Was recently introduced to a host at mlife property during our last trip. I went ahead and contacted him via email and he replied right away saying he would get back to me the next day when he was back in the office. So I waited, waited etc. Finally a week later I just called during his shift, and he basically said you are were interested in dates in October, which he then said sorry I'm taking care of August dates at this time let me get back to you when closer to October. Is this normal with hosts? It's my first time trying to do anything with a host but think I may just lock in some rates with my corp offer instead and not even worry about the host factor.
It depends on your host. Some hosts are great, some take forever to reply. The hosts I work with currently reply in a timely manner (1-2 days maximum). I've had one host in the past that took weeks to reply. I always try to get a new host if they take forever to reply.
It wasn't so much waiting, it was his reply during the phone call that through me off. Like he didn't want to help/bother as he said "he was taking care of August dates" right now but would get back to me closer to October.
This is not a standard practice. Booking a reservation takes no more than 5 minutes, myself and most hosts I know are already looking at Super Bowl and NYE reservations.
Yeah that isn't normal. I'd recommend locking those dates in via corporate offer and then call and ask for a different host.
I also think that you must be lucky to have a good host Im doubtfull if my new host is any good but i will give him the benefit of the doubt for now Just found it strange when im asked him to enlist me for a free pokertournament i wasnt eligable he sayd ( didnt even gave me the reason why....as i spoke to another player who was diamond too he got in easily) When going to diamond check in at my hotel that host took one call and got me enlisted in it I dont wanna change host so quickly but if i go this october and i get a diff or worse deal i normal get( my old host just retired) i think i have to change hosts Would be nice to know what the general rules are host can do for you ... One thing i know the more you loose the nicer they are to you ( but you have to ask!)
That's not normal. I would either book online with your corporate offer or just call VIP services/casino marketing to make the reservation. Or try to find a new host.
not normal, based on my experience. I would call him again and ask to speak w/ his supervisor or player development manager. I don't have any issues booking months in advance.
Time to find a new host. I expect them to take great care of me and in exchange, i will play at the levels i tell them i do or higher. If those levels are not high enough for them to take good care of me, I will find another property/host.
I have never had this experience with any host. They are always willing to book the dates and add on the goodies or codes later (ie food, slot play, concerts ,etc. )
As I posted in another thread a few months ago, I got totally frustrated with my host not answering any of my emails. So frustrated I emailed the GM and requested a new host and sent copies of all the emails she never answered over the course of about 2 months. That created quite a ruckus. Multiple emails from the GM, a phone call from the slot director. He promised my host would be calling me within 10 minutes of the end of our phone call. She did and profusely apologized and things have been good since, but that may also be the fact that the slot director said I should cc him any email I send her. Here is what I don't get. I see how the hosts have to interact with so many people daily. You would think a reply to an email when they are not busy would be more convenient than answering a phone call in the middle of the day.
You just got a bad host, that's all. I've had hosts in the past tell me this same the same thing they are telling you. There is truth in it. Whenever a customer asks for a free room from a host, they have to fill out paperwork (not a ton, but a little) and submit your request for approval. If the host you got is overwhelmed with requests or has a lot of larger players, you may have been pushed to the bottom of his or her priority list. In either case, if you're not happy, get a new host. That's what I did in the past
Don't you think that this has something to do with hosts taking on people who they can't or aren't willing to do any more for, than just book their marketing offer for them. I am basically forced to use a host at the Mirage - and the only thing she will do for me is to book my marketing offer. The few times I have asked for just a little bit more, she completely quits communicating with me - which I take to mean no - to whatever I asked for. So why force me to use a host. If I call VIP marketing, they basically have told me I need to deal with my host. Wouldn't her time be better spent on people at a higher play level than mine - if all she is going to do for me is what VIP marketing could do?
to book a room is pretty quick he takes your players cards info all your offers are in there and bam he can see what you have, and if you want something more than have he will review your play history its a pretty quick process,
