Great tip. I used to use the end of year deal to get the current year's book for $7 but they quit offering it

dropped $5 and entered a couple of $3 contests based upon the football game tonight, (including one $3 contest that i received a free entry into.)

i picked the wrong QB, for starters, and in a pool of 792 entries for one contest, my roster is at 789th place with a couple of minutes to go in the game. i didn't exactly research the players i picked, but i thought i'd have a little luck with the players i picked. clearly not.

Got an email from Nicole asking for my mailing address and placed 366 out of 600. Who would have thought the underdogs woudl win 2 out of 3 games and a roleplayer gets a hat-trick, ugh.

Just went through the process, betting on Sunday NFL games. What a great deal! The LVA yearly membership (including coupon book) for a five dollar bet! Received confirmation from LVA—great service, great deal.
Wonderful job by Anthony and staff.

I didn't get the acknowledgment email from LVA... time to hound 'em.

UPDATE: Not sure why my sign up didn't generate the offer like it did for everyone else, but I sent an email inquiry, received a prompt follow up for further info, responded and received an update about an hour later. All was rectified in a matter of about 90 minutes and I'll be getting my 2019 book in January.

Slightly off the topic: I wonder what has prompted these new methods of obtaining annual memberships. Besides getting one for $5 if you're a new DK player, the LVA slot app makes them available for free if you waste enough hours using it. I get that there's a marketing value to both parties, etc., but I don't recall ever seeing such promotions in the past. Maybe I've simply been blind to them.

Only for new signups to DraftKings. If you already have an active LVA Membership, they'll extend it and send you a 2019 book.

I'm sure Anthony is getting a healthy referral spiff for every new Draft King signup that goes through LVA.

He ain't doing it for charity, that's for sure. Does DK really need to drum up business that desperately? I wouldn't think LVA would generate a ton of new business, but I know nothing about business.

Anthony is probably selling them on the concept that the vast majority of LVA readers are gamblers and many will get hooked on a novel legal way to bet over the Internet. Of course a lot of us are cheap gamblers who enjoy exploiting deals just like this.

To your point: I have no plans to deposit more than my initial $5.

If I could bet on games, a la the sports books, over the internet without having to make deposits into some sort of foreign entity, I'd be spending my Vegas bankroll right now. I just can't get that excited about the skills associated with fantasy sports to learn how to use Draft Kings effectively.

For we low rollers who constantly look for a little edge this is a good advantage play. LVA membership already has a positive EV at the regular $37 price. I’m happy with my extra $32....

I see two reasons for DraftKings to solicit new signups: with legalized sports betting on the way the states’ Attorneys are less likely to be harassing them; and also, legalized sports betting is on the way.
