This past week my children (17 & 21) and I went to see George Orwell's, 1984. If you have the opportunity to see, I highly recommend it. My children and I have seen many Broadway productions, and I must say, this one has left us talking, deeply, about many different things.

Tom Sturridge (Winston) and Olivia Wilde (Julia) were fantastic. Before seeing it, I had read many reviews which included terms such as "torture porn". Although parts were rather graphic, I did not find it overly disturbing, perhaps I am just desensitized from watching horror/slasher films like SAW and Hostel, etc over the years????

Anyway, I really found it intriguing, thought provoking, and even a little frightful, in its own unique way. As stated, if you can, go see it.

Oh, one more thought in the event anyone is thinking about going to see it. Drink/eat cautiously before going. The show is timed for 101 mins, there is no intermission, and it is clearly stated ( as well as verbally stated by the ushers), if you leave your seat during the show you will not be permitted back into the theater, period.
