Hello. Just looking for ATM machines that are surcharge free in and around Las Vegas. We have a rental car, so off strip is no problem.

On the east coast, we have convenience stores such as Wawa and Royal Farms that are surcharge free, but there doesn't seem to be a similar kind of convenience store in Vegas, or is there? I know 7-Eleven is surcharge-free for most credit unions, but probably not for most banks.

    Thanks in advance.

Check with your bank on their ATM affliations. They may be able to direct you to one that would be free. Mine joined Allpoint so I can use CVS ATMs for free. I suspect more networks like that will be popping up for credit unions and regional banks.

Your bank should offer free ATM when using their own ATM's

I find it a real hassle to go looking for an ATM just to save $5-$6 for pulling out a $1,000 when I need it (not need - want it)

This. I couldn't imagine getting in a car and driving around off strip just to save a couple of dollars on an ATM fee.

Reading the first few replies I was starting to wonder if I was the only one thinking this...

Presumably they aren't going to be paying the valet so they would have to go through the casino, out to the parking structure, drive down to the street, drive out to an ATM, take the money out and then head back to the casino, park in the parkade, hoof it all the way back to the casino... all that plus blowing about a buck in gas and wasting 30 minutes of your vacation time just to save $4-5... D'oh!

If they have a car it likely won't be a special trip, but combined with another outing.

OP, someone started a thread about casinos cashing personal checks, perhaps that would work for you.
