    Recapping the last few days:

-The comedy show was hilarious. Loved the venue and all three comics, but especially Tom Rhodes. He had some great bits about all the different countries he’s visited.

-FSE kinda sucked. Not gonna lie. I remember it being more fun 10 years ago. Bounced around a few casinos playing slots with no notable hits.

I did manage to finally get a full house (two of them actually) at the Plaza, my only premium hands of the trip.

I’m back to my original thought that I’ll be skipping staying downtown anytime soon. Just not my glass of Long Island Iced Tea.

Got back to the hotel about 1am and passed out.

Yesterday was four hours spent at the Lazy River at MGM, then hitting NYNY for a couple of hours for some gaming and shopping. Came back to the room to put away purchases and came back down to the casino where I hit this within the few couple of minutes.

With that, my slow bleed became nothing more than a small scab as I was able to pull nearly even on the trip. Considering that I estimate I played 10 hours of VP without any notable hands, I consider this a win.

There were a lot of times I’d put $20 in, get a drink, run it down to $10 and then slowly climb back up and get another drink or cash out with my original $20.

Slots were lose $40, win $30, lose $20, win $20. Every day minus yesterday was a loss, but just small ones. The good news is I came back with 95% of my initial gambling bankroll with makes all that fun basically a wash.

GT did even better on the trip and doubled up what he brought along.

After that win, I took $40 and got a couple drinks while playing Fortune Cup. Cashed out with $15 and went to a Texas Tea Pinball where I hit a bonus round on my first spin and worked that $15 up to $90 before giving it all back on a Quick Hit slot over the next 45 minutes.

At the end of that, I called it a trip and headed back to the room and packed. Slept until 3:30am where I got up and got ready to leave for the airport at 4:30.

That’s it. Back home and doing laundry. Still have 5 full days of vacation before I have to head back to work.

Thanks for coming along. That’s all I have to say about that.

It was good. You sit and order your drinks, but you order your food at a food truck inside the restaurant. They will then bring you food. Kinda weird but whatever.

As far as quality, the sliders and fries I had were really good. GT had the steak nachos and enjoyed them. Lots of TVs so viewing multiple games shouldn’t be an issue. Beer selection was decent. Music playing while we were there was mostly 80s light rock which was a nice break from all the club music you hear everywhere else. I did hear some Guns N‘ Roses and Metallica at different times walking past.

It was a great trip, minus the 24 hours in the middle that I fell ill to food poisoning. Funny note about that...talked to the Mrs. the day after and she reminded me that on a trip we shared back in 2010, I ate at Cabo Wabo and was sick later that night. I had totally forgot about that.

See, that’s why it’s important to do trip reports. You can review them and remind yourself not to go Cabo Wabo unless you want to create that one scene from

    Great report! You’re funny!:)

I’ve put The STRAT on my list for my upcoming trip. I’ve never been but it sounds like it’s now worth the stop.

Was it the Brad Garrett club in the MGM you visited for the comedy show?

First Comp, I couldn't NOT book it, could I?

It was. I really dug the club. They sit you at a small table (which was really heavy, but prevented any accidental bumps from spilling drinks) and have drink service. No food other than small $10 bags of gourmet popcorn (and it’s good popcorn!) which was a bit of a bummer, but there is an excellent made to order mini-donut bakery right across the hall for after the show. All the comedians lined up for handshakes and free photo ops after the show. It’s a small club and has a nice intimate feel (sort of how I imagine Vegas shows were back in the 60s).

Brad Garrett's Comedy Club is really a nice club, I agree. I saw the Mike Tyson one man show there a couple of years ago, and the seating and view were great.
