    My Trip Report

So this will be my first trip report. I go to Vegas usually 4 times per year, mostly solo. So far this year I went in February shortly before the closure, July right after the 4th crowds departed and August with my Son who just became of gambling age. When I got the Nov/Dec offer from 4Q of $300 free play and $80 from Binion’s, I couldn’t pass it up.
I flew nonstop Spirit on a mostly full plane. Encouragingly, the attendants were very strict on proper mask usage. Uneventful flight, grabbed a rental car and was checked into 4Q without any delay. Time for some VP.
I went to Chicago Brewing Co and being a Wednesday, I had no trouble hopping on one of the bartop machines. Full disclosure, I only play full-pay games in Vegas. Being a degenerate gambler, I will relax that requirement at my local to get my gambling fix. The plexiglass barriers did make me feel more comfortable. I downloaded my first $100 free play and had built it up to $200 when I held 2 aces and drew the other 2, no kicker, to put me up $400. I gave back $100 and decided to call it a night + $300.

    Day 2
I stay on east coast time, so I’m usually on a machine by 6 am. Played uneventfully until well into the afternoon on my remaining 4Q & Binion’s free play. Needing a break, I wandered over to the Vue bar at Theb D. I like sitting at the lower machine at the end of the bar. I had $55 free play and had just received my first beer when this happened 63EFBBBB-D99E-46B1-B323-7A8DF47FB8E7.jpeg
Only the second dealt royal I’ve had in 13 years of ALOT of Vp hands. After getting the W2g, I played long enough to get quad aces for another $100 and headed to Magnolias for dinner. After dinner I decided I wanted a few drinks before turning in, so I put up with the $16/point and played DDB at the bar. I had enough quads to keep me positive by about $40 when I drew the 4th ace along with the kicker 61D4D5FC-4B54-4ECD-955B-2D50D99B211C.jpeg
That seemed like a great time to turn in, so I ended day 2 up $1600. Trip total +1900.
I’ll post the final day and observations tomorrow.

That’s what prompted me to write a trip report. When people started commenting on the odds of drawing 4 cards to complete the royal, I had to report what happened to me. On that note, I might as well post day #3.
My day 3 plan was to use the $5 free play for 50 points at Golden Gate coupon from ACG. I went to the player’s club at 8am and then started on the BP progressives. I was on my second coffee and down about $30 when an old friend came to greet me.

That’s right, my second dealt royal in about 6 hours of playing time! After the shock wore off, I managed to get 900 of the 1000 points for the free play before I ran out of steam. At that point, I had accomplished everything I could have hoped for so I headed back to 4Q to give them enough play to maintain my comp level. My final hand of the trip was quad aces, no kicker, and I decided to turn in early since I had to head for the airport at 6am. Day 3 total + 1100.
Final tally +3000, comped room & food, $99 flight on Spirit & $95 Alamo car rental.

    Congrats! Amazing! 2 dealt royals.
I played so many years with more hands per hour than most players, never ever got a dealt royal.
I have payed many cycles of 650K hands.

On the other hand, dealt 4Awk is 3 times easier to get, and I got more than 20 times, just never got royal.

Wow. Congrats on the great trip!!! Two dealt royals in 6 hours??? I dunno how much you played in that time frame, but in a span of 4000 deals doing that would be about 4000/649,740^2 or 1 in 105.5 million! Should have saved that luck for Powerball or Megabucks! :poke:

I play fast, at least 1000 hands per hour. I’ve had some nice streaks like 3 royals in 2 days but this just blew me away.

CONGRATS on those 2 drawn royals!

I have never had one, but once I discarded all the cards, and the redraw gave me a royal for over $3200!
(It was a 10-coin in DB machine.) I wonder what the odds are on this?

This is strategy dependent. But for a lot of non-wild games it occurs about one in 15 million hands on average.
