Any opinions on Caesars Forum Tower? I've stayed at Caesars once before in the Augustus Tower, which I thought was one of the best rooms on the strip. I also know to avoid the Roman Tower. But I'm wondering if Forum would be OK for a 6 day stay. By way of background, I am a Diamond at Caesars, so an upgrade is possible, though not expected. Trying to decide between this and MGM Grand (both are about equal in price for me). Also, any thoughts on the Pools at Caesars in terms of crowds and available space? Trip will be last week in august (including Labor Day weekend). Lastly, thoughts on Bars/Lounges as compared to MGM? My last trip to MGM I was getting comped Stags Leap Artemis at the Whisky bar for standard VP play, which is pretty damn hard to beat. Thanks in advance
I prefer the Forum Tower over the better towers for a solo trip, the rooms are spacious enough, the hallways are short, the elevators open right into the casino (and a short distance from the food court and sundries store), and the TVs have a connectivity panel. No opinion on pools or VP bars. My stays at Caesars are usually 6 nights.
We stayed in a Forum tower room for five days last December and it was a great little room. The only drawback is they only have a shower, no tub.
I stayed in the Forum Tower last summer. As others have said, the Forum rooms are a little bit smaller, but the room was great. The pools at Caesar's are among the best anywhere in Vegas IMO, something for everyone. I was there for a week and spent most of my time at the Topless pool because it was a lot quieter because of the no kid policy (i have some mobility issues, i could care less about bOObs). The Forum rooms are near Mesa Grill and the Sports Book. Also, you can take a shortcut through Appian Way to save some time on getting to the pool or exiting CP.
We stayed in Forum last trip. Augustus is nicer and more spacious, but Forum is much closer to the casino and shops. It's really not a bad room at all.
Thanks all for the thoughts. Last thing - how's the VP at Caesars? I seem to remember there being a few 50 and 100 hand machines in the "alcove" next to the entrance to the Forum Shops, and some random 10 hand machines mixed though out. Any good bar-top VP? Otherwise, my recollection is that CP had far less VP action than most of the other CET properties. The one thing I love about MGM is there is plenty of good bar-top VP, including 10 hand machines at the newish Whiskey bar.... I'll admit, I love ending an evening in vegas with a few "unnecessary" coctails over some bar top VP while watching some baseball highlights . . .
Good to know on the Forum Tower rooms. Me being a low roller, the only fairly decent offers I get from TR are the Forum rooms. The last time, when checking in I did the trick and was quickly offered rooms in both Augustus and Octavius towers so we elected the Augustus room (a wonderful upgrade). My offers remain the same through out this year and goes to the summer of 2015 still with the Forum rooms. I'am glad to hear the positive comments for the Forum rooms because I may not get that complimentary upgrade next year.
I have stayed at Caesars at least three times as I used to go to a conference there. Last year they moved the conference to Aria (thank god). Caesars makes me so mad. They will not guarantee your tower. So even though I had booked the Augustus Tower to be closer to the conference center they stuck is in the forum tower in a horrible little room which didn't even have a separation between the bathroom and toilet. Not great when it's two women who are "co-wokers" sharing a room. The other two groups from our work had checked in earlier and one got an Augustus tower and one a Octavius tower. Both an enormous upgrade from our little room which had a view that was obstructed by some little decorative columns which made us feel like we were in a jail cell. The forum tower location is closer to the gaming and the forum shops but man it's not very nice. We were so very happy with our Aria rooms this past Feb!
I'm not sure of any hotel that will guarantee a room type for a large conference. You're looking at thousands of checkins over the space of a few hours. It wouldn't be practical or achievable to hold rooms.
In my opinion they shouldn't offer all those choices when you book then. They are all standard rooms, but the different towers call for different prices sometimes about $50 a night difference. That would be like reserving a suite and getting a deluxe room.
I see your point, but what else can they do? They need all their rooms for conference guests. The same will happen everywhere else. I imagine it's more obvious at cp though as they have such big distinctions between room types and host a lot of conferences.
We just stayed in the forum tower in July. Loved the location. Bar top vp is the worst pay there is, but that's where you'll always find me. I like the new Lobby bar. I only saw $1 + games, but they may have others. The 100 play still exist but they've switched up the game locations so it takes some searching to find them.
If you are actually paying more for a certain room, they should guarantee them or they should refund the premium for an upgrade.
