OK, I admit I am not hip and trendy but this has to be the dumbest cosmetic surgery I have ever heard of. A local clinic is running a ton of radio commercials for cosmetic surgery to make your belly button look better. Really, does anybody think improving the look of their belly button means squat?

Oh I could never date him/her, they have an ugly belly button!:wink2:

Or maybe I'm just old and out of touch, but I can think of a lot better ways to spend money.

Like you, I don't think it makes sense. I've heard of worse areas for plastic surgery.

What amazes me is that there must be lots of people that want it for him to be advertising. Lots of outies?

I imagine if you had a fairly mangled "outtie" belly button and spent a lot of time at the pool or on the beach, you may wish to "fix" that issue, but I can't imagine how bad it would need to be to justify the thousands of dollars it would likely cost to have the procedure

I just got out of the hospital have hernia repair surgery. I don't understand how people can elect to have unnecessary surgery. It just blows my mind that people would go through all that pain for vanity issues.

Yeah, unless the surgery is to correct a defect or deformity, I just don't get it either. But, having said that, if it's important to the person getting it then it's no skin off of me. Like tats or anything else - it's their body.

I can see it, especially when my mother described all the stuff they did to our stubs to get the belly button to be just right when we were babies. I have become obsessed with Botched on E! It appears to me that fixing the belly button is a standard part of abdominal procedures.

I've actually been amazed at the number of times I've heard people say something bad about someones Belly button. It's pretty had to have an ugly belly button in my opinion (actually I think outies are kinda cute!). I think the worst belly buttons I've seen are ones with some ugly tattoo circling it. Don't those women know that someday that belly is going to inevitably expand and the effects its going to have on that tattoo???

Well, girls wear all those belly button jewelry thingies now, so I guess they want cute ones.

Some even get their kitties rearranged.

I don't understand these procedures either. After a 100+ lb weight loss, the need for some kind of surgery is making itself known, but I don't wanna. It's expensive, painful, a hassle, etc.

If you've got a spare $5k laying around to have your belly-button fancied up or your anus bleached, please donate a portion to VMB. You clearly have too much cash. :haha:

OK, I Googled and it is just what it sounds like and then I found out there is something called genital bleaching. Too much information for this small town Midwest guy.

lol that's a good one, but I'm not much of a belly button man. This does sound retarded though, I've never looked at a girl and thought "She could really use a belly button job."
