I was wondering if it was just me or do y'all bring a different budget to non-Vegas gambling venues? If so how much less/more?
Our typical Biloxi "what we are willing to lose" budget is about 2/3 of the Vegas budget.

You mean there are other places than Vegas???
Goes without saying its $0. Vegas gets all our gambling budget.

I go to local casinos a lot! While I have not been gambling at a different level, I should! Since my trips are days trips and only last 2-3 hours, I do not take advantage of the free rooms, free golf, fancy dinners, or shows. I basically go just to gamble.

Yeah, mine is different for Las Vegas vs more local casinos. The main thing is due to length of trip. Flying is so expensive (and such a hassle) that I won't make a Vegas trip of less than five days. I can make shorter trips to Biloxi or New Orleans and drive. Spur of the moment trips are possible if you are only going for two or three nights. In fact, we just got back yesterday from a two day trip to Biloxi. We decided to go on Monday, made our reservations and went on Tuesday. If you go by daily bankroll, there is not that much difference although the LV bankroll will be about 10%-20% more per day.

My daily budget is pretty close to the same between Vegas and Tunica. Maybe a little more toward Vegas. My budget is generally more adjusted by the games available. If I play live poker, or a lot of near 100% VP, my budget goes up.

And I'm with rebel on trip length. I don't want Vegas to be less than five days thanks to airfare. Places like Tunica, we do three nights usually.

I pretty much stick to the same amount no matter if it's Vegas, Biloxi, Atl City a Cruise etc.
The only difference is my local Casino. But even that amount is close to my daily average.

Yep, same here except for Powerball that my wife wastes $4 per week on.

For some reason, our budget is about half what it is for Vegas. Really don't know why.

Yes...when I drive over to Louisiana for a day or a weekend I will not spend as much as I do in Vegas.

My daily BR would be about a third less.

The only casinos we gamble at are Las Vegas or local casinos...

My closest local casino is about a $12 cab ride away, there is even a free shuttle service that picks up about 2 blocks from my home or public transit is an option.

That's relevant to my answer because: in Las Vegas I'd never go with a tiny budget that might only last me an hour or something... we take enough money to make sure we can gamble all day long through the ups and downs of our bankroll, whereas with the local casino its so close and accessible that if we go with just a few bucks each and we're broke in an hour then calling it a day and heading back home is no big deal.

I only brings a few hundreds (~$300-500) to my local. I bring a lot more than that to Vegas, depending on the length of the trip.

Our four local casinos are all within 20 minute driving distance. To those, we take 3/5s of our budget. If we travel anywhere by plane, Windsor, Seneca Niagara, AC, etc, we take the same amount.

Same here. When I head Louisiana I am usually meeting up with friends or family from back home and they don't gamble at the same level as me. And I like to do it bigger in Vegas so I save my money.

We stopped gambling locally quite a few years ago and decided to do more Vegas trips instead. When we did gamble locally we took half the budget we take to Vegas; but, we were there only 3-4 hours so probably works out to the same daily allotment.

We rarely gamble outside of Vegas, but on the few occasions we have, it's with a MUCH smaller budget. We were in New Orleans and budgeted a few hundred dollars to visit Harrah's. We were visiting my sister in Ft Myers and she took us out to some casino (Immocolee, or some such) about an hour away. DH and I each decided to play $100, and with my second twenty I hit for $395 on Hot Shot and we were done!

I'm with Suekel on this one..I don't gamble much outside of Vegas, and when I do, the budget is cut in 1/2, prolly $500 day at local casino (and only go when someone's in town visiting and they want to go there)

Much, much less. It's often a day trip and I'm usually driving which means no booze. The casinos around here don't comp booze like in Vegas. I've had a few old lady bus trips where I discretely brought my own Malibu rum. Those were the only times where I parked myself at a machine like in Vegas.

I have Indian casinos close to me, which I do not frequent. But if I go to Tunica, Biloxi or Shreveport I gamble the same way there that I do in Vegas so I take the same amount.
