Has anyone stayed in a Monte Carlo Diamond Suite or a Luxor Luxury Suite?

I got great rates on these rooms for end of the month and I have looked them up but I was hoping to get some experienced views on these rooms. Has anyone stayed in these? Can you advise if any are smoking - not a big deal if they are not but smoking and drinking go together sometimes. Also looking for what I should request at desk that is reasonable such as close to elevators - higher floors etc. Thanks

MC Diamond, right off the central hallway near elevators, all on higher floors. I requested smoking but they didn't have any available...all hotels only have a few smoking floors nowadays. Luxor I booked one for June but had to cancel my trip....the Luxor Luxury are in the towers and are quite a hike from the casino. They seem to be all at the ends of the short parts of the tower...look at google earth...all the videos of these that I watched faced the pyramid/MB. Our tastes run alike...next trip for us will either be the Luxor Luxury or the NYNY Zuggarat, if I pick the right weeks the prices aren't too bad on mlife.

I like the older hotels but want a little more than a standard hotel room at the beginning and end of a long stay. Thanks for the info. Anyone else?

We always book the Luxury suites at the Luxor, Tammy is correct they are quite a walk from the casino. If you don't have mobility issues they are fine to stay in, we are walkers and don't mind the walk; actually we have a certain suite number we book when we stay at the Luxor as it has the view we prefer and it's at the end of a hallway. The luxury suites are at the ends of hallways and the cut out of the towers. We have booked a smoking luxury suite at the Luxor once before but many years ago, so at one time they did have them that I know of. If you are looking for more than a standard room the Luxury suite could work for you. They are actually quite roomy and have 2 separate rooms. We enjoy having a fridge in the room and the double sink in the bathroom.

We have never stayed at Monte Carlo so I am unable to help you out with that one.

last trip i stayed in the premier luxor suite, and it was very..very unimpressive. i've stayed in the spa suite @ monte carlo, MUCH nicer than the luxor. i'd go with monte carlo every day.

I stayed in the MC Diamond Suite last October. Ours was non-smoking, which we preferred. As somebody mentioned, they are located at the hub of the building on the higher floors. You can be in the casino in a couple of minutes. They are spacious, have Keurig (sp?) coffee makers and they supply 2-4 k cups a day. There is a mini-fridge, but no microwave. They are comfortable, but not luxurious beyond being large. The decor is dated and furniture a bit worn, though I know they were trying to update those rooms. The guy at the desk told us that they were trying to refresh those suites, but they kept being booked so keep putting if off. I have no idea if they have been able to do it in the months since we were there. I would say it was a good value for the price we got on the room.

I haven't stayed at Luxor and I'm really not a south strip guy, but we liked being able to bounce back and forth between MC and NYNY.

Stayed in the Luxor Tower luxury a couple of trips ago, very, very nice room in every aspect, much better than the Suite we stayed in at Mandalay last December in every single way.
