Despite passing through LC all the time I've only stopped there twice but never played craps there. Last time I went I stopped on a road trip to eat the buffet. I saw nothing but $25 craps tables midday on a Sunday. The baccarat tables were super packed and the rest of the casino seemed unusually busy so maybe there was an event?

I'm heading back tomorrow and a friend is going with me that had never played and I'm supposed to teach. What are the normal daytime table minimums? I told him to expect high minimums since LDL is the nice casino in town. What about Isle of Debris?

Last time I was at LDL on a weekend it was $15 up until about 10pm on Friday night and then bumped to $25. It stayed that way until about 5am and it was back down to $15 for the rest of the day until Saturday night. I have never seen it lower than $15 there.

The Debris will have $10 throughout the day and night and they'll go to $5 around 5am until about 10am. If it is a busy weekend for them they will sometimes run $15 games on weekend nights. That is usually when they have a concert there or some giveaway that draws crowds. One weekend I was there and they were running $25 games! They didn't even have plastic placards to denote the $25 mins so they have it hand written on paper taped to the signs. LOL!

I was going to head over this weekend too but decided to go to see my friends in San Antone instead.

Ah a fellow Houstonian! That's funny that the Isle didn't even have $25 placards. But I believe it. I haven't been there since they had 2 boats. I would meet my parents there because we'd stay at the Inn at The Isle when they'd visit my grandfather in LC. I assume it's still a bit low rent. I don't expect to see less than $15 at LDL.

Craps is a crazy game. Just because it's $10 it's easy to ramp up to $30 $40 easily. In Vegas I play the $10 tables at Cosmo back up with odds and place 6 & 8. That's $42 with just single odds.

Yessir! I have been here since 07. You?

I have gone to both quite a bit and I must say they're very liberal with comped rooms! I must get ten mailers a week from them. I switch up the stays when I go there and will only stay at The Isle when they have availability in the tower rooms. They remodeled them and they're not too bad. But whichever I stay at I always make a drive to the other when staying the weekend to switch it up a bit.

I like LDL because it is much nicer obviously and I can golf there. I like that they have the fire bet ($5 min bet on it) but dislike the short bouncy tables. Isle is too damn smokey but they have been working to make it better and my last time out it was not as bad.

Agreed and that is why I love craps...for its craziness and as you know nothing better than a hot table. I am pretty aggressive and will often go all the way across with 10-20x odds when playing over in LA. If I blow my session roll there then I sleep and drive back to Houston. So I like to take the shot at a super hot table and supplementing the Vegas roll.

While in Vegas I still have aggressive tendencies but will be more measured since I am there for longer than a weekender in LA.

If you ever are going over in the future shoot me a PM on the board here and maybe we'll meet up and shoot a bit.

I'm headed out in about an hour or 2. I'll report back tomorrow with table conditions. The GF will probably make a face if I suggest the Isle. It'd be nice to generate some food comps at LDL as I pass through there on my way to/from LSU games in the fall.

Isle is loose with comp rooms not LDL right?

Been in Houston 7 years as well.

Oh my gosh, too funny. I just did a search on "Lake Charles" to see what LC info was on the board. I was halfway through this thread before I realized it was CURRENT. I just assumed I was reading an old thread since it was kinda far down in the results list. I was thinking about making a trip to LC this weekend since I still have left over degenerate tendencies after having left Vegas a few weeks ago. I wanted to stay two days but I haven't been to the Isle in a long time so they are only offering me one night at the Inn (which is where we stay anyways since we have a dog).

I also like LDL better and would love to stay there sometime. I'd have to get back in there good graces and leave the dog behind for a weekend. They are pretty stingy with comps (at my level of play anyways). There was a stretch where we were getting room offers for a night here or there but we never took them up on it and they dried up pretty quickly. I've never played craps at LDL because of their minimums. I don't think I've ever seen them under $25 and the tables are always packed! Can't beat that weekend buffet though!

What's the status on the Golden Nugget out there? Anybody know?

The Nugget looked really close to being finished last time we were there, which was about three months ago. Sure wish it was going to be a CET property.

I didn't start getting LDL comped rooms until I happened to hit a hot roller on the craps table one night so my bets were higher than normal. It started with Sun-Thurs and is now all days after one huge losing weekend there a couple months ago.

The hotel rooms are very nice and I like the property quite a bit. I am thinking of heading over in the next week or two to try to build up the Sept Vegas bankroll.

I asked a dealer last month when the GN was going to be up and they said December.

LDL had nice rooms. I also liked the lazy river and that outside bar from Jack Daniels for lunch. They just never would take care of me as well as CET would. I wish they would, as I liked it there. I am driving another hour and a half to Bossier. I guess I miss that 2.5 hour drive to LC, which seems short now.

Luckily, I have some offers from CET to fly me to New Orleans, which I am taking them up on. So, I won't have to drive to Bossier, in August.

I guess in September I can go back to LDL and give them another shot. However, I have no tier score with them now. I think I was preferred (thats the card I found), when I last played there. If they will start me at preferred again and comp me the room, then I will head back there.

Anyone play VP there, and is it still ok? I assume the place is still packed on the weekends.

GN could be good when it opens, as they will probably match card status or close with CET. I will definitely give them a shot.

We go to Coushatta more. The new 7 Clans hotel is nice, as is the new pool. LDL has table limits too rich for my blood, as I usually only play 3cardpoker at tables. I do love the look of the place and the clientele is better, but Coushatta, as well as Binions in Shreveport, which I really like, is our outside of Vegas gambling home.
