Love the photo of the clouds from the plain and the Bodyguard is a great "plane" movie.

Haha, I was wondering the same thing although I thought it was yorkshire pudding, corn bread and mushy peas. Is the yorkshire filled with beef? Our local pub serves yorkshire filled with beef and I've always wanted to order it but something else has always caught my eye more.

Do tell!! It's fun to look at other fare!

Definitely looks like a pie to me, Yorkshire’s dont have tops. I’d say it’s served with mash potato & mushy peas. Cornbread isn’t really a thing in the uk

Pie was AWESOME. Chicken and leek with gravy mash, and mushy peas. Delicious.

We are just up and at them here - more updates shortly.

Last night we got through immigration then met the lovely Julie from Presidential for our ride to the hotel. She was marvellous and cruising down the strip in a stretch Escalade sipping bubbles was a unique and awesome experience.

So, the Plaza turned out not to be the hotel for us. The staff were super friendly, but poor maintainence meant our one night there (originally planned as two) was uncomfortable.

The room was clean and tidy, but didn’t have a working safe. After two hours of trying to get it fixed it transpired it was officially out of order. With no new room available we were forced to spend the evening in the room - we were loathe to leave passports, money etc out and available...

Second issue was the INSANE noise level. Seventh floor north, opposite Fremont and the Circa site, with a faulty window that wouldn’t close, made for a loud and restless night’s sleep. We are both Londoners and used to noise, and deep sleepers to boot, but it was so, so loud in our room. They were piling at ten, eleven pm, and working throughout the night.

As we ate our in room McDs, we decided to call m life and add a night to our Bellagio visit. We managed parcels of sleep overnight, popped over to MSS for a buffet breakfast, VP at BHB (we love Oleg!) and some slots, then jumped into an Uber to the Strip.

    Too close for comfort!

MSS breakfast buffet with ACG coupons. What a bargain!

No luck on slots or VP for me yet, but three quads (alas, only on JOB) leaves @majoro slightly up so far. Gotta pay for that extra Bellagio time somehow, right?

Early morning MSS is the best!

Bummer about your night at The Plaza, but an additional night at Bellagio sounds like a winner!

    Good luck!

Hello again! I’m endeavouring to keep this as live as possible, but forgive me for getting distracted by video poker and craps! Pictures in the next post, because technology and doing everything on iPads and iPhones.

We zipped over to Bellagio for an early check-in, but were still a little *too* early. So we whiled away a lovely half hour looking around the Conservatory, which is all done out for cherry blossom season. As always, Bellagio have knocked the flowers and decor out of the park. We checked into our lovely fountain view room with no problems, although the fountains themselves were out of action due to the high winds. We are looking forward to watching them tomorrow instead.

After that it was off to the sports book for Man U vs Barcelona in the Champions League, followed by an afternoon of VP and silly slots. @majoro did quite well (I think he has a bit of a thing for Heidi), but I got absolutely pummelled. Whatever the game, denom, whatever, I could not catch a break. It was still fun though, and I tried to focus on the tier credits rather than the diminishing bank roll.

We went across to Ellis Island in the early evening for the great VP pay tables, BBQ and craps. I still couldn’t catch a break on VP but my better half had a couple of nice premium quads (including aces). The BBQ was as awesome as ever - so simple and tasty, and always one of the highlights of our visits to Vegas! as we were queuing for our table a guy walked out and proclaimed, “That stuff is the real deal.” He is not wrong. I totally forgot to take a picture as we were too busy destroying our plates. Had a glass of the IPA, which was a very nice sip.

Once we’d recovered from the caloric overzealousness, we went to play some craps. The crew at EI are great fun and we always enjoy their table - in fact it’s the first place either of us played craps for the first time. Table was fun and warm/hot for the first part, until some cooling off arrived with some people putting hands in at the wrong time - my pet hate. Our end of the table had a great time though - we fell in with some military guys (I’m a military brat myself so there’s always plenty to talk about on that score!) and had a ball. Points were hit, I bet far too much on my beloved hardways, and the waitresses were speedy with the cocktail rounds. Ideal! I bought in for $450 and coloured up at $625, meaning craps won me back a little of my losses from earlier in the day and shored up a nice little stash for tomorrow and beyond.

Now we are back at Bellagio and showering before a good night’s rest - hate the casino fug that lingers if you don’t get clean before bed. I’m quite pleased with how well we’ve adjusted to the time change; usually on our first full day we are wiped out by 8, but we stayed at EI till past eleven without crashing. Looking forward to more adventures tomorrow - thank you for reading along. Pictures to follow.

Rare instance of me winning *anything* on slots.

    @majoro winning on Heidi. Again.

My first (and only so far) quad of the trip. M has had seven or eight.

Probably should have coloured up here, before the cooling commenced, but was just happy to walk away up after the losses earlier in the day!

Get a South Tower room, pay whatever you need to be away from the Circa site. In a way i’m glad we had the issue with the broken safe as i’m not sure i’d have slept much on a second night in that room. FME noise is to be expected, but they were driving piles at Circa all night long.

Chugugugugugug. Dunk. Beep beep beep. (Repeat)
