Pinny, I would have to say Pala. But maybe that's just becuase I've been there a lot more. Harrah's is growing on me... especially with their offers.

Pala is a little closer to me, I get free rooms, and the rooms are fine by me, a little casino cash, the pool and spa and cabana area is great, the machines have been good to me and most of the staff is is great. The food is the tipping point, really good stuff all around.

Harrah's is just a tad further for me, I get free rooms, pretty nice ones, substancially more casino cash, the pool's okay, machines have been hit and miss, staff is pretty good, but food for them is an issue. According to their Facebook admit, changes are on the way in 2010. That would be good...

I like Pala a lot. I've only eaten there once and don't remember what I had (probably a hamburger or something). I remember my buddy and I laughing though at the "Surf and Turf" special of the night. When I hear "Surf and Turf" I instinctively think Steak and Lobster, or Steak and Shrimp at a minimum. Their "Surf and Turf" for the evening was Meatloaf and a piece of Salmon . . . what the????!!!!!

I'll try Rincon soon I'm sure. If I can get both Pala and Rincon to start sending me free play maybe I can hit them both as a twofer when I return from my SD sales runs.

Pinny, yeah if you hit Harrah's Rincon once and throw some money around and or in the machines, they hit you up with some pretty good offers.

I like Pala, too. Been going there since it opened. I'm in Oceanside, so it's fairly close. Rincon is another ten miles up the road, not too much further.

Dude, I just read yer most recent trip report. Effin' awesome. You went to Vegas to see Metallica, that's great. I saw that show last year in Diego, it was epic. I've seen them many, many times. Old school headbanger here, too.

And the pinball museum! I've always wanted to check that out. You played everything I would've. My buddies and I wasted many hours playin' the silver ball under the influence of certain combustibles, back in the day. Love me some pinball.

    Anyhow, cool trip, rock on.:wink2:

Right on, Bro! Maybe we'll tag up at Pala or Rincon someday. I really wanted to go down to Rincon on Halloween to see Alice Cooper but got tied up with some other crap. Glad to see some more 'heads represented on here.

    Cheers!

I went to that show and had a great time.

Some of the positives: Great setlist; Alice died like 5 different times (hung, beheaded, and impaled were 3 of them); Band sounded great; No lousy opening act to sit through.

Some of the negatives: Alice's voice sounded terrible. I don't know if he had of cold or too many back-to-back shows but he was gravely and off-key; What's up with Rincon only offering Bud and Bud lite? I would gladly pay extra for a decent beer; Apparently most people agree with me because the line for wine and mixed drinks was really long and I was towards the back when the show started so I skipped the alcohol; Poor attendance. Lots of empty seats around me.

That's too bad about both the attendance and Alice's voice. Hopefully it was just an off night or a cold and not "his final yell".

Any idea what the seating capacity is at the Rincon?

No opening band . . . . SWEET!!!! I hate suffering through these sub-par wankers (yes, "The Answer", I'm looking at you!!) when I'm waiting for my band to come on.

    Rincon Roulette...

It sounds like you have a really good grasp on how the game works. Here is some more info let me know if this helps.

The game is an exact mathematical duplication of a roulette wheel and it's the only form of Roulette in California that uses balls. No cards!
Instead of the roulette ball tumbling around a wheel to determine the number - the ball tumbles around inside a glass sphere and then produces a number. It's totally unique and very fun.
