just came back from a 6 day trip downtown. Always includes a stay at the ‘D’ to play the Bonus Poker progressive at the VUE bar. My wife and I were playing one afternoon. The Royal progressive was up to around $1150. There were about five other people playing. I usually keep close track of the progressive meter of the 5 - K 4OK when I noticed the Royal had been reset. I looked around the bar, and didn’t see anyone holler or yell or looking happy. After around a minute, I had a feeling the Royal wasn’t hit here. A couple of months ago, I read a post here about them testing the configuration to combine the machines at the ‘D’ and Golden Gate. Anyway, I took a picture of the meters at the ‘D’ and walked down to the Golden Gate and looked at their machines. All the numbers were slightly higher than the ones at the ‘D’, but right inline.

But here was the clincher........No one was playing the machines at the Golden Gate, but as I sat there and watched, all three meters were increasing. They had to be combined.

Now, is this good or bad news........I Can’t tell. I only stay and play at the ‘D’. So it’s just like they added 8 more seats at the ‘D’. I suppose if you played at both places, you could have chosen to play at whichever one had a better EV, but not anymore.

Yes we noticed this when we were there in late October. The Vue Bar progressive is now tied to the 12 Video Poker machines on the floor at the Golden Gate. I personally think this is good since it allows for the progressive to grow faster with additional play.

But the target hands get hit more frequently as well. It washes out. What matters is the generous meter rate.

But speaking of networked progressives, I used to play the 100-penny 9/6 progressive at Tunica Roadhouse (RIP). The royal meter normally went up 0.25%, but one night I watched a guy hammer $5 9/5 JoB non- progressive VP. Only guy playing VP in the casino at the time. I was taking a break. Every six hands he played ($150 CI) the 100-penny progressive went up a penny!

The bad news is they fixed the meter feed..... used to be VERY common for the 4OAK to be $50+ and SF to get over $200+

We've only played at the bar, I'm sure I can find them, but where are these machines on the floor? Never noticed a bank.
also I was saying there were at least two VP machines in HL, but P disputed that. We'll see soon.

They are in the almost separate room area near the exit on the corner of Fremont and Main Street (as if you were going to Plaza).
