At Cosmo this Sept we decided to get a cabana for the first time. I assume that when I check in, someone will show me to the cabana and explain the drink service, etc. Is it proper etiquette to tip that person?

If they did something to deserve a tip, extra loungers that don't come with the cabana, etc. Otherwise I wouldn't.

I suspect, when the bill gets taken care of at the end of the day, they have a deal with the staff who brings you drinks and food to splits those tips.

I have been tipping $20 to the Hostess that walks us to our cabana.

You bet. I don't have experience with Cosmo, but at Caesars, the guy that escorts you works with you to select the cabana, and comes around again afterwards, doing a few functions the CWs don't, like replenishing ice. Anyways, you don't want to start out on the wrong foot, because you can be sure any other service there will know if you tipped or didn't.
