    Hi,

a few years ago (3?) I discovered that I get comped rooms from CET using the rate calendar. After my 2nd visit last year I stopped getting any comp room offers there.
Probably I did not play enough or simply played "the wrong way".
I thought it is a good idea to visit every single CET casino in Vegas (nearly..) and play 20 dollars here and there.

Somewhere here in the board I learnt that this probably was stupid, but OK, I didn't know that before.

Now I visited end of may again and played quite a lot (for my level). Earned 3800 tier points playing slots mostly, even got one day at Harrahs more than 1000 tier points to earn the bonus 1000.
Played 12 hours a single day at Harrahs, 4-6 hours a day at other CET properties during that week.

When I look at the rate calendar again, nothing changed. Not a single day of comped rooms, at none of the properties.

Am I looking to early, does it take a month or more before my last visit makes any difference ? Was it simply still not enough play to get at least comp rooms at the cheaper properties ?

I am going again in December and I am curious to see what happens, because I need to decide at which casinos I spend my money then.
Still getting some comp offers from Station and Boyd, also 2 comp nights from Cosmo sometimes.
So if I have no realistic chance at my level of play why should I go back to CET ?

Probably I will, as I am not too far away from CET Platinum and it might be worth trying if that changes anything for next year at least

    Greetings from Switzerland
    Holger

My last trip to Vegas was January 2014. I have a 1086 Tier Score and have a comped room for my upcoming September trip. Because of the dates only one night comped, but also 3 nights @ $14, and 1 @ $20. I think you will see offers as you get closer to your trip.

CET is notoriously slow to update property wide marketing offers. Typically (For me and wife any how). Quarterly offers for rooms across multiple Vegas properties take 2 to 3 months to show up
in system. Example, I play heavy in Q1 Feb, My Quarter 2 offers come out in April, which are for May thru August. I have lots of free rooms, Free Play, etc. Lots of offers for property marketing events like slot tournaments, promotions etc in Q2.

March and Apr, I lower my play. New room offers dry up for June, July, Aug, except standard Diamond Tier level room offers. May and June play is back up, along with my ADT and comp rooms offers for end of summer into fall start hitting my TR account (Sept). Still some comp rooms, but not a lot.

I tend to play heavy one day during each trip at a MGM or other property in hopes of generating marketing offers. So far this policy works well for me, so I am able to balance out my trips.

However like a previous poster said, don't always count on TR website as the end all option for free rooms, a local marketing / host member can make some decisions on upfront partial or full room comps
if you have limited play at a given property.

    Hi,
Yes, it does not show a single comp room in the TR calendar whatever date I look. Last year I had 3-5 comp nights at the lower end hotels at all times excluding major holidays.
I guess I wait a while more or maybe really try a PM to this host mentioned above.
I do not have any contacts in person there, so I cannot contact anyone else.

But thanks for your opinions so far

    just give it time.

u dont play big enough for a host but he can atleast look into why for u ,as i said u should get something at some cet property.

I dunno, I've always found the CET rate calendars to react pretty quickly - I've seen them change in the middle of a trip when I front-loaded my play and then adjust again when the trip is over. I think within a couple of weeks after a trip, you should be seeing availability based on your last trip. After that, changes are due to supply and demand of comps.

Marketing offers are a different story, they lag more. Until recently, I never used offers, but I've gotten and used some good ones over the past year, but I still don;t have a handle on how quickly they react. I think they probably work like this - you finish a trip playing at level X. Any marketing offers that have already been released for level X, you are not going to get, but going forward, you will see any new ones. That's just a guess though, based on the fact that I don't think I've ever seen a marketing offer pop up where the start date of the offer had already occurred.

I believe marketing offers get re-assess quarterly or maybe longer. I had a host tell me I should book the offers I had now because my play had gone down and the next batch would be worse offers (he was right). My friend also played less last trip and his free play went from like $3500 to $600 on all the offers. We went in December and I think they dropped for the ones where the trip needed to happen may to August

Yea I have 68 tier credits and I'm comped at all the lower properties. I haven't played there much at all this year, a bit more in December and I stayed at Paris. Yea I think it takes a little while to update.

The calendar and booking has been a little wonky since they upgraded the system. Just keep checking, I look at my Mlife and CET stuff at least once a week.. for fun ahah :)

Ive been finding that cet is starting to focus more on offers than the rate calendar. I still see some calendar comps ... but now offer codes can occasionally get me nights the calendar can't.

As for your case ... what time of year was uour second trip last year. My guess is that killed your rating and is still on the books. So its less about waiting for your May trip to update and more about them forgetting about the previous trip.

It's near the end of the quarter. If things don't look better by mid July, I would speak to someone.

Are you traveling alone or with someone? If traveling with someone, enter that person's TR# as your companion. I now no longer get comp rooms on their calendar due to low playing them on a couple of recent comp stays. Before that, I would not get comp nights with just my TR number, but would get them when adding my wife's as my companion.

As others have said on here, sometimes it takes a little time for CET to update their system. I had absolutely no offers for a while despite decent play and suddenly I have dozens of offers from various properties.

I have found that calendar rate is better than the offers. If they are giving you free play, or shows or food, the room rate is always higher than just booking the calendar rate. You can't have it both ways. I value a nicer free room more than the $50 free play in a lesser room.
