Only degenerates like us have teenagers who want us to take them to Vegas for spring break...

My husband said...we better book now, it's going to get crazy that week! I really thought there was no way we would have offers out that far - and we don't with MLife but I logged on to Total Rewards and lo and behold, 4 comp nights at Flamingo for the exact days of the kids' spring break. Why yes, I think I will!

Flamingo is a great choice for us. Mid-strip and lots of fast food options within and around. Perfect for teens who love to eat.

Now we either score some good prices on airfare or we drive. Either way it's a done deal! Yay, let the madness begin!

    Are we there yet??

Don't worry. Those 270-ish days will fly by.

For me it would be fly or stay home, I couldn't drive 17 hours one way for a 4 night trip.
Congrats on the comped room. Hoping you guys have a blast!

100% on that! Just google mapped that drive and I won't even do the 8 from home. However, I may consider it at some point if:
    a. I didn't have the points/companion pass on Southwest
    b. there were enough of us going that it saved us money
    c. airports shut down and I couldn't make it any other way.

I did the 8 hour drive twice in my life, so boring from San Francisco to Vegas. Although nothing beats that feeling as you come over the hill and around the bend and see the bright Vegas lights!

Well there are 4 of us and flights are so pricey! We are going to Hawaii next July and since there's no way to drive there - I'd rather save a little bit by driving in lieu of those tickets. We've driven Dallas to Orlando at least 7 times in the last 12 years so it shouldn't be too bad. Hey...it's Vegas at the end of the road!

It's something like 21 hours....we would leave at 6am Dallas time and get in at around 1am Orlando time the next morning driving straight through. One time we stopped in Mobile, AL and one year our transmission went out on the way there so that trip it took a lot longer! I think we could set our car on auto pilot and it would drive to MCO on it's own.
