I remember reading here that if you got their Visa card the Resort Fee was waived. But I just looked and there is no mention of that perk. Did that go away or is it a special offer or what ?

    Thank You for your time....

No mention of waiving of fee because the standard with all CET hotels listed on their website is that fee is waived for plat/diamond/7stars. Info just not on the credit card disclosures because it is not associated with the card. Daughter is Plat & never pays resort fee. You will be fine when you check in....

I just got the card a couple weeks ago. I was looking to get back to CET.
I had checked rates for my December trip prior to receiving card.

I had the Rio rates at $40 a night for Fri and Sat 12\12-13 and comp sun thru Tuesday nights.
Now the rates are Fri. 12/12/2014:
    $66.75
    Sat. 12/13/2014:
    $66.75
    Sun. 12/14/2014:
    $29.25
    Mon. 12/15/2014:
    $29.25
    Tue. 12/16/2014:
    $29.25

    No free lunch.

The TR card was giving platinum status for a year and platinum players can get resort fees waived. If you don't have platinum or higher, I don't think you get the resort fee waived.

I booked my room for Dec using my TR# (showing platinum due to TR cc) and my total for my trip didn't have any resort fees tacked on. I just started a "dummy" booking without signing in and if you click "book it"....it shows a total...tax....and resort fee. Hope this helps

I just received my Total Rewards Visa at the end of June and was bumped up to Platinum status asap. But, the definition of a "year" must differ. I am only Platinum up until 3/31/2015. After reading the small print on the website it says for "the next year". So I would assume this would be 1 year from the date of card issue. It doesn't say calendar year, so I think I'm going to call and ask them to extend it.

OUCH.........that would hurt me as we are planning on a April 2015 trip.......I also read that the free tickets for the High Roller are only good for six months after the CC is issued. Buyer beware I guess.

Ya that's weird I'd call and ask. I got mine and it was good for one full year plus some.

I got my card in Nov '13 and was told it would expire Nov '14. I went to Vegas a couple months ago in March '14, about 3 weeks after I got home I got a letter saying they extended my platinum status till March '15. So I ended up getting 16 months of plat status.

We got the card. Got platinum for the first year and it was from the date we got the card . Then based upon our play they extended platinum for another year. We were notified by letter. We have never been charged a resort fee and for the most part get comp rooms. If the website says a dollar amount for a night call the reservation staff and they can get a better deal. Also if you combine your mates players card even better deals. What I enjoy about the visa is using it between trips and having all that spending money for free meals. A very good deal. Have fun

Well the way I am reading / guessing it, is they might be ending that program of being a platinum member for holding the card on March 31st 2015. Again not good for me if that's what happening.

I just get comped rooms and keep the resort fee on my CC. That way when it comes time to check out, i don't have to stand in line, i use the box to leave my keys.
For 5 nights comped it still only cost about $20 + tax per night. When i go next month and Nov., same thing......$20 + tax per night.
That's why i love comped rooms...........knowing what the bill will be for the whole year.

I got my card last June and from the tr desk my new Plat card had an expiration date of 3/14...I even pushed up a Vegas trip to March from May to use the card once again. On 4/1 I got an email stating my plat status was renewed until 3/15. The day I was checking out,but made leaving LV a bit less suckfull as I knew I was good for another couple trips..I did something like 785 tier credits so I know it was not the play that extended the status...quite possible this may be the case with you as well. For me it's back to Gold level, but nice while it lasts.Nice perk for a low-roller like me.

I take that back. I did email them about the dates in question and they just said that March was the renewal time of the year. I'll actually be extended out to March 2016 come renewal time in March 2015. Not a bad deal :D
