i posted a while ago about playing at MGM Grand and a host reaching out to me, i was offerd free rooms when i explained i didnt need them as i live local but maybe a concert or show ticket or food i was shot down , same host still emails me and still offers me free rooms i just dont respond

i ask for my play at the time i knew it but wanted it in wrinting, it was a few hours at over 450$ a hand at bj,as i was just going to hakkasan not counting my play at other mlife properties, so after getting shot down for 1 concert ticket i stpped playing there.

so as a mlife member u get presales for concerts and shows so i called becuase i wanted to get advanced tics to a concert ,so i cold called ,i wound up at vip services at mgm, after a few minutes they looked at my play and to my shock the comped me 2 nites of concerts and anything else i wanted no hotel need and i original offerd to pay for them .a totaly 180 of my treatment i got a fwew months ago.

so kudos to mgm to winning back my play and doing the right thing

i guess im still in shock

the problem with that and the reason i dont do it and i can stay at any place in vegas is that every free room you take or comp has a dollar value,if i dont need the room why take it, i would rather have an extra 1000$ in comps to play with than a free rooms also with free rooms they want usualy 4 hours a day or certian level of play , my way i can walk into any casino play when i want , go to show or dinners and not have to gamble that nite at all.
also i can put any friend or relatives if i want for free no strings attatched at most places as i have the comps there.

if you dont need the room your taking value you can use on something else

The way I read the original post is you were getting nothing of value, and the other poster meant to at least get something, take the room. I take it you were getting value, just not what you wanted. Glad to see you get what you wants. Which concerts did you choose?

this was a while ago and never went to back to gamble there but if i took the free room , they would want 4 hours a day at 200$ minium for bj when i live down the block from mgm why would i do that it would ruin my adt at mlife not worth it a no play., first they reached out to me for my bussiness i didnt ask for theres second i ask my host a bellagio and he comped me the tickets that the host at mgm who offerd me free rooms woudnt with out blinking. so it worked out fine.

now mgm is taking care of what ever i want, smart move didnt experct it ,but they were nice ,new host they did the right thing even though i offerd to pay for them they comped them

I get my booklet with the number of free nights, with food comps for the month and free play. it goes up sometimes, which is great. I live near 3 other casinos of which i never use the rooms. I hate the rooms at one of the resorts, the other one is super crowded and the third i have never stayed at

i get the same thing but your still using comps you dont need to that can be used on something else, i dont need the pool or free ac , i have my own pool and ac and spa and driver at my apt ,so why leave a 5 star apartment if dont have too, i just rather use it on some worth while and free rooms arent in my book, free tics , food, sporting events , bottle srevice at nite clubs and others stuf are

I am missing something here. How does accepting comps ruin your ADT?

I go to my local casinos very frequently. I am not sure how differently my local casinos rate compared to Vegas casinos, so my experience may not apply to yours. I rarely get 4 hours in when I play for the day. My daily play is more like 2-3 hours...sometimes 1.5 hours. Every now and then I might be in the area and all I do is stop in and eat lunch in the VIP Lounge, with no play. I have seen no change in my local offers from these infrequent no-play trips. I believe the reason is due to the frequency I go there. Perhaps theo is based on single days, rather than trip averages, for local players. With that said, PP, your level of play and frequency of play, should cover the occassional no-play or low-play day...at least in my opinion. Like you, I rarely use the free rooms...just much rather go to Vegas if I am going to be staying overnight.

correct on my play it does cover the rooms if i want it but i perfer to use it for other things, so i perfer not to have to take the room comp (theres still value to it) and let them give me more in other areas or if my parents come to town i can give them the room. the room is just a wasted value in vegas on me.

but as i said everything we get given to us has a value

Got it. I thought you were talking about situations where you do play. If you're not playing, there is no need for a room anyway! But another thought, PP, do you have any concern that accepting comped concert tickets without playing will create the same ding on your ADT? I don't know, but I would think accepting any kind of on property comp like that would trigger something in their computer. I know primary comps at MGM properties do not roll over day to day (only express comps).

In any event, glad you got your tickets

it doesnt becuase im a local. i go into that alitle in this thread or one of the others, my play is looked differntly, its not considerd a trip. but not all mlife reps or host no that, its confusing to them, as if i go across the street for icream to aria and use ec and it triggers a trip, but as a local im looked at diffeerntly.

so my host or a mlife supervisor will look my whole play say for a month or 2 ,it can be an hour here, 2 hours there and , comp me that way, rember becuase im taking no rooms or up front comps as a local i have a ton of extra comps the can give me.

for example i played in june at balagio around 8 hours , lets say 500$ at bj hand, so they can comp off of that, then i just 3 nites at 800$ a hand for 4 hours ,so with no room or up front comps , when i want something i just ask and its done, niteclubs, food or show tickets, thats strong play for a local who can walk in when ever they want. they dont to have market to me or lure me in.

so the look at my total over a longer period of time but not as a trip just seperate plays
