Have you used a Starbucks gift card in these hotels?

I have a couple of Starbucks gift cards that I want to use on our upcoming trip. I understand that some Starbucks are owned by the hotels and they do not accept gift cards. So, I wondering if anyone has used a gift card at Harrahs or the one in the Linq? If they don't accept them, I won't take them with me. TIA!

It's funny you mention this. I have both a gift card and a rewards card (with money on it). When I was at Aria this past May, I asked if I could use either... they said absolutely... but both days I was there they said the computers weren't working. Of course, I could use my credit card, no problem.

Sounded fishy to me... I'll bet the answer is really "no" but they don't want to upset anyone and so they just say the computer isn't working.

I have tried at PH & at several casino boats with no luck. Wish more locations would participate...

It's not some of the hotel locations, it's all of them. The stores inside hotels (and, since you asked, the Linq), airports, grocery stores, etc. are not owned by Starbucks-- they're what we refer to as licensed stores. They never, ever accept Starbucks cards because they aren't 'really' Starbucks. Unfortunately, the company doesn't usually bother to explain the distinction and a lot of customers get (understandably) upset as a result.

I have not tried using a gift card at any of the casino Starbucks, but it does not surprise me, as I know Starbucks that are inside of Barnes and Noble stores do not accept GCs.

If you have a CET Diamond card, you can get a free snack (only certain snacks are eligible) with any purchase at the PH Starbucks. I don't know if this is at all CET Starbucks, but it definitely is at the PH Starbucks.

I recommend using the Starbucks website location finder and check the box next to mobile payment. That shows the locations that can scan card codes for payment. If they are on that list, they will definitely accept gift cards. I see none of the casino locations listed.

I can say that I've used my Starbucks gift card (which is an employee partner card) at the Starbucks inside Crystals and also at the one that was in Mandalay Bay near the events center which is now closed. They don't have the ability to scan the mobile cards, but they just took my phone and entered the number off the screen. I've also had no problem using it at the airport there and here in Canada. The downside with these stores is we can't get an employee discount lol. Is the Starbucks in the Linq a licensed store for sure? Employees get a free pound of coffee each week and the only store that I know where we can redeem that is at the Fashion Show Mall.

I have used ours at both of the stores in the MGM Grand, they take the numbers off the card or in our case from the phone.

The last time I even tried was a long time ago at Harrah's and the answer was no. But at my local Harrah's, they are now set up to do it. They added a credit card machine to do Starbucks cards as they use a Harrah's register to be able to take points. I wonder if more locations that couldn't in the past take Starbucks cards now.

I had a few Starbucks GCs and used them several times at the locations inside Rio last year without any problems at all.
