There are not many recent posts on TI, we have cheap weekend rates and were wondering how it is and are there any room types we should ask for for an upgrade?

The Petite Suites are very nice and usually not that much more than the standard rooms.

We have stayed there at least a dozen times and never a problem. Clean rooms and bathrooms. Also like the elevators coming down in the casino, no need to walk far.

TI comps well. The rooms are a little on the small side for basic rooms but they are clean and updated. The casino seems "fair" and I seem to do better there than at CET joints. The only real downers are no upscale dining, a shitty little pool and the staff is terrible. I got the shake down for a tip from a baggage handler named Felix. I tip when I get my bags to my room. Felix was nice enough to point out that I should tip him for taking my bag since he wouldnt be the one bringing it up. He suggested $5 per bag to put a tag on them and toss them on a cart for the real guy to bring up, and get tipped again. I wasnt about to pay $30 for someone to play with 3 backpacks while my room was ready.

Even though checkin is at 3:00 I have never gotten my room on time the 3 times I've stayed there. Housekeeping is a rare site as well. Check in desk not very friendly. Seems the staff is under paid and not happy.

The one time I stayed at TI, which was last year, I got to Vegas around 1:30 PM and was able to check in early without issue

I just stayed at TI for a night and we liked it. The pool is small and it's a party pool on weekends, they have a DJ Friday through Sunday and it's fun. So if someone wanted a relaxing pool experience, you probably wouldn't like it. During the week I think it's relaxing though.

TI was where we stayed on my first ever Vegas trip five or so years ago. Buddy bachelor party. Back then I didn't know how to play BJ or craps at all. It was all poker in those days. Poker room was ok. Very small. Poker was a lot better in Vegas in those days looking back at it. I remember the pool being small and the rooms being dark. That's about it.
