I was curious if anyone else has been told the following that the points you earn count against your comp balance. Say you are gold and your getting 3x points on the slots. You put 15k thru over a weekend and earn 300 dollars in points. It is 1 point per 1.50 but with 3x multiplier it is 3 points per 1.50. So you earn 300 dollars. If you were counting a hold of say 10 percent your theoretical loss would be 1500 and your available comp would be 600 bucks and 300 would of bee provided in points. Points can be transferred into free play or used to cover any expenses at the hotel. Has anyone else been told this or is this in line with your experiences at Cosmo? Do other casinos do this with their points or is this unique to Cosmo by taking it out of your available discretionary comps?

When I stayed last I feel like the host comped me adequately based on my play. I had her to use my points to cover the remaining portion. I glanced at the calculator and as she was punching in numbers I saw her hit. "0.375" and the told me my available comps. And since the general rule is 30 to 40% of theo I'd say my points weren't help against me like you're trying to figure out. I'm gold as well so I was earning 3X points on slot though my slot play is sporadic and minimal compared to my table game action. I play slots to kill time when/if tables are too crowded or minimums are higher than I care for.

Seems to be a lot of gray when it comes to comps

Indeed. On my trips before my most recent one, the host on duty gave me 35% of theo as I spied his calculator punching. So even within the Cosmo the percentage isn't set in stone. I am not sure what exactly sways the host one way or the other. Also this past time I was told straight up my theo which I found odd as I figured they would want to help keep their formula secret? And this time around the host gave me her card and told me to call or email next time I want to come. I did increase my average bet by about 33% and time played by about 33% as well. Maybe she's just trying to grow the account. I probably won't creep up too much high in average bet but I will certainly be putting in more hours next time.

My host told me 30 percent while another told me 40 percent is what they comped. I never really pay for much but I do not run up charges. When trying to maximize my comps I want all I can get. I wonder if the host gets more cash if you get less comps I would assume so. It is a business and I can't blame them but it is confusing.
