    My Trip Report

Well, after thinking about this and how you have to tell the bad with the good . . . .

I had many objectives on this trip:

1)Win money (always the #1 objective)
2)Collect $730 in PUYL (Play Until You Lose) chips for my 2017 collection
3)Participate in the MillionaireMaker slot tournament
4)Upgrade my ADT, since I had low played until it was affecting my offers.

So, I made 3 out Of 4, but I did set a "record" of sorts.

Got there at about 8:15PM, it was another brutal 6 hour drive from the South Bay.

Had been munching all trip, so I wasn't hungry. Checked in and started playing.

Finally hit the sack at about 1:30AM, made a 2500TC day, and was down less than budget. No slot porn, and spent most of the night playing Wonder 4 Tower and Buffalo Gold.

OK, tomorrow was the slot tournament.

Woke up at 6AM. Went downstairs to play some Buffalo Gold, won a few bucks back, decided to go over to Hard Rock since they had one of only two Buffalo Grand machines.

Sat down and got the bonus. 103 Free spins, ended up with this . . .

So, that plus a couple of small wins and I'm now down half a day's budget.

went back over to register for the slot tournament.

The earliest squad times were 11:50AM Saturday and Sunday. Decided that I would put in about 1000TC at Tahoe and put in a 1500TC day in Reno, Two 2500 TC days should up my ADT appreciably.

Went to the squad and sat down at my machine. I noticed that the name on the machine next to me as "D.Y.". I thought to myself, I have a cousin (by marriage) named "D.Y.". Well, "D.Y." sat down and sure enough, it was him . . . We hadn't seen each other in about 10 years, but he remembered me and I remembered him.

To make a long story short, the 3 minute round was all I saw of him. MY SCORE WAS SO LOW . . . . . it didn't even show on the first set of standings . . .for the squad. I didn't even make 100,000 points . . . . It made my decision clear as to whether or not I'd show up the next day. "D.Y." and I said our goodbyes and I got in the car and headed for Reno.

Stopped at Atlantis to have the combo pan roast. Here's a picture of the Pan Roast with a sample of the seafood (scallop, mussel, shrimp, oyster). It reaffirmed the fact that, though some people love the Pan Roast, it's just not for me.

Went to Reno and saw my host, and his boss. Gave her a box of Jinju Chocolates, told them both that I couldn't stay long, but wanted to come up to say hello.

Kevin Winters (GM of Harrahs Reno) came over and when I told him what I scored in the MM tournament, he remarked that he had never heard of a score that low . . . OK, thanks . . . .

So, Harrahs Reno has been upgrading their machines, and they have a Buffalo Gold and a Wonder 4 Tower on each side of the casino.

Put in about 1400TC in Reno, which made about 2500TC for the day.

Hit this nice Buffalo Stampede hit.

So, on my way back to Tahoe, I debated whether or not I should play in the second round. I had accomplished most of my objectives, and the chances of me doing anything in the second round to offset my horrific first raound were, well, "slim to none and slim had left town"., So, I decided to go to bed early, and leave when I woke up.

Got back at about 7PM and went to the buffet for dinner. My $60 comp covered the meal, a lobster tail and a bottle of wine.

Was in bed at 8:30PM, woke up at 5AM, and debated on watching a movie and then heading out, but after mulling it over, I decided that early on the road was probably the best choice.

So, the net of the trip was . . . .

two 2500 TC days below budget
$730 in PUYL chips, which brings my total to $2700 to start 2017.
    three comped meals
    increased my ADT

All, in all, not bad, but I'm swearing off slot tournaments FOREVER!!

Thanks for sharing. Have you tried a pan roast at Harrah's LV Oyster Bar? Very good!

sounds like a nice little trip. And I agree with you on the tournaments, with 1 exception - if you have the time it doesn't hurt to at least participate in the first session. If the first session is average, to above average, then do further sessions. If though as in your case you are way below normal, then of course no need to continue to hang around and waste time with it.

Good luck on your upcoming trip to vegas!

Did that tourney have the extra round on Friday? The last one i did their had rounds on Friday, Saturday and Sunday. Then they took your best two day total. The Friday round is optional.

Yeah, there was, but anyone who lives in the SF Bay Area knows that if you're going to Reno/Tahoe on a weekend, to make it out of town without hitting traffic, you'd have to leave before noon.

    I have a kid in school and I couldn't leave before 2PM.

Great report. Nice hit on Buffalo Gold. The very first time I played those was at Monte Carlo this spring. I hit for like $600-$700 on 2 different machines. So my love for the machine developed. Since then, these machines have done nothing but kick my ass no matter where I play them :(. So - AWESOME hit.

    So, among the Buffalo machines . . . .

    Buffalo
    Buffalo Deluxe
    Buffalo Stampede
    Buffalo Gold
    Buffalo Grand

    Wonder 4
    Wonder 4 Jackpot
    Wonder 4 Tower

I don't think I missed any, but feel free to add one if I did.

    Which one is your favorite??

I was wrong. It's not the Buffalo Gold that I like, it's the Buffalo Grand. The one with the wheel.

Kinda what I figured. I can never make it on Fridays either. I did place in the last one i did and got $400 in free play. I also got a goodie bag for winning my "round" on Sunday. I've only played in a few slot tourneys but that's the only thing I've ever won.
