    DAY 4: 02/24

And again, the night ended a little earlier than planned. I got out of bed at 7am, had a shower and went downstairs for a good-morning-cigarette and a first session of video poker. Surprisingly, I didn’t hit a quad within the first two minutes so I went to the buffet at the Flamingo to use the rest of my food credit.

After the breakfast, I packed my bags and had a little walk to that hotel I will always have a special relationship with:

The Mirage was the hotel I stayed at on my first trip to Vegas, so it will always be a very special place for me. And it seemed that the casino area had a little makeover, it looked pretty good.

At 11am, I took the tram to Treasure Island to check in. I have played here a little bit on my first trip (low-rolling roulette and black-jack for 1 or 2 hours with a little loss), and since this time I am getting e-mail offers. Now it was time to make use of such an offer: two free nights, resort fee optional, $35 free play.

I made a post in captainron’s thread about the TI a couple of days ago that summarizes pretty good what I think about the TI:

Plus, it was the only hotel on this trip where the pool was already open:

In the afternoon, I crossed the street to the Palazzo to try a restaurant with a name that could be my motto ;)

“I love bacon”-burger (awesome!), onion rings (very good!) and parmesan garlic fries (ok). After the dinner I went through the Venetian to catch up on something I missed this morning:

Gotcha. With CET though, it's hard to find a DB game where the straight is worth 5 for 1. In terms of payback, 8/5 DDB is better than 9/6/4 DB actually.

Now the 9/6/5 DB you found at Venetian, that's a lot better than 8/5 DDB, almost as good as 9/5 DDB. They had 9/6/5 DB at the sportsbook bar too for quarters, which I was very surprised by. I would have played there longer and sucked down a few more Sierra Nevadas, but we had obnoxious drunks next to us.

Great report!!! Thanks for taking the time to write it up!!

    DAY 5: 02/24

At last I could get some sleep and after 10 hours I woke up. New day, new energy! I went down to get the tram to the Mirage for breakfast, where I redeemed my first myVegas-reward:

Back to the TI for some video poker, business as usual ;)

After two or three hours at the pool, I went to the Venetian to enjoy the atmosphere of the hotel and the casino:

And I also tested a new burger restaurant:

Nice restaurant, cute waitress and a really good burger (I think that’s why they named it “The really good burger”). Only the fries were meh, so B+B makes a close 2nd place on my Vegas burger hitlist.

After the dinner it was time to play some poker. Since I had a ticket for “LOVE” at 930pm, I went to the Mirage, played almost two hours and won $60.

And LOVE was another highlight! I have seen O and Ká before and really like the CdS shows, and so I wasn’t disappointed, although I am not a huge Beatles fan.

Great report so far. Enjoying all the photos.

Question for you about Condor. Has the cabin be upgraded from when you went last year? I read that they were upgrading their long haul fleet. Adding in seat entertainment, lie flat seats in business class etc.

The previous two summers I have flown with Condor direct to Vegas out of Frankfurt.

    Thank you all!

Thank you! I have also read about the makeover of the planes with the in-seat-entertainment, but I flew in an old one. The makeover should be finished this summer/fall, so maybe the next time!

    DAY 6: 02/25

Time to pack my suitcase and move to another hotel. I checked out at the TI and walked down the strip to the Planet Hollywood. Too early to check in, so I left my baggage and went to ancient Rome to have breakfast:

After this late breakfast I went back to the Planet, checked in and went to my room. Last time I had the “Evita”-room, this time it was Denny deVito:

One thing I really love here is that the standard rooms have an amazing bathroom:

After a short poker session ($60 profit), I only wanted to have a quick cigarette before the dinner. And what do I do while I am smoking?

No burger today, but the best buffet in Vegas:

Can you confirm that this is the absolute standard room? I'd LOVE to stay at PHo with a tub like that...

Stayed there 3 times.....that is the standard room. They all come with a soaking tub in them and separate shower.
