LANAI Suite Cosmo

Just curious on comps if they make you cover the true value of the room? So if I wanted to book the lanai suite for say monday and it cost's 400 dollars on the website would it it take me 1k Theoretical to cover it or do they often charge less for a casino rate. I am trying to convince my wife I should give up a free room one night so I can reserve a room with 2 floors. I have always wanted two floors in my hotel room.

dont know but there is a value and a formula for every room type that you have to cover, notsure if it changes per event or nite or its a santard flat rat.

If you already have a freebie coming off the comp, I would give them a call and see how much it would be if they went ahead and "upgraded" you to that room thru your offer. I've known folks who have upgraded from a free night(s) offer at Cosmo in a basic room up to a wraparound terrace suite for way less than what the room would normally cost.

My guess is they would comp the cost the the room to get more play out of your. Casino rate for that room would be much less, I would think.

 

correct but it still has a comp dollar value and he wants to know the majic number i guess we all do and its interesting is it more for a weekday than weekend, big event than non holiday, thses are good questions

 

Not sure if it applies to all room types at Cosmo, but I have been told by a Host On Duty at Cosmo that the average bet equal to the room rate for 4 hours should be sufficient to cover the room. This is not a finite, hard rule, but just a general value that one can assume while playing. In my experience, the average bet size can be lower.

 

You're suggesting that if a room is $1,000 per night that to get it comped play should average $1,000 per bet for four hours?

 

impossible , thats what they want u to gamble but thats not tthe comp rate,its 2 differnt things

 

Exactly! Without trying to explain particulars and details with people that just walk up and ask, they just generically say, "average bet equal to room rate for 4 hours per day". So, that is what they want you to play, but it is not a hard absolute number for the actual comp value...just a quick simple answer to spit out.

 

i know for the terrace suite with a fountain view last trip for 3 nights including friday and saturday they only charged me 450 against my comps which I thought was super low since the book rate for Friday and Saturday were roughly 700 dollars. I just called the front desk and they informed me that there are no casino rates for the Lanai suite. I have just always wanted a hotel with 2 floors.

Have you guys stayed in it?

 

You do not have you cover the posted rate available for normal guests. You have to cover the casino rate which is available to the host--this is always the lowest.

I didn't think this rate changes but an experience during EDC weekend leads me to believe it may. That weekend I only had 3 days booked. On the morning I was scheduled to checkout I stopped by the host desk to ask for a late checkout since apparently my status didn't mean anything with the front desk when inquiring. The host said they aren't doing much this because things are a little different with EDC (that was kinda confusing because it didn't seem too bad to me). Did that mean he wasn't going to extend my room for a few more hours? No, instead he reviewed my account and extended me for another day based on my play. This was for an upgraded room but not the Lanai so YMMV for that room.

 

I'm not sure the Lanai is available for upgrade based on marketing offers. I haven't personally tried to book it as that room doesn't fit my needs ever. Instead, I have been told by friends who receive offers that the highest upgrade they can do from the 1-bed offers is a wraparound. I believe the upgrade charge was $200/$300/nt extra on a busy weekend.

nope , its all depends every place has a differrent rate and comp value, the 4 hour and minuim bet is what the tell u they want u to play for a room but doesnt have to do with the comp value

not a dam clue , are they offer u one or are u trying to get a comp room valued at 1000$ a nite thats a big differnce, usualy they offer u rooms becuase u earnen it and u have relationship with a host so its easy to so

 

What a great suite for only $400. Seriously I think the difference between the level of gambling required for a suite versus the actual retail value of the suite gets further and further apart the higher you go.

For example on some of the same nights where that Lanai Suite is only $400 the regular Terrace Studio room is $200. But I bet the level of play required for a Lanai Suite is way more than 2x the amount for a Terrace Studio. Isn't the Terrace Studio the room that they practically give out for free to anyone?

I'd rather just pay for that suite and use whatever comp value would have gone to the suite towards F&B instead. If they do that type of thing.

 

I agree for $400 it is a great value considering how there is only one weekend between now and November where the nightly rate is less than 1000. Many weekends are upwards of 2k a night. I'm pretty sure a butler is available for this room as well.
