Has anyone worked directly with the famous casino host Steve Cyr? He is famous from his book entitled "Whale Hunt in the Desert: Secrets of a Vegas Superhost." Now he is an independent host, and quite particular in what kind of clientele he deals with. I lost both my hosts- one host moving, and the other leaving the business. I think having an independent host can be beneficial so the casino I want to go to doesn't have to "verify" my play and establish a relationship with me. I sent him an e-mail and he seems interested in taking me on, but I was wondering if people have had negative or positive experiences with him.

Don't know anyone that has had direct interaction with the guy, but I think I remember reading an interview with him years ago where he acknowledged he is banned from certain vegas properties. So just make sure he can get you access to wherever it is you're wanting to stay.

Just curious, where were the two hosts at that you are losing?

    Bellagio, and Cosmo.

On Cyr's website it says he works with a lot of casinos, outside of Vegas as well which would be helpful. Whenever I want to go gamble outside of Vegas they always have to "verify" my play and it can be a hassle.

Very interesting. I travel around quite a bit and would be interested in this service since its a PIA to get to a REAL host prior.to arriving at the property. What levels are you playing at to warrant his services? I play craps, bj and hl slots, sports and horses. So my overall theo is pretty good from a numbers perspective.

If anyone has not read that book Whale Hunt in the Desert, it is some of the best Vegas reading out there.

Just curious, what was the level of play he wanted?

OK. When you wrote that you "far exceeded" the play he wanted, that implied that you knew what level of play he wanted. My bad
