    My Trip Report

PART TWO OF THE “TWO FOR ONE”…APRIL TRIP REPORT.

So, here we are again…back in Vegas. Once again staying at the MGM and our host has us a grand king room IMG_0287.jpg IMG_0288.jpg with $400 freeplay and $100 per day F & B credit. Flights were fine and we get into Vegas early afternoon. Checked in and quickly unpacked and down to the casino. There’s nothing like the feeling of the first tour around the casino floor upon arriving. Seeing all the different people and feeling the energy and vibe of the casino gives you that excited feeling in your stomach and unexplainable high…..or is that just me????...lol.

After a quick tour I get the freeplay added to my card and we head to Pub 1842 in search of the awesome NY steak and steak sauce we experienced last trip. On the way I swing by the lions share to check and see if the line ups are as bad as I have been reading about ever since it became a damn celebrity…and….ughh…it is:bang:. This was a reoccurring theme the whole trip.

We head into Pub 1842 and order drinks. Look over the menu and ….and…NO NY steak…WTF….ask the waitress and she says it was some sort of special when we were here last and its not a regular menu item. No worries….I order the ribeye I think it was, and it was good too IMG_0277.JPG IMG_0284.jpg …and of course some of their AMAZING steak sauce.

Hunger satisfied we head to the casino floor and “slot” around. From here the trip info will be broke down into mostly gambling and dining as my memory sucks and the days seem to run together and I can never keep the details daily orientated.

    DINING:
So we ate at Pub 1842 as I just said and we returned there again for a late dinner one evening…I had the nachos IMG_0281.JPG and the GF had some chicken dish IMG_0282.JPG . Both were good but not WOW. One of my favorite lunch items to have is a steak sandwich and twice this trip I ordered it at different spots and they both were horrible…seems like a hard item to f&%k up to me but they managed to do it. First time was at MGM’s new TAP sports bar where I had a MYVEGAS reward for free appetizer and beer. Ordered wings which were just ok. They had no bud light ( my beer of choice ) because their keg was broken. I ordered the steak sandwich, which was HORRIBLE,…and the GF ordered some kind of mini cheesesteak sandwiches that were recommended by the server…these were absolutely horrible as well…I don’t know how they managed to make two simple dishes so bad but they did. I also hate when a restaurant pre slices your steak…it never seems as good. Anyway, normally I give a restaurant two chances before saying I wont return but due to both our meals being inedible:thumbsdown: I don’t think we will return.

Second steak sandwich fiasco was at Toby Keith’s bar and grill. We ate here before and our meal was good but this time both our meals were not that great. My steak sandwich wasn’t good IMG_0280.JPG but I managed to eat half of it. The GF had a burger IMG_0279.jpg that she said was just ok. Fries weren’t that good either.

We also ate at Grand Wok in MGM…another of our favorites…ordered the calamari which is always amazing IMG_0278.jpg  and the BBQ pork…also good. We had a few late night drunken trips to McDonalds. Every trip we plan on doing Craftsteak at MGM but can never justify the $$ after eating at a couple high end restaurants on other trips and the meal really being no better than a steak dinner at half the price elsewhere.

We went to Brand steakhouse in Monte Carlo one evening for dinner. Both ordered NY steak and it was the worse NY steak either of us has ever had. They were dry as hell and rubbery…major disappointment:thumbsdown:…the baked potatoes were very good, though a little salty.

Didn’t see any shows again this trip…mostly gambled, drank and walked the strip.

    GAMBLING:

We gambled pretty much all day every day at different stakes. We played a ton of penny slots at $2-$4 a spin. These games are sooo fun but such a $$ suck…only had a couple $150-$200 wins each the whole trip and we probably spent $3000-$5000 between us on these bandits. Found a few penny slots that we really enjoyed and kept going back to even though we didn’t win much on them. Fever quick hits was fun…and another machine I always got some play out of I cant remember the name of…but has a spinning wild symbol that shows up and when it stops spinning it points in one direction and everything in front of it turns wild.

Two nights we played on a 25 cent slot for hours on $20. First night there GF put $20 in it and played for eight hours, 6pm to 2am…she had to give up at 1am and head to bed, so I continued to play it for her. Never took any $ out of it but got totally ripped drinking all evening on $20 and the cost of tipping for drinks:drunk:…major win in my book. Second time we played it was for 6 hours on $40 and got drunk again.:drunk:

Played our freeplay in the high limit room and had a couple hand pay hits IMG_0285.jpg IMG_0289.jpg . Last night there I put $100 into a random $2 a spin, three reel slot and won $1100…played it down to $1000 and cashed out. Hit for just over $1000 at the high limit room in Monte Carlo one night on $100 buy in.

Checked the Lions share slot several times a day and there was always a line up. Woke up 4am one morning needing to use the washroom so I figured I’d go check it out and there was a lady just getting up from the machine so I played it for an hour…no luck, ended up getting on it once more the last day there. No big wins. Ended the trip with me up a couple hundred and the GF down a couple hundred so gambling budgets are still intact for next trip.

Well I guess that’s it…or all I can remember anyhow…I’m horrible at remembering trips in detail. Did end up doing a little shopping and purchased pandora bracelets for the GF, my sister and the friend who house sits and watches our fur ball while we are in vegas. Next trip is probably going to be in DEC….GF wants to go for XMAS. Summer time is just too hot so we never go then. I’ll leave you with a few slot porn pics from wins at the local casino where I live. IMG_0173.jpg IMG_0222.jpg IMG_0228.jpg
Hope it wasn’t too boring of a journey and I can’t wait to return…take care!!
    CHEERS !!!!

Next time you go back, try the steak sandwich at Yardhouse at the Linq (if you go down that way). My husband had one there and it was very tasty and tender.

Thanks for the TR - you had some nice wins!

Another solid report. I like how you put the photos in with the story so we can see what you're talking about in "real time".

And one thing you said just screams "ONLY IN VEGAS"....the bit about waking up at 4am and deciding to go take a swing at a slot machine. THAT is what I love about Vegas. Oh it's 4am? I just got up to use the bathroom? Well let me take a walk down to take a shot at winning a couple million.

    Awesome.

Yeah I love the whole do whatever you like any time of day thing in vegas...I think I'm addicted to it..I try and stay away from this forum when I'm working so that on days off I have lots of new posts to read....GF thinks i've lost my mind sometimes..haha. Suekel, I'll have to check the yardhouse out in dec.

Love the trip reports and makes me salivate thinking about our trip in two weeks. We're in Calgary...you in Edmonton or Fort Mac? From which casino were those local photos taken?
