaingo!
We arrived at the Flamingo at about 11am and of course all of the other lines went faster than VIP so we waited about 20-25 mins to check in only to find that our rooms weren't ready. After much debate and confusion and gambling, we finally checked in at 3pm, regular check-in time.
We decided to go into the pool right away. I really enjoyed the pool although it may have been a bit crowded. The music was good and the people were mostly good looking.
Friday night we decided to go downtown for a while as we always do. It was fun as always. From there we went to play $1 BJ at Sahara so our funds would deplete completely the first night. Everyone went to bed around 3:30 am except for myself and one of my friends who ended up rolling back in at 7am after some "whatever happens in Vegas stays in Vegas" time.
Actually, I didn't go right to sleep as I had to check in to my cabana at 8am (well, I didn't HAVE to but I wanted first choice). I hti the spa at 7am for a little relaxation until 8am and I checked into the caban and hit an hour nap before heading back upstairs.
2pm I slowly roll down to the cabana where my friends have been most of the day (we only had it until 4pm). I reccommend buying a half day at the cabana from 12-4. We had the whole day from 8-4 comped, but we would buy a half day. There are only four and you get snacks and drinks, it is worth it.
The people that I travel with generally do not like buffets but for some reason all of us really like the MGM Grand Buffet. They like the Filet Mignon and I like the steamed crab legs, so we headed there for dinner. It was good as always, plus I had a line pass from the last time that I saved!
We had tickets to see Amazing Jonathan for Saturday night. This guy is freaking funny! He had an opening act that was really cool and tehn he came out. The first half of his show was better than the second, but nonetheless it was a good time. My friends and I definitely got some one liners that we will be using frequently. After the show we went over to the IP to check out the new "Legends Pit" where they have celebirty look-a-like dealers. We sat with Madonna for a while. They don't really look like the performers, but it is still fun. The IP was bumpin! I have never liked that place until now!
Saturday night was just another ngiht of gambling as usual, nothing special.
Four of my friends left on Sunday and my signif and I and my sister and her boyfriend decided to stay with free rooms that I had at Main Street Station(I still love this place). We gambled all day, I don't remember where we ate.
Monday we deided to do soem things that I have been wanting to do but never get around to. I took them to Green Valley Ranch because I love it and we went to see Air Play at the Tropicana (minus the cheese, the acrobatics are very good, its worth it if you are in the area), we also went to the gambling museum in the Trop (free coupon with free pull), it was soooooo cool, I can't believe I have never been! At this time we decided to stay one more night as it was pushing evening and it was a free 3 night stay anyway! We went in early, about midnight, and left at 8:30 am for home. I had never slept in the car before yesterday, but I totally did and I totally reccommend it. GOOD TIMES!

Paul, You said you were in the Tropicana on your visit. What's your opinion of it? I have been reading reports that it's getting run down. Most people think that with the remodeling about to happen, Aztar doesn't want to put any more dollars into it. I not staying there on my next trip because of this. Normally its my home casino. Was I justified or are people being a bit too critical?

PS: Will be Vegas in 4 days, can still make new reservations.

The Trop actually looks a little better to me. I think they are definitely trying to lure more people with the Air Play show. The casino seemed to be laid out better, and it didn't look as cluttered.

PrincePaul....Well I went ahead and changed my reservation to the Tropicana. I am still holding on to the second halfs stay at the Luxor. I figured that I could cancel that after I'm at the Trop and settled in. This gives me an option just in case. I talked to a casino host and have a 5 rating on my last stay there. Almost all of it on the craps table. This time I'm going to spend additional time at BJ. All things being equal, this will earn more comp dollars if my action is maintained. Thanks for the info, it made my decision much easier.
